Room was huge. Full bath, giant counters, great. Pool and hot tub at perfect temperature and not crowded. The price was half of what we would expect at similar locations. Quiet, well insulated rooms. Friendly neighbors. We arrived a half hour early and they allowed us to check in anyway.

We liked the clerk who checked us in (he asked which floor we wanted, friendly, knew local attractions, etc). Got to the room and thought we were thrown back into the 70's. Faucet fixture was very loose, shower was worn out. The ""extended breakfast"" didn't start till 8am (a little late for me) and consisted of hot cereal, apples, coffee, and some dried-out cookies (that's right, I had a peanut butter cookie for breakfast). Staff working the breakfast and at check out were visibly grumpy. Wont stay here again even though is was 1 block from stateline.

About 20 of us flew from New York to Tahoe for a Wedding that took place up on the observation deck of Heavenly and reception followed at the Montbleu. I searched for another hotel other then the Montbleu because it was too pricey to stay there. I found the Blue Lake Inn and couldn't be happier. I recomended it to others in our group but only my brother listened to me and he also stayed there . One of our friends that checked into the Montbleu left them to stay at the Blur Lake Inn. The hotel was clean and the people were very nice. They had an outdoor pool and hot tub that were taken care of and we enjoyed them both. The rates were great and lots of things to walk to for shopping and food. They had breakfast for us in the morning. Coffee was starbucks, and bakery items were fresh every morning. I know this cause i usually saw the man who delivered them. They offered free internet in the office which came in handy for printing out directions when needed. i would suggest to anyone to stay there you won't be sorry. The office help was friendly and could answer any quetion we had. Trust me it was much better than the big pricey hotels and cozier.

We went to South Lake Tahoe to gamble and have a fun weekend. We loved the fact that our hotel was only about a block away from the Casinos. We walked everywhere, just as we had wanted. Close to the beach as well.
