I would not have booked this hotel if I had known it had no restaurant or bar.Staying on business and after travelling a distance you just want to eat and relax and not have to walk into the town centre to find a restaurant. It is more a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel.

More of a B&B than a hotel. There is no bar or restaurant. Our room had also the smallest bathroom I have ever seen. There was no separate shower, just a hand held attachment on the taps and no shower curtain. The basin was tiny, the size you would normally see in a cloakroom. On the plus side the hotel is very quaint with lots of exposed timber beams, inglenook fireplaces and low ceilings. The breakfast was good with friendly service.

Very nice hotel not far from centre of BSE town. Our superior room was situated away from main hotel and we had our own lounge with TV and DVD player. Breakfast was good and the lady who served us was friendly. Nice traditional Suffolk style building.

Hotel was easy to find and there was a good varied breakfast menu. Room was very average and furnishings and en suite were a little tired. Definitely not a 'superior' room.

Great hotel, we stayed in a superior room with en-suite and it was very romantic. My partner didn't want to leave.

The hotel is(as at 31 May/1 June) in course of refurbishment with attention being given to restoring the character of one of the oldest buildings in Bury St Edmunds. We were quite comfortable in \"The Landlords Room\" as shown in the hotel brochure and would stay there again if we return to Bury.

Bedrooms lovely, quite quirky! One was huge! The least attractive room was the dining room which was a bit guest house. But it sufficed and breakfast was goodCharming owner.
