I will definitely come back to the Cardinal. A nice, "train station businessman" vibe for this art decoish hotel right in the middle of downtown Palo Alto. I got a reasonable rate on a home football weekend and could walk or ride a train anywhere I needed to go.

Do pay the extra to avoid a "European" room unless you like going into the hall to use the bathroom.

Great location. Great value. My son and I were visiting Stanford. Easy walking distance to campus's free shuttle. We came in from San Francisco on Caltrain, easy walk to hotel, great location to experience Palo Alto. No air conditioning but ceiling fan was fine for the weather we had. Construction noise outside made for an early wake-up, my son slept through it. Definitely will stay again.
