My second stay, this time in a more traditionally furnished room rather than the contemporary and probably recently refurbished one I had last time. It was showing its age with peeling paint on windows (which were old sashes and didn't shut very well), and the bed was very soft and probably needed replacing. Overall though the room had everything needed for a one-night stay, including small desk, plenty of toiletries and tea/coffee, the staff at reception and in the bar again very friendly and welcoming. And it's a great

The hotel WIFI system was not working during my stay, as a business traveller I found this most unfortunate.

Some slight misunderstanding about price of coffee served at the bar during the morning. Nothing serious, but to have been given a price instead of taking from us the loose change we had would have felt more honest. The original submission of a £10.00 note didn't bring any change for one cup of coffee and one cup of tea. When change was requested we were asked 'how much change did we have? We were never given the right price for the drinks.

Great location but tiredGreat location near the major shopping streets with reasonable rates but a very tired hotel with vintage 80's decor. The staff ranged from indifferent to surly except for the enthusiastic cleaning staff who gave us a wake-up call at 08h30 on Sunday and started cleaning the other group members' room around them before checkout. Glad we found a couple of restaurants and a patisserie within 5 minutes' walk as we perceived the hotel restaurant to have an Eastern flavour, which was simply not what we were looking for. We also saw a surprise visitor in the form of a mouse in the lobby. All in all, a convenient spot but there were times we wanted to be staying in the hotel opposite. Recommended only if your expectations are relatively low.

Great value for money..ideally located for shopping!Stayed here with my daughter for a shopping trip and as it was about 100 yards from Oxford St. we thought it was ideal. We were checked in quickly and efficiently, and although the porter grumbled at being asked to show us to our room by the receptionist, he took us in the lift right to our door. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower worked well which was great but the tv had a sound defect but luckily we had magazines with us. The room was quite cold during the night (despite us being northerners!) but it was quiet. We didn't eat at the hotel although room service was available, we chose to eat at the Spaghetti House just along the road which served great food at reasonable prices.

Booking in and checking out was extremely slow and staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. After entering a nice clean modern reception area of the hotel I was thoroughly disappointed to enter a shabby, old fashioned and uninviting room. I was staying on a work trip with 14 other colleagues and they all thought the same. Very, very disappointed. All the rooms could do with a complete makeover.

My partner and I arrived at the hotel on NYE only to find workman on the ground and basement floors drilling /carrying out repairs dust sheets all over the place and was told work will be stopping at around 5pm,we were however given a quiet room but on inspection the tv on the wall did not work this was reported to the main reception but was told cable was off all day because of the work being done( so why could we not watch normal TV BBC ITV etc? a service we had paid for, the carpets were very shabby and in need of a good clean, the room was spacious and plenty of cupboard space, bathroom was ok and plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries provided bed was comfortable but there was a large wood panel at the bottom of the bed which numerous times we banged our feet on. We did not use the breakfast room. The web site for the hotel should had stated work was being carried out over the Christmas period..Nice pub opposite the hotel (Three Trees or Bells I think) did nice food and service very good..

Nice hotel and great location - only few minutes walk from Marble Arch Tube. I stayed in a newly refurbished room on the Ground Floor and although there was some traffic noise, it wasn't too bad. The room itself was very nice. I only paid £62 per night for the room on Laterooms so to be honest, I would have been happy with a broom closet but I got a fantastic deal and would have been happy paying twice that.
