My wife and I were on a honeymoon trip through Italy. We stayed at the Aurelia Antica Suites and Apartments in Rome. The good: Room was fairly clean and the price was reasonable compared to many other places. The bad: Staff were minimally helpful and gave us wrong directions one time. The hotel is located outside the main area of the city so we had to take a bus and the subway in order to get anywhere. (We were in a big city, so this is expected to some extent). The room had two double beds that slid apart at night when we tried to sleep. Also, there was no complimentary breakfast included. Overall: OK for the price, but if you got more cash, stay elsewhere.

My family felt right at home here. It is an older apartment but it is clean and inexpensive. You could use the kitchen for a fee but no need there is a great restraunt around the corner with great service and prices. The air is on a timer and is not a problem unless you go around the last part of june - august because it is a little humid. The Hotel staff is great. if you email them a head of time they will send a car to pick you up. Great stay for travelor on a budget

Our stay wasn't very pleasant here. The beds were lumpy there was no a/c. We were there for two weeks and our sheets never got changed. We had a 6am flight the day we left and asked them to arrange for a cab for us early in the morning and when it came time for us to check out my husband had to run to the hotel next door to get us a cab. We would not stay here again. Next time we will spend the extra money and go somewhere nicer.

According to the hotel info, check-in was 12 noon. We got there at 12, and were told to come back at 2:30 because the room wasnt' ready. When we finally were able to go into the room, there was a very moldy smell, which I'd hope would dissipate once the windows and doors were opened, but it didn't. The location is nice, and convenient to Fiumicino Airport. A bit far from the City Center, but since we had a car, it was OK. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel which takes you into the center, and quite close to St.Peter's .

Carpet in room was moldy with cigerett burns throughout. Air didn't work, pool was empty. Separate charge for internet access, continental breakfast, service to/from airport. If on foot, VERY difficult to find first time round.

The room was exceptionaly clean, bright and checked daily. Staff spoke good english and exceptionally helpful-only complaint was cleaning staff didnt ck toilet paper and was completely out one AM-same thing for shampoo on another day- Bathroom exhauset fan didn't work, nor tub drain - transportation direction provided on paper by hotel failed to note that the single bus 886 recommended from the local train station DOES NOT RUN ON SUNDAY'S- got stuck for two hrs at midnight at bus stop-This location is VERY hard to find first time - Buses nor cabs know where it is - Look for CROWN PLAZA HOTEL huge sign abt 6 min ride on bus 886 or 98 from Cornelia train sta, and immediately get off bus- The driveway for Residence Aurelia Antica is adjacent to the further property brick wall of Crown P.-the drive is 2-3 hundred feet long and Aurelia is at the end of this driveway. Residence Aurelia Antica cannot be seen from the highway and only the roof is seen when standing at the end of the driveway mentioned. There is only a small sign for AA and its recessed down the driveway. Restaurant at Crown Plaza is VERY expensive. Aurelia Antica is only abt 15 min ride by bus then train to downtown or vatican.
