The House Al Palazzo Lion Morosini is a small hotel, housed in an ancient XIII century palace overlooking the Campiello del Remer, just across the Canal Grande. La property is located in the Rialto area, 5 minutes from the famous bridge same name, near the Theater Malibran, 10 minutes from Piazza San Marco, Theater La Fenice and Theater Goldoni. The rooms are reminiscent of the Venetian style, the atmosphere is friendly and quiet: all have heating, TV, safe, fan or conditioner. The more expensive rooms overlook the canal Saint John Chrysostom.

The Sleeping room was huge and the beds were good. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting as it was barely large enough for standing in and the WC pan was against the tiny bath and i had to sit across the pan to go to the toilet.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the Grand canal and close to all of the sights of Venice. The staff on reception are very friendly and hospitable. Our room was large and seemed to have been rather luxurious in the past although it was a little worn now. The breakfast was okay, but the coffee was good and it was enough to put you on until later in the day. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would come again.

Very good option in VeniceWe liked the hotel, it was just as the pictures showed it to be. Small,but good enough for us and at a great price, very close to Rialto Bridge, it even has its own little pier were we would seat at night with a glass of wine to watch the boats and gondolas pass by.The only bad thing about it is that we arrived late, and were received by an oriental receptionist that didnt speak either English or Italian, so he handed us the key but there was no way of getting any information from him. Nevertheless, the girl who works at the reception during the day was charming and helpful. There´s no air conditioning, just fans, but it wasn´t hot in the room.The breakfast was great compared to the usual breakfast served in Italy and we enjoyed it in the terrace overlooking the Canal Grande.

weekend in VeniceLion Morosini was conveniently situated, a short walk from the Rialto Bridge. Luckily the hotel provided directions by email otherwise it would have been hard to find down a very narrow alleyway. Accommodation was simple but adequate and good value. Breakfast was disappointing - self service hot drinks from a machine and supermarket croissants. Not much staff presence but good email communciation beforehand . High spot was the fabulous medieval bar under the hotel steps, which had a wonderful atmosphere and provided a free buffet with cocktails early evening. A real find which we wouldn't have known about had we not being staying at the B & B.

Very difficult to find if you use address given on web. Quad-Room very dark and dingy, bathroom very small. Turning on aircon tripped circuit breaker for entire floor, complaint about this was brushed aside as something that happens often in Venice. No one mans the desk after 5 pm and security could be improved. Noisy but nice bar downstairs.

Good locationThe best thing was the location. The room was a decent size but no view and the shutters on the window did not even open. The bathroom was very small, with a very average shower. The hot water was not working one morning but we received a 10 Euro discount for this. I would recommend this hotel but not if you are looking for anything flash.
