hotle was lovely the room large and the bathroom great but it was way too hot felt like sleeping in a sauna and it was not very warm outside.

Hotel was okay for the money paid, staff very helpfull and friendly. Would not recommend as it was too noisy with doors slamming in the early hours. Perfect location only a short walk to city centre. Bar closed which was dissapointing as we wanted a hotel with a bar!

This hotel is easy to find and also suitably placed to get into the centre of York within 10 minutes at a dawdle. I found the staff very friendly, especially a night porter named Ben, who truely proved himself to be an asset. The staff went above and beyond the required level of service even going so far as to find out information on activities and things to do in York by searching for them themselves.The hotel is in the process of being redecorated and from the evidence of the quiet, never disturbing, renovations the place will look immaculate subsequently.All in all i would heartily recommend this to anyone i know and will most likely be staying there again on my next trip to York.

A colleague and I stayed in a twin ensuite room at the Blue Bridge when in York for a 2 day symposium, so it was intended merely as a base for the night. Check in was straighforward and the young man very polite. Our room, although in some need of repainting and a bit tired looking was very comfortable and clean. It was warm too which was nice as the weather was cold and wet, although we ended up having to open some windows as it got a bit too much eventually! Breakfast the following morning was fine and quickly served, although having ordered coffee it would have been helpful to have it explained that this was for self service from a thermos on one of the side tables. When I did find this out and got some, it was no more than tepid, which suggested it had been standing for some considerable time and not checked on. I would have asked for fresh except that we needed to check out and depart for our conference. This is really the only criticism.For the price, it is very good value as long as you don't expect anything too fancy, which we didn't. Would stay again if staying in the area.

Very easy to find. Staff very obliging. No Night Porter, so there was nobody to complain to when we were woken up at 3-30am by other inconsiderate guests, but this did not spoil our stay. Hotel is ideally located for the city centre.

Room would have been very small for a couple but ok for single, although still quite cramped.Very handy for the City centre.
