General Description

A former coaching inn situated in the heart of Peterborough, minutes from the railway and bus station. The hotel has been refurbished with over half of the bedrooms having been refurbished to executive standards, which include full air conditioning, mini bar facilities, superior levels of comfort, black and white marble tiled bathrooms with power showers, trouser press with ironing centre, satellite television and a current dvd library available from reception. Public areas are spacious and airy with a classical decor and antique furniture. Complimentary WiFi access is available to hotel guests in public areas complete with work station. Contrasting with the antiquity of the public areas,The Brasserie has a more modern appearance serving traditional, as well as more contemporary dishes. Pastroudis offers snacks and meals throughout the day. Floor Service is available for those who prefer the tranquility of their bedroom. Adjacent to the Hotel is our modern purpose built Conference Centre which is fully air conditioned with naturally daylit rooms. The Hotel has a total of fourteen Meeting Rooms with the largest accommodating up to 250 persons.

We chose the hotel based on its location in the country. It has a prominent spot in the Centre of Peterborough near to the shopping mall and all the town facilities.We were in the area to attend Birthday celebrations for a friend nearby.The hotel was comfortable and the staff very friendly, especially as we arrived early, ahead of the advertised check in time.

good hotel, good location. Food is excellent and rooms are OK. Executive rooms are nice and worth the upgrade. Right int he centre, plenty of scope for food and nightlfe although the food is top class. Breakfast is expensive so try to get a deal included. It is good though! Very comfortable, recommended hotel. One of the best in Peternoro I have stayed at as a regular visitor on business.

Hotel in a main street, old building, room comfortable, didn't eat in hotel at all.We didn't get breakfast included in the price and ate out in the evening. The hotel was convenient for the town centre. The room was comfortable. Staff were reasonably helpful. Some parts of the hotel had been refurbished, others still required a little attention. Reasonable city hotel.

i had a company party to attend in peterborough, so after usig laterooms before, i decided to book the bull the same way,. you cant fault the car parking or the friendlyness of the reception staff at all, but however you can fault the room.. i agree with several of the other comments in the sense of, do laterooms only have acess to the older poorer rooms?. On arriving in our room we had no air con, our room looked nothing like the pctures, the carpet had deffinatley seen better days,, the window frame was so rotten that it didnt even lock close ( thank god we where 2 floors up), and one of the blinds didnt close either, in fact it had fallen off the window, which was fine up until 7am ! so by 8.30am i had checked out ! also just one last thing the vent didnt work in the bathroom either, so when the shower was running we had to have the bathroom dooor open ,which i wouldnt have minded if i was sharing a room with my husband, but as i was a company party, i was sharing with my general manager !!All in all for what the room cost it was bearable but the rest of my party stayed at the travelodge for nly Â£15.00 more which seemed a better deal. If my room hadnt of been this bad then i would in deed be writting a more postive review

Because of a planned busy day on sunday we decided on a fairly early night on the Saturday (20/09/08) and were in bed by 22.45, from then on until exactly 0600 the next morning we had to lay awake listening to thumping disco music from some sort of local night club. Due to tiredness, Sunday was ruined. It was outrageous, we should have been warned prior to committing ourselves to staying there.

Ordinarily this hotel would be out of my league as it fully justifies its normal tariff. If you get the chance to stay there at late rooms rates then leap at it, take it, grab it. The rooms are fabulous, the art on the walls remarkable, the ambience lovely and the staff and service excellent. You won't fault it, these people are serious about the hotel business and deserve to succeed.
