Quiet relaxing stayUpon arrival the receptionist didn't greet us and said very little when spoken to, but her colleague arrived she was the opposite and very helpful. When booking we paid the extra £10 for the superior double, which gives you a little more room. the room was clean and the bed very comfortable, with a good sized bedroom with good over the bath shower. There was a good view from the room window and the breakfast was very good. The hotel is very close the the arts centre which has a cinema, and there is a very peacful park at the rear of the arts centre. There are plenty of places to dine near by and the hotel is close to the hills if you want to go walking. I would stay at this hotel again.

1. The bed was very comforable, but the bright green light from the telephone was a distraction during the night. We might as well have left the light on it was so bright. 2. It was nice to have a bath available as well as a shower.3. The breakfast was very enjoyable with plenty of choice for vegetarians, although I did think that, in July, it was shame that not all the fruit on the buffet bar was fresh, especially as the strwberries where still frozen! 4. The bar menu for the evening of our stay was very lacking in vegetarian options. The pasta wasn't available and so all that left was a sandwhich! Yet if I could've waited until after 11pm for my evening meal, there was a tasty veg curry available on a different menu - why could I not have been offered that at 7pm? There was a 3 course menu available in the hotel restaurant but this was more than we wanted to both eat and spend. We then had to try and find a restaurant that was open on a Sunday night in Malvern - which wasn't easy actually as it would appear that most places are shut on a Sunday night. 5. The staff where friendly and tried to be helpfull.6. Plenty of parking available.

The dining room at breakfast was full of used tables with dirty plates left on them, making it difficult to find a clean one. Staff were unconcerned and setting places in another area for evening meals.

It appeared that the hotel catered more for the business market as during our stay there was clearly a lot of business people there. The restaurant was fairly expensive for the menu that was on offer. However, it had beautiful views and was in a great location, once we found it.! We certainly had a really good time there and enjoyed the countryside and walks that were easily accessible from the hotel. A great place to go to if you want to get away from everything.

Breakfast was all you can eat buffet, so good value. Not amazing quality, but was good for a buffet, with plenty of choice. Room only cost me £49 with the laterooms discount so was very pleased with value for money.

We had some problems with housekeeping. It was a very busy evening so the hotel was given the benefit of the doubt. I complained at the lack of cleanliness and attention as we were leaving for an evening function. On our return certain issues were resolved but not all. Following further requests in the morning the management offered us a complimentary one night stay due to the problems. Overall the impression was good. The assesment of the food was based only on breakfast.

Pleasant EnoughAbbey Hotel is 3 star which is about right and we only stayed the one night . Pricing was a little over the top.Service was pretty good at reception and Bar area and breakfast was good enough.Three weddings that day seemed to have reduced one or two of the staff to look thoroughly miserable esecially the supervisor but generally a pleasant stay.

Good value stay in improving grand hotelPersuaded my wife to stay after previous visit. We were given exactly the same room as previously (does this happen to late room bookers?) and were delighted because of the quality of the room and its aspect. Whereas before this hotel was slightly let down by uncommunicative staff and unloved breakfasts, now the staff were much more engaging and the breakfasts were rather better, probably as a result of a higher turnover of food. Altogether this was an enjoyable stay in an impressive building in a great location.

On arrival customer service good but check out took too long - over 20 minutes which was not good. There were lots of areas that would have benefitted from a good dust. Our room was nice, but having 3 outside walls was cold - when the lights are off the heat goes off and we didn't realise until we had suffered a cold rising on our first morning! Compared to Ibis type hotels which are less labour intensive I grant you the room could have been cheaper but location, location, location. The breakfast was lovely - no complaints here - attentive staff and hot plentiful food. We didn't however, like the dinner menu and ate out for all our other meals.

A Trip in the MalvernsWe used the Abbey as a base to visit British Camp and to walk locally. Additionally as the railway station is under 15min walk we went by train to Worcester. Great Malvern is an intersting town with access to many areras of natural beuty. The hotel makes a good base for such journeys having a good menuand more than adequate parkingin near the town centre.

Host a lot of functions here which tend to swamp the hotel - breakfast is chaos and kept warm under infra red so tends to be dried out - best bet is to pay extra and have brekfast in your room. Very good location for town and parking is excellent.reception staff on days we were there were off hand

I would certainly not pay full price for that hotel and in fact, the special price of £60.00 was a little too high, considering the quality of the room. I must say that the quality of the food was good, bith evening meal and breakfast.Considering the hotel belongs to a prestigous chain of hotels, I ouwld have expected a good level of decor, that was not the case. Whilst the building and entrance foyer was quite impressive, the part of the hotel that my room was located, was in need of decoration. Also, the hotel car park is at the rear of the hotel and one has to walk all the way around the outside of the building to gain entry via the front entrance. For a hotel of this size and stature, one woul have expected a rear entrance for guest.....all I can say, it was luck it wasn't raining.

Room was pleasantly warm (January) all night, spacious, clean and comfortable. My problem with the door key was resolved quickly by the reception staff. Would have liked clear instructions for use of the shower - they are all different. Breakfasted half an hour after start and it was good and hot, lots of choice including fresh fruit. Some instructions by the toaster would help! Saw several people who did not know how to use it. Also, staff need to turn its heat down after it has been going for a while, to avoid burnt toast. Hotel very well situated for after breakfast trot up Worcestershire Beacon! Dog made welcome.

Excellent location at the centre of Malvern, ideal for exploring the hills on foot.It would have been nice to have someone show us to our room rather than stumble around trying to find it.Replacement of a light bulb required two requests, but was eventually done speedily.Warm, comfortable room, just right for a cold winter's stay.Breakfast buffet excellent, rest of food looked expensive.

Abbey HotelThe room was fine. Dining Room Service was quite adequate on the first night but very slow on the second with an inattentive attitude. The menu is relatively limited but there was a coach party there both nights and apparently the same menu for other residents which makes you feel that you are part of a large group not individually valued customers. Despite this limited menu they ran out of one of the desserts when even dining at 7.30 which is not a late dining time. The hotel is hoewever very conveniently located for the Three Counties showground.

Bed and Breakfast at the Abbey Hotel, MalvernChecked in as a surprise for my wife on our wedding anniversary. Room was lovely but very hot, with no obvious way of turning the heating down, we had to resort to opening all the windows, which only helped a little. The bed pillows were bizarre, and comprised 4 small square bean bags, with little or no support, not comfy at all. Having the windows open meant that the unbelievable noise of the bin men, collecting the hotels rubbish for nearly 35min from 8pm gave us an unwelcome wake up call. We were told that evening breakfast was served till 10am, we went down at 9.30 only to find service had finished. We were of course allowed to eat, but being the only ones left while the staff cleared up again did not make for a relaxed stay. I would come again, but ensure a room at the rear of the hotel.

The hotel is undergoing refurbishment in some areas and double glazing being fitted. Our room was very spacious, the bed was enormous and comfortable. Sadly the window in bathroom was not finished so was very cold in there. The evening meal was from a set menu with limited choice. I think it was around £27.00 for three courses. It was not of great quality. The breakfast was plentiful and of average quality. I would stay again but probably eat out locally.
