Hotel Capitol has a prime location in the centre of Bucharest, situated on one of the busiest streets possessing many shops/bars/cafes and close to all of the historical attractions. Public transport links are plentiful (metro/bus/trolley bus/taxis) and the airport is a 20 min drive. The impressive exterior of hotel Capitol paints a somewhat deceiving picture of a hotel needing renovation, but nevertheless has a prime location and is clean and functional. WS1007. The whole exterior of the hotel has been completely renovated. The white 19th century building looks hugely impressive when lit up at night. Medium in size and in fair condition all rooms are decorated in a pea green / white colours. Rooms are also dated and require renovation. Bathrooms are also in fair condition. Although not luxurious rooms are functional and extremely reminiscent of the communist era. Small/medium in size the lobby is always buzzing with activity, but in need of renovation. Built in an L-shape, with the reception at one end and a small travel agency at the other, the decor is simple and dated. The medium sized restaurant is, again, simple and dated, and yet functional and clean. 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 20 kms to the nearest airport (bucharest), 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station (universitate), 6 km to the nearest station (gara de nord), 8 km to the nearest fair site (romexpo).
