Had a nice 3 night stay. Staff was nice and helpful. Room was nice and peaceful. The view was beautiful overlooking the Gulf. New shopping mall was close by and weather was beautiful. Of course my wife enjoyed running over to Destin to the Silversands Discount Mall to do some shopping while we were there. Pinneapple Willy's ribs were still outstanding, just the way they always are.

Of all the hotels/resorts we have stayed at, this is by far the best. We had a 1 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath. The livingroom had a couch with a hide-away bed. We were three adults staying for five nights. Plenty big for amount of people and length of time. Kitchen fully equipped to do all your cooking if so desired. If cooking is not on on your list of things to do on your vacation, then there are several very nice restaurants within walking distance. Our room was VERY clean and very well maintained. Try to avoid the elevators during check-out and check-in times if you are in a hurry. Not quite enough to sustain the number of guests coming and going at those perticular times of day. But again, what's your hurry, you are on vacation!!!! Only bad thing about the place -- we had to leave. Will without a doubt stay again.

We arrived early on the day of check in and were given our parking pass, room information, pool passes and information about the resort. We was nervous after having read one bad review. But to our relief, our room was nice and everything was clean, we had a balcony and great view of the gulf and 4th of July fireworks from our room. The staff was friendly and helpful. We are not high maintenance people and did not expect to get catered to as it sounded like others in one review did. My only complaint would be the elevators, all three were working but there was still a short wait (5-10 minutes) to get up and down at peak times. This is not the satff's fault, but rather a design flaw in the building.

This was my first time going to Panama City. I decided to stay at this condo/hotel because I wanted the option of using a kitchen. When I first walked into my room, I was so surprised! It was fabulous. It was like a home away from home. The condo was spacious and had so many comforts of home. A great gourmet kitchen, a large balcony that overlooked the ocean and the bathrooms was awesome. I rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo on the 22nd floor. My boyfriend and I had a great vacation! The beach in front of our hotel was awesome. I especially liked that fact that we had a beach lounge chairs and umbrellas that were included. This is a huge plus. We also went to St. Andrew's State Park and took the boat shuttle to Shell Island and spent the day there! It was the highlight our our trip. I definitely will be going back and I will be staying at the Calypso again.
