"The room was small and clean, but could use an upgrade with modern furniture. The only drawback was that we were not able to iron clothes in the room. Otherwise, staff were nice (except a few) and spoke english. The hotel was convenient (within a few miles) to most tourist attractions and to the train station. We took a trip to Florence by train for around 58 euro a person. The rooftop restaurant was an awesome ""chill"" spot after a day of sight seeing. Breakfast was great! It was one of my most enjoyable vacations."

Front desk staff, with the exception of one concierge, were rude & unfriendly. We asked one of them for a close restaurant to get a late night snack, and he sent us to a club, with strobe lights, and men with no shirts on dancing at the bar. I think he was playing a joke on us... The room was musty and damp, very outdated, and the bed & pillows were as hard as a rock. Our bed was actually two twin beds pushed together, with rough wool blankets. Breakfast ("American Breakfast") was included, but offered very little appetizing foods (a tray of sliced cheese, runny eggs, stale pastry, hard boiled eggs, canned fruit cocktail). The worst part of the stay was the remodeling project that was taking place a few feet from our room, which produced very loud BANGING, beginning in the morning, and going to at least noon. We understand that projects need to be completed, but they really should not have booked the room directly next to the work being done. The lights and the TV were tricky to get to work, and the TV had mostly staticy stations. The location was convenient for walking the city, but stay away from the train station itself at night, it's not safe. There are many better areas in Rome to stay, and many hotels with more updated accomodations. Even staff members at other hotels we visited said that everything at the Mediterraneo is "original" and usually they get just a lot of business travelers. We wouldn't stay here again, the lobby is beautiful, but that's about it. Pay attention to the room bill if you do stay, they tried to charge us an additonal 700 euros when we checked out, for "mini bar charges" that we didnt use.

This was our first time in Rome. The location near Termini was great. We could get buses, trains or the metro and the hotel was within walking distance to most of the major sites we wanted to visit as well. Termini has lots of shops and eateries, which came in handy when we were too tired to search for a place to eat or if we wanted to grab lunch to take with us for the day. The hotel staff was great. We were bumped to an earlier flight so we arrived at 9am and they still let us check into our room, which we greatly appreciated. The room was small and it's older decor, but the bathroom had been redone nicely. The breakfast buffet was good - lots of options to choose from. The rooftop restaurant is pricey, but worth it at least once for the view. The hotel staff was very helpful when we had questions or needed reservations. We'd definitely recommend staying here if it's your first time in Rome. It's not the fanciest hotel or most romantic location, but the staff and service were great and for ease of getting around, the location can't be beat.

"Modern clean hotel with 2 elevators, fantastic full breakfast buffet, helpful multi-lingual staff, one block from Termini train/subway/bus station. Excellent restaurants within a block, don't miss the Trambus 110 just across in Termini for a quick overview tour. We would stay here again in a heartbeat."

Nice hotel, friendly staff, nice roof top garden bar. Location was not the best, close to train station but neighborhood a little shady. Hotel was nice, staff was hospitable, we left very early in the morning to catch our flight and they were kind enough to pack us a boxed breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Pillows were not very good, this may be typical of Europe though.

The hotel was adequate for our needs. The location was good as it was very near the train station and the metro. However, the location was a somewhat long walk to some of the tourist attractions that were not near the metro. The room was clean and the maid service was good. The buffet breakfast was adequate. The air conditioning was not available because of the season, however an opening window was available. This is a somewhat large hotel and there were some large groups of somewhat "noisey" teenagers staying at the hotel. A very expensive internet service was available in the lobby, however an internet cafe was available nearby with a very reasonable rate. I would classify this as a typical mid-range tourist hotel.

"This hotel was in a great location for walking to some of the greate sites in Rome. Also, it was extremely close to the train station and the metro line. The breakfast was great, and it was nice to have a restaurant inside the hotel, which we used when we didn't feel like finding another one in the rain. I also highly recommend taking advantage of the tour offer of the Vatican Museums (even though it's expensive) because it got us to the front of the extremely long lines there."

First time to Rome for my wife, daughter, and myself. Hotel was wonderful and very convenient to where we wanted to go, either walking, metro, or train. Staff was polite and helpful, especially getting taxi's ahead of time for our different departures. Only unimpressive part was restaurant at top. Pricey, and we enjoyed better fare elsewhere. Would gladly stay here again.

You couldn't get a more convenient location...1/2 blk to subway, 1 blk to Termini Station & most buses. Laundry 1 1/2 blks. South and grocery store nearby. Room service was good and prompt, never lost hot water and breakfast buffet was varied enough over the 9 nights we stayed. Bed was very firm and pillows were hard (bring your own). The staff was extremely helpful in assisting us getting information or tickets to sites. Hotel was safe, as was the neighborhood....never saw any pickpockets or criminal activity.

"Hotel is 2 mins away from Termini Station, very quiet/safe. One can walkto major sites, get all day metro/bus pass to Vatican etc. Hotel has Old World Charm with elements of Art Deco decor... good breakfast & helpful staff but not very friendly. Bathrooms very good, great water pressure, crisp white sheets/ well keptanbut rooms that need to be re-done. Telephone in room super expensive, 3 locals 19euros!!!"

No complains as far as accomodation is concern. The hotel is very elegant except for the room, it is outdated. But I did not mind them because of exhaustion. The roof top is a plus. Excellent location a block away from Termini station. Overall, its an A. I would recommend this to my family.

"Great location near main rail station. Stored luggage with porter after check-out. Breakfast (scrambled eggs, fruit, cereal, pastries, cold cuts, cheese) was good, but a bit understaffed (it's a buffet, but you need the staff for coffee.) My room, not on the street side, was incredibly quiet. I did not eat at the hotel restaurant, but the daily fixed menu and prices looked superior to nearby restaurants. Great walking city. Hotel is 0.75 miles from the Coliseum/Forum; 1 mile from Spanish steps; 2.5 miles from Vatican, the furthest tourist site from the hotel."
