It's location. Facilities seemed a bit out of date. Overall I liked the hotel. It was clean and the hotel is within easy walking distance to Cannery Row and the Aquarium. Some of the attention to detail was missing (Mirrors in the halls with unfinished edges). Also some of the features of the hotel were a bit out of date There was no on screen menu on the TV and no video on demand, instead they had a VCR and a vending machine to rent video cassettes (which I'm sure was state of the art in the 80s). But overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider the hotel again in the future.

Updated and luxurious rooms. Large, well furnished rooms with fireplaces and updated entertainment and internet. The staff is top-notch, the service is excellent and the entire experience was superb!

WE stayed over Labor Day. Crowded but quiet - breakfast is nicely assorted and food never runs out. Staff is friendly and very competent. Rooms are ample, but bathrooms need a good grout cleaning. Two sinks are a plus with kids. Aquarium tickets are a nice plus - get them here! Wine and Cheese event is too early (should be from 8-10pm).

It's a Best Western, so we knew it wasn't going to be luxurious. But we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was. Bed comfort was just OK. Wine/cheese reception and continental breakfast were nice. Desk staff were really courteous. $12/day parking fee, but you can leave your car in the garage for the day for free after you've checked out. It's a short, pleasant walk to Cannery Row and the Aquarium. You can buy Aquarium tickets at the hotel and get to enter at a special entrance, without standing in line. We'd stay here again.

The Victorian implies in their photos and ads that it is a hotel within a victorian home. it is infact no more than a cinder block motel with a Victorian Lobby. Not worth the money.

We've stayed at the Victorian Inn before but haven't been back for 5 years. It was just as nice as it's always been. The staff is friendly and professional, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The wine and cheese reception is a nice touch. The hotel is within walking distance to Cannery Row, the Aquarium and many other attractions. While the price is a little steep it's a quality hotel within walking distance to the ocean and other attractions. Check the prices at the Spindrift and the Monterey Plaza, now that's steep. If you want a less expensive place to stay you will most likely have to drive from there to Cannery Row. This is a nice quality, safe, clean hotel that's close to fun things to do.
