Nice location; market across street; subway entrance at corner; 1 bedroom suite with mini kitchenette offered extra space not found in typical hotel room for the price of this suite; bathroom small; room interior needed some updating; it had older feel to it, but it was clean; staff was helpful

The rooms were spacious and clean, but the A/C was LOUD. Loud enuf to keep you awake. I asked other guests if they had the same problem and it seemded to be pretty universal. Bring your earplugs!

If you're going to a concert at the Beacon Theatre, Hotel Beacon is by far the best place to stay. Kitchenettes mean you can pick up food at Fairway mkt and eat at ""home"".

After a long 9-hour flight from Rome, staying at The Beacon overnight was a refreshing experience. I know the neighborhood on the Upper West Side, so it was easy to do the necessary grocery shopping before retiring, then up early for coffee at Starbucks. Shopping and browsing, watching the families out for a Saturday experience together, were delightful.
The concierge was terrific. A great personality and she helped without being intrusive. She ordered a car to Newark airport so the taxi rush hour experience would be minimized. It worked beautifully. All in all, I found the hotel friendly, convenient, very well-located --- so much so that a trip to the Metropolitan Museum was easy to navigate. I always enjoy The Beacon, but this was especially good.

Spacious rooms, kitchenette was equipped w/micro, stove, refrig and sink, loved the market being right across the st. Rooms are very dated, some wallpaper pulling off of walls, comforters very dingy, carpet stained. Great location, fresh market and starbucks outside the front door. Friendly staff. Suite rooms spacious and kitchenette was very nicely setup for a family. The rooms could stand to be updated some.

This is a very nice hotel and was a good value for the rate I paid. The beds were great and the room decor was very nice. We were given a room with a handicap accessible shower and were not told about this when we checked in. There was a problem with the air conditioning; it was very hot in the room when we checked in and we could not cool it down. Maintenance fixed it but then it kept cutting on and off all night and this was very annoying and when it was off, it got very warm in the room and I could hear the outside street noise. I was on the 3rd floor of the hotel and the view was not good. The small kitchen was a nice feature but the freezer had not been defrosted in months and there were no ice trays; the hotel told me they do not have ice machines. The amenities in the bathroom were insufficient and we had to call for extra towels. The housekeeping staff was very efficient and helpful. I usually stay on the mid to upper East Side of NYC and the upper West Side is much noisier and more crowded.

Everything about the hotel was graet except the heating cooling system. They have motion sensors on the thermostat so unless your in the room and moving the system does not run. It was 90o when I was there and I had to get up several times at night to activate the cooling system this made for a long hot night. I mentioned this to the staff and they said it was the same situation in the winter with keeping warm. Time for new thermostats!

The hotel was just totally renovated, so the rooms were very comfy and spacious. The location was good as well. I would recommend this hotel to a friend. It was a great value- nice, new, spacious rooms for a great price in NYC. Every room also has a fridge, stove, coffee, sink, dishes, etc... (mini kitchen).

As the hotel has been recently renovated all the rooms are clean and newly decorated. Every room I've stayed in has been bright and cheerful. The location is great if you want to be on the upper west side. Walking distance to Lincoln Center. One block from 7th ave. subway express stop. Across the street from Fairway. (Fabulous breakfasts on 2nd floor).
