Nepal’s main attraction is undoubtedly the Himalayas. A whole slew of hikers make their way to the Himalayas to scale the mesmerizing rugged mountains. While trekking these jagged wonders, you’ll be overwhelmed with the sensation of being quite literally on the top of the world.  If trekking is too tedious for you, you can opt to take a flight over Mount Everest. Many domestic airlines offer scenic flights over the magnificent Mount in a light aircraft. The panoramic views of the straggling terrain below will play havoc with your senses.

When in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, you might want to drop by the Swayambhunath Stupa also known as the monkey temple. You can watch the frolicking monkeys and also get your fortune told by an astrologer. Also, visit the Bodhinath Stupa which is thronged by pilgrims from all over the globe. Myth has it that a bone fragment of Buddha is kept in the Stupa. Also, don’t miss a visit to the Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is the house of the Living Goddess and has beautiful buildings that are a throwback to the Malla dynasty. Another must-see for travelers is the Royal Chitwan National Park located in Central Nepal. It is the oldest national park in Nepal and consists of a variety of eco-systems comprising hills, ox-bow lakes and flood planes. An abundance of flora and fauna embellishes the vast landscape. There are plenty of activities at the park to keep you occupied. Take a ride on the elephants and gear up to see the one horned white rhino and the Royal Bengal tiger. If you just want to chill out without doing anything strenuous, cruise along Pokhara’s lovely serene lake, the Phewa Tal. Pokhara is a wonderful waterside refuge with beautiful lakes, wild lotus and swans. It is also the doorway to the mesmerizing Annapurna mountain range. Pokhara has a laid back quality that entices travelers to loosen up and relax.
