Bransford Road, Bransford Worcester ,England

General Description

This is a lovely Hotel with fantastic panoramic views over the Malverns. An added bonus is that it is great if you want a golf break. The hotel's Bransford Golf Club is 'the closest thing to Sawgrass in the UK'; all lakes, small greens and narrow fairways and allied to the wonderful leisure club and Sauna means that there is something for everyone. Parking is available at the front of the building. (GW 05/2009) The hotel is a local treasure: A Grade II listed building, built around 1630 under the reign of Charles I. It was built as an Inn, and whilst behind the facade much of the original building still exists the whole hotel resembles a 2 storey traditional Manor House. The hotel overlooks the Malvern Hills in beautiful gardens, and is only three miles from the historic cathedral city of Worcester. Nearby cities of Stratford-Upon-Avon and Birmingham can be accessed in less than 40 minutes.

Disappointing. This was a very poor standard of accomodation even at the Late Rooms rate of £74.00. I would not pay anything close to the rack rate for the room I was allocated. The room was grubby and required some general maintenanace. The hotel is clearly under staffed and although they mainly tried, it was difficult at times to get much in the way of attention. The potential here is greatly under acheived and so much more could be made of the hotel especially the gardens for Summer use.

OK, so it was a relatively inexpensive stay at £75 including break, but the room was musty and tatty. The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor and it looked like it had done for some time. The lino was stained and mildewed (room 97.) The window frame was rotting and leaked when we had a thunderstorm. The bed was horrendous. Springs poking in my back, which became a bit hideous by 3am. The food in the restaurant was OK, but very bland, and the portion I got was massive; much too much for me to eat. The breakfast was the best bit, except the coffee. It had been stewing in a pot for ages. Shame - the hotel looked so nice on the web site, and it's a beautiful bit of country. Sorry! The best thing I can say is that the staff were friendly and did their best.

The hotel is in need of major refurbishment but if you are happy with well used equipment this would be for you given the value for money pricing. The main drawback is that although the hotel needs some work my room (No. 67) was very dirty with a significant level of dust under the bed, behind the table and on top of the wardrobe. There were also a number of stains on the carpet. I won't be staying there again.

Major mix up over room booking, Damaged toilet facilities were reported for repair but not repaired after three hours causing second room change. Breakfast was adequate. Location was easy to find

The hotel is a little tired decor and facility wise. Restaurant menu was very limited and the food was somewhat dissapointing. However the staff were helpfull and courteous. I would stay again if I had to although I would look elsewhere first.

Nice hotel, but the service in the restaurant was terrible! I don't blame the staff themselves - I just think that they have never been properly trained. Greast shame because the food was actually very good.

We found bits of half eaten biscuits in the room on the floor! The restaurant was actually situated (I kid you not) in the hotel lobby, so you can watch the receptionist while you eat! The food was terrible. Ordered the beef with bacon and onion and a rich wine sauce. It had no bacon, no onions, and the rich sauce was a bit like watered down ketchup. The beef was a black slab.Terrible!

Although the hotel clean in most of the communal areas the decor of the rooms was dated, carpets stained and bathrooms extremely basic with mouldy tiles. On checking into the hotel the gentleman on reception was not the most friendly member of staff ,looked disinterested and was not informative regarding any of the hotel facilitiesThe food was expensive £9.99 for a Burger and Fries and was certainly not worth the money. On the plus side the bar staff however were extremely friendly and professional and the bed linen and towles were clean and smelt fresh.

I wish I had stayed at home!A warm welcome, but the hotel is in serious need of a makeover. I left a note for the manager noting faulty earth wire to the bathroom towel warmer, soiled bed base, drooping curtains, plus dining room carpet in need of spot cleaning and chandeliers dirty with spent bulbs. Waiters should remove second place setting when a guest dines alone. Food overpriced for what seems to be wamed up freezer goods. Not good value for money.

We had a lovely Gold suite, so clean, huge bed and plasma TV. Dinner and breakfast was included in our room price. This was such a lovely place - great for romance.
