If you are looking for a beautiful place to vacation, fun, yet relaxing this place is great. Has everything for a great vacation. Gorgeous huge beach. Two huge pools. Lots of fun activities. Delicious food. Beautiful location and grounds. Dominican Republic is a poverty stricken island but has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, so... if you are an excessively picky person who expects a five star Ritz Carlton then go to a Ritz Carlton, otherwise stay here and you will have a good time.

The Barcelo Premium Punta Cana Resort was absolutely beautiful. The resort consisted of 3 separate pools, one of which had a swim up bar. The beach was steps away. All-inclusive was a wonderful option, plenty of food and drinks and options such as a trapeze, kayaking, boogie boards and shows. The resort contained one nightclub and staff was very accomodating and friendly.

I love the hotel me and my husband enjoyed it very much. It was very clean . we spend more of our time tanning on the beach, so we really didn't get out of the resort. I really didn't like room service it was 4 in the afternoon and the room still wasn't clean. U had to ask them to bring you towels to the room, and the room smell musty. At the bar they would ignore u, and when they felt like it they would take care of u.

The hotal has great potential but there are many issues that need to be resolved. For example, the disco eventhough has non-smoking sign people smoke and the security guards allow it. the music is terrible. The foods is almost the same everyday. Since they have about six bars, they should designate area specially for people who do not smoke and have children with them.

i found the majority of the staff to be extremely helpful, polite and friendly. the hotel is well maintained and the facilities were well maintained. the hotel's location though is out in the middle of nowhere, meaning if one was looking to go to town or see local attractions you must travel.the hotel and all its staff were great and had a lovely experience, would definitely consider returning.

The check in was a little slow as not enough people were assigned to check in. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The amenities were first rate. Limited choice but good food in all of the speciality retaurants. The general buffet was very good with a wide choice. All of the hotel staff tried very hard to please. Wi-fi internet service available at an extra cost, transmit speed is slow but adequate. The beach and pool area were very clean with plenty of available sun loungers. Basic casino and disco heavy on techno music. I would look forward to visiting here again.

Some of the food was less than spectacular, but the rest of the stay was fantastic! An excellent value for the money. Nice property, great beach, good service, friendly staff. Highly reccomended.

Overall, my stay at Barcelo Premium was nice. If all you want to do is lay out in the sun, this is a good place for you. The two pools were amazing and the beach was very clean. The swim up bar was a lot of fun and I loved the fact that there was a buffet and another bar outside- it was very convenient. There were plenty of lounge chairs at the beach, but you had to wake up early and claim one around the pool because those filled up quick. The buffet food was not good and neither was the French restaurant. The Dominican restaurant was my favorite, it was delicious! The wait for my room during check-in was long because my room was not ready. Our room had an amazing ocean view, but it was above the buffet so you can hear the clinking of glasses and utensils early in the morning and throuout the day. Houskeeping was not very good. They forgot to give us towels one day and we had to wait a while before it arrived. We also had some mosquetos in our room, but I guess you have to expect that in the Carribean.

Was the place perfect?? Not at all. The service was mediocre at best, the water pressure was slightly more then a trickle, the food was often not so great and exceptional only once and getting a beach towel was next to impossible. However,when you put that in the context of what you are paying, it is an incredible value. I am not going to ramble on about amenities because I am sure you have read them elsewhere and in other reviews. Briefly, the hotel was beautiful and well maintained. I heard from some other guests that their rooms were sub par. Ours was beautiful complete with slate tile shower with glass wall, wood beam cathedral ceiling, marble topped dressers and a plasma TV. The refridgerator was stocked daily with beer, soda and bottled water, all included in the ridiculously low price that we paid. It was also clean and well cared for by our chamber maid. The buffet was just okay. The lines for omlets and specialty pastas were too long and the wait staff was less then efficient. It was fairly easy to get a drink at the numerous bars as well as in the swim up bar. The specialty restaurants were also nothing to write home about with the exception of Tokio, the Japanese one which I thought was great. Word to the wise: Don't bother waiting on the long line in the morning to reserve a table in one of the specialty restaurants. Just go to the one of your choosing during dinner hour and ask them if they have room. Most times you can come back in 1/2 to an hour and they will accomodate you. But for value and bang for the buck it really can't be beat. We had a great time and I would recommend it to a friend in a minute. matter of fact, I told my sister that she and her husband should take their three kids there next summer. The mini kids' water park and the kids' club looked great. Hell, I might even join them.

when I booked my trip i was worried because of some bad reviews... well, in my opinion the place was great, staff super friendly and food OK. some people had complained about the staff not speaking English... well... the DR official language is Spanish so if you have a problem with people speaking their native language better than they speak yours i recommend you to travel to a place in which English is their official language. staff is very friendly and they really appreciate a good attitude and a tip. i gave the guy that stacked my mini bar a 5 dollar bill and he gave me a champagne bottle!!!! talking about appreciation... the beach is espectacular and my husband and i had a great time... if you are not a super picky high maintenance person i would really recommend this place to you. check in time is at 3 pm so if you get there before that time you wont get your room... so, instead of being miserable take your bating suit with you and go to the beach while your room is ready!!!!
