Good water pressure, room size beat expectations. Hard bed. The room was large, clean and well appointed.

My wife and I both felt this was a nice hotel. It is located a short walk from the train station and the Metro. You can walk to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. The only complain was that the bed and pillows were very hard. The bedroom and bathroom were clean. The service staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again and would recommend it to others.

Location. Price. It was simple and clean hotel. It was OK. But I would not choose to stay this hotel myself. It is in front of Via Cavour and noisy outside.

Very helpful staff, attractive restaurant and lobby. Old fixtures & decor; mediocre breakfast & a slow line for coffee machine; fairly noisy. This may have been a 4 star hotel when it opened in the '30s perhaps up to the 1950s, but time stopped there. Bathroom fixtures and windows need to be upgraded, and the vintage furniture is old and plain. Breakfast was not very good (undercooked scrambled eggs & bacon, along w/ the buffet basics). At least the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful and the restaurant/lobby areas were quite attractive.

Everything in the hotel is as old as the bricks of the building which was built in the time of the colosseum. It is very old, probably never stayed there, they need new everything in the rooms TV, beds, furniture and the bathrooms smelled very bad.

I chose this hotel because of the reviews it had received on Travel agent and was very pleased I did so. As mentioned else where the building was built in the mid 1930s and still has all the wonderful architectural touches of a Hercule Perot movie. The bathrooms are all recently renovated with marble and glass. This hotel is actually part of the "Mediteranian" hotel next door and shares a most beautiful dinning area in common. The buffet breakfast was well stocked and filled us up before our day of sightseeing. It is one block away from the main train station and a cab ride away from Rome's most sought after attractions. At the hotel's suggestion we rented a scooter from Bici Baci for a day and had the best time of our lives. I would most definiately stay here again.

Close to the central terminal - location convenient. It looks more like a 3 star hotel. Furniture looks very old. Elevator also very old and slow. Very busy street.

Hotel is in a great location if you plan to use Rome's buses, metro or trains. We actually walked about 1/2 block to our hotel when we got off the train from the airport. The front desk gentlemen were very nice and helpful and spoke english very well. When we asked for extra pillows and towels they were brought within in a very short period of time. The breakfast buffet was also very good. My only complaint is that the beds were not very comfortable at all, however when the rest of my family checked in a couple days later, & their beds were much better. So I am sure if we would have mentioned it, they would have switched our room but we never did.

One block from Central Station and all the transportation options that it provides; however, some spotty neighborhoods nearby. Very well maintained older facility; spacious guest rooms and bathrooms. Cannot recommend due to excessive street noise that filters into rooms. Go to bed early, because noise will have you up by 6:00 AM. Even a room change during my stay did not improve situation.

This hotel was a good, final experience in a 7 city tour. The room was spacious and clean, the bath likewise. It was in the back and off the street, which was a plus. The dining room is quite striking; be sure to notice the bowsprints supporting the ceiling beams. Staff were very helpful and courteous. Location to the station, opera, monuments, and underground was ideal. Well-recommended.

This was the last hotel in a seven city tour and we found it to be excellent. Within walking distance of the Terminii, the location is quite ideal for walking tours of the city. The rooms are large and spacious; bathrooms clean and fully functional in the grand Roman style. The dining/breakfast room is quite wonderful, the sea-creatures theme being wrought finely in a plethora of ceiling bowsprints. The buffet is generous and refreshed constantly. Reception staff wonderful. Highly recommended. Ask for a room off the street. The Romans are impatient and noisy drivers!

"We enjoyed our stay here for 6 days. It was a great location - close to everything major and within walking distance, but couldn't figure out the a/c and the maid couldn't speak much english. She told us to open the window for air, which got a bit noisy at night! Stay on the top floor to reduce the noise. The beds were comfy, but pillows were like cement bags. The bathroom/shower was great! Everyone was kind. Breakfast was just ok. Just remember to have a good time visiting the sites...You'll be tired enough at night to relax regardless of the street noise! Enjoy!"
