Second visit to Hotel Kolumbus in a year. It is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Very easy to get to - a few minutes walk up Genslerstrasse from the Tram 6 stop. Only 15-20 minutes tram ride to/from Alexanderplatz. Reception is open 24/7 which is great if coming in on late flight. During both stays all the staff (reception, catering, domestic, bar) were extremely friendly, courteous, helpful and efficient. The rooms are well designed and cleanliness is exceptional. Beds really comfortable and lovely magic blankets provided for chilly nights. Then there's breakfast. Usually from 6-10 but, because of the Marathon last weekend, times extended 5.30-11 which accommodated all guests. The dining area is light and spacious; the range, quality, presentation and amount of food on offer is great. Overall, I can't think of staying anywhere else if visiting Berlin.Enjoy.

Bit Basic but if your looking for a cheap weekend break it was fine, hotel at 20 euros from city centre. i would stay again
