Very good, excellent location & very quiet. Room was very small though for an executive status, but for an over night was more than enough. Would stay again.

"This was a great hotel, and we will stay here again when we return to London. The location is great, away from crowds, but close to parks, museums, and good restaraunts. The staff was attentive and answered all our questions and helped in anyway they could. We were truly sad to leave. Breakfast was good, but could be considered sparse by some."

I paid £89 for a 3* hotel and it wasn't worth it. This was essentially a couple of converted houses. The inside of the room was fine, but the carpets were unpleasant, the windows opened out onto brick walls, and the bathroom was minute. I wouldn't stay again. I wouldn't pay £89 for it. The rack rate was quoted as ?£150 and this was vastly inflated. I was tempted becuase i thought it was a bargain and it wasn't.

"Very small but immaculate and comfortable room with flat screen tv, bath/shower combo. A/C only worked intermittently, but open window worked fine in fall weather. Staff friendly, continental breakfast quite filling. Super location for tube access, internet cafes and mini-groceries. Loved our stay."

The hotel is very close to central London with two tube stations within a five minute walk (bayswater & Queensway) The hotel is off Bayswater Road and is situated on a quiet street. The Hotel was been fitted with new carpets and was having a lick of paint- so it looked good. My only concern was the left luggage room- its not very safe-so dont leave anything of value- when i collect my bag- I walked in off the street picked it up & left again- didnt see anyone!Having said all that I would stay again because of how quiet my stay was- its not easy to find a quiet hotel in London!

Byron Hotel near Hyde parkHotel fitted our needs well. we attended an event at Hyde park which is only a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Would use the hotel for the same purpose again. Air-conditioning left a little to be desired and room a touch small, otherwise it was clean and nicely presented,

We got placed in a basement room that had a cracked sink, building rubbish blocking the window, no double bed and a bathroom door that was broken and meant I got trapped in the bathroom. The rooms are very small. Despite advertising smoking rooms and double beds on late rooms, the hotel was unable to provide these. Quite simply this is not a 4 star. The hotel did change our room for the second night but the experience of the first night ruined everything. The most telling thing about this hotel was that they took payment upfront. This probably indicates that they have had experiences of disgruntled guests refusing to pay. I would not be surprised. The staff seemed embarrassed about the situation yet unable to do anything to rectify it. I would have refused to pay the full bill had they not taken payment in advance. A very unpleasant experience.

Great location, right next to Hyde Park and minutes from Notting Hill. Very close to bus, metro and lots of restaurants. Rooms are really clean, modern, and quiet, with large comfortable beds. Staff were very helpful. A must stay when in London.

I stayed at the Byron in early February with two other women. The "triple" was a double with a roll-away, but was perfectly comfortable since we were only in the room to sleep and get ready. Our package included a "Continental Breakfast" which was MORE than enough to keep us going all morning (and saved us at least $10 per day). The location was excellent - less than 5 mins walk from two separate tube stops with connections to anywhere you wanted to go. The bathroom was a separate bath and WC, which was convenient, and they were sparkling clean the entire time. The flat-screen TV and desk were helpful. We three women felt very safe in the neighborhood. There's ample dining, shopping and an internet cafe within easy walking distance. Don't be put-off by the slightly shady hostels fronting Bayswater or the tacky souvenier shops nearby. Seriously, this is a great hotel for the money.

Our room was tiny, but had a nice full sized bed. You had to duck under the tv to get into the room. But the bathroom was huge with a gigantic bathtub that invited me to soak immediately! The whole hotel was very clean and the staff was courteous. The breakfast was there, but nothing to write home about--cereal, yogurt, white bread. The location is awesome--steps to Kensington Palace, near all transportation, really walking distance to many sites. Lots of pubs and restaurants all around. Lots of slimy tourist hucksters as well. Beware, the only thing open after 11pm is the petrol station a block away. There you will find all the Americans with jet lag and the late night munchies (actually dinnertime for us). They have some good microwaveable food, if you are in need. Our electricity was fine and normal. Heat was fine. I dont know what the other reviewers dealt with, but we didnt have any of these issues. They provide an electric kettle in the room with tea bags, instant coffee, powdered creamer and sugar. I brought my own good coffee and a Melitta filter, and "nicked" real creamers from the breakfast room, so it worked out perfectly. Great value.

This is the WORST hotel that I've ever stayed at. The rooms look nothing like the picture. I had a single room as I was passing through town on business. The room was dirty and worn, the bathroom was disgusting. Everything about this room was grimy and worn. Not to mention that it wasn't particularly convenient to get to the airport or central london from this location. The neighbourhood of the hotel itself had absolutely nothing good to offer. Would never ever stay in this hotel, total waste of money.

We had 5 adults on this trip and we had 2 rooms booked - the staff was very friendly and helpful- we had questions on side trips and best way to travel to these destinations in London and the staff was an excellent resource- all special requests were honored with smile. The free breakfast was sparse but good quality - the rooms were clean and roomy. The Hotel decor was charming and the location was perfect for us. Close to tubes and buses and nice restaurants. We would stay at this Hotel again in the future.

I spent 3 days in London and the Byron was a great base to travel from-close to lots of sites and the tube-I was traveling alone and I felt safe in the neighborhood-there is a local pub down the street and plenty of shopping nearby-the only problem was with the toilet needing to be flushed several times each use but then several people told me the water pressure in general is weak-even with this, I would stay there again

"While this hotel is listed as 'fully air conditioned' the majority of availble cooling at the hotel was by open doors and windows. While there was an air conditioning unit in my room, it turned out not to be functioning propperly, and worse, the staff routinely shut it off in the middle of the day allowing the room to soar in temperature while I was out. Some special candy a friend asked me to buy and bring back totally melted during the time it was in the room."

This hotel is perfectly located for business or leisure with public transport close by and lots of restaurants to choose from in Bayswater and Queensway. The staff were friendly and the quality of the room was perfectly acceptible (though no view - a brick wall directly outside the window). However the hotel was being refurbished and although I'd requested a quiet room I ended up on the ground floor next to the builders. However for London the price was economical - I wonder if it'll remain such good value when the refurb is complete.

The prmised in-room wireless internet was not available in our room, which was on the top floor. We had to use it in the lobby lounge, which was not air conditioned (although the room was pleasantly cool duiring a hot sticky week).
