General Description

The Albion Hotel first opened to widespread critical acclaim in 1939. Rubell Hotels purchased this stunning Art Deco Masterpiece in 1997. After a 10 million dollar renovation and restoration the Albion opened again in 1997 to much kudos. November 2005: the Albion hotel undergoes another complete renovation, all public areas and guest rooms have been updated and the results are spectacular. The Albion's architecture reflects that of the Majestic Ocean Liners of the late 1930's with the same low key ambience associated with the Rubell Hotel chain. Intimate and friendly, the Albion has a wonderful reputation in South Beach and beyond in offering the finest service and a pleasant attentive staff. Situated in the Heart of South Beach's Art Deco District, the Albion is steps from the Miami Beach Convention Center and the Jackie Gleason Theater, and adjacent to the most spectacular nightlife and dining in South Beach on Lincoln Road. Blocks from Ocean Drive, the inviting warm Atlantic Ocean and the Beach. Close to Downtown Miami and the business district. Nine miles from Miami International Airport, and twenty-five miles south of Fort Lauderdale Airport. Six miles from the Port of Miami. Amenities include: stunning public areas with original marble floors and artwork from the Rubell Family Collection, relaxing coconut palm garden, spacious sundeck, pool with Peek a Boo portholes, production office, wardrobe rooms, Albion Cafe, Albion Bar, 91 unique guest rooms, junior and one-bedroom suites featuring Queen/Queen or King bed accommodations, 9 Penthouses with a choice of Ocean, Pool and City views, work stations, data-port or wireless internet access in all rooms, cable TV, custom designed furnishings, CD Players, fully stocked mini bars, iron and ironing Board, hair dryer, in-room safe, waffle-robes upon request, Continental Breakfast served at the Albion Cafe, room service (In Room Dining 6:30A - 10:00P), catering for corporate, convention or P&E groups in house, complimentary use of hotel desktop computer located on the Mezzanine, choice of two meeting rooms (The 400 sq. ft. FreeWiFi was great and I love the lobby decor. The pool is being remodeled and the date of completion was last month. The neighbors dog barked all night. Hotel very clean, European style bathroom very small, the room was very spacious and the view would have been great if the pool was open and not empty. The room was very clean and had great closet space.

The hotel is located near Walgreens and CVS, many restaurants, nightclubs, the beach, and many other places. Great location but it was a really small room and a weird smell when you would enter. If you don't mind and only want a place to sleep... this is a nice hotel for the price.

The hotel was a great deal and it is located in the middle of everything. It was so convenient to the beach and Lincoln Road. It was worth it and I would definitely stay there again if I was trying to save a few bucks.

I went to Miami Beach with some friends. I chose this place because it was affordable. My expectations were low because it was so cheap, but I needed only a place to lay my head at night. Well, I was so surprised. I loved it. The room and location was great. The ony downside was that parking was expensive, but that is because chose to use the valet service. Housekeeping was great. The hotel was so unique. It was a great choice for me and I will most definitely stay there again!

We arrived on Saturday and we weren't impressed with the exterior appearance of the hotel. It looked much better on the pictures. Once inside, we were again disappointed. Rust stains ran down from the ceiling and the lobby wasn't as modern and posh as portrayed. The staff was friendly and saw our luggage to our room after a short altercation between a guest and a visitor occured. The room was tiny and poorly decorated. There was no balcony and no coffee machine in the room. I attempted to take a shower and I didn't have the luxury of having hot water. My boyfriend was a bit more lucky than I in regards to water temperature!!! :) The hairdryer also caught on fire while I was drying my hair. Although, the staff was quick to bring me another one, I wasn't reassured. We spent 3 nights at the hotel and all three were nights of poor sleep.. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and the mattress lacked firmness. If you are looking for a relaxing hotel, this hotel is not the one for you. With a bunch of kids running around and partying, we returned more stressed and tired than when we originally got there. The room is not worth the price we paid. Although the hotel is reasonnably located, there are better options!!!! Finally Valet parking was a disaster. Although one attendant was curteous and prompt, the others were slow and always asking to move our car out of the way, even if we were stopping by the hotel for a brief 15 minutes. Ouchhhh!!! Even if we didn't use the restaurant or pool facilities, other guests commented that the food quality was horrible. The hotel also advised us that the pool was broken. Overall, TERRIBLE!

II love this hotel for "" total coolness"" of the lobby waterwall and swimming pool with portholes ! It lived up to my expectations of SoBe coolness. It has great location , a two minute walk to the beach and around the corner from Lincoln Road for all the people watching and outdoor cafes. The room was well designed ,comfortable and quiet! My only negative comment is that the laundry is dumped on the floor during cleanup/servicing and they should invest in a laundry cart and better training of cleaning staff! I'd highly recommend this hotel!
