We booked and would not stay again. Upon arrival we were billed although the reservation had been pre-paid. We were also given a 2 bedroom unit.(requested a queen bed unit) The gas smell was terrible and we were told to turn on the fan. When we refused and asked for another room, we were told we might have to move if others came. Then we were informed that the gas fireplace was broken and would be repaired tomorrow. The one in the bedroom was broken and there was an electric heater. It is a large space and at one time probably nice but is in need of repair. The staff appeared to not really care and were not helpful. It is a dark long walk to town also.

We spent Thanksgiving there and found the individual cabins beautiful, cozy and our 5 cabin family had a great time. Rooms had gas fireplaces which added warmth when you needed it and just flick the switch. Grounds and rooms were clean, computer in lobby or wifi too, the staff was very pleasant. We have it on our next year list already.

I was surprised to find out that the inn is composed of separate little buildings/cabins. You park your car directly in front of your cabin front door. The inn and neighborhood is very quite. The staff were very friendly, they even upgraded us to a better suite for the same price.

Having lived in Carmel for 20 years, we were very happy to be able to stay at the Carmel Resort Inn. The cottages were spacious and comfortable with quaint shutters on windows and Carmel charm. The bathroom was okay . . . little trouble with hot water in the morning when the property was full. It was a great location and excellent value for the money. Nice to have a frig and microwave in the room. Great parking! Breakfast was very so so. Fortunately close location to many restaruants and Whole Foods was close enough, by car, so that we could get many fresh items and re-heat in room.

The Inn was okay. The room was clean and the area quiet, but it was nothing special. The downtown area/Beach was too far to walk, and parking in those areas are limited. If you are on a budget and need a place to sleep, this is the place for you. If you are seeking something a little more special or something with atmosphere, keep looking.
