excellent value in convenient location---neighborhood okThis hotel is a few short blocks to ALL the downtown Athens action and on the perimeter of this particular tourist zone.A block or 2 further along Athena road the surroundings might start feeling a little dodgy for some.The desk service is perfunctory but efficient and the self serve breakfast is basic but fine. Rooms are slightly shabbily classic and the small antique cage elevator with surrounding spiral marble staircase is a very cool mini attraction on its own.There is a rooftop viewing area but nothing there-unlike others that have a bar and seating. For the reasonable rate we paid we would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

The cecil Hotel is a lovely, simple hotel in a strategic location for seeing the sights of Athens. The street is noisey, but the Hotel is quiet and clean with helpful staff and a lovely breakfast. The hot shower always felt good after a day of walking. A view of the Acropolis from our bedroom window.

We stayed here because it was walking distance to the Parthenon and other major sites. Staff was nice. Good place to stay if you are just there to sleep and are out most of the day going to all of the museums and sites.
