General Description

After undergoing a complete refurbishment in 2006 the hotel offers small but modern and tastefully decorated rooms in a central location with excellent transport links. The hotel is situated right on Edgware Road which is lined with many shops and the best Middle Eastern restaurants in London. It is walking distance or a couple of bus stops from Oxford Street, Marble Arch and Hyde Park. Within 5-mins walk there is a lovely residential Little Venice area for a pleasant stroll along the canals. The hotel is also close to Paddington train station (1 tube stop or 2mins by taxi) which has fast train connections to Heathrow airport. The closest tube station Edgware Road is served by 4 different tube lines that enable easy reach of any part of London. Also, there are many buses just outside the hotel. The property is a 4-storey white building with no interesting features. Rooms are reported to be quite small and basic but tastefully furnished in a modern and comfortable style. Rooms feature cream-coloured walls, light coloured wooden furniture, small desks and wall-mounted TVs. Bathrooms are reported to be small to medium in size, clean and well-maintained. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there are many restaurants in the proximity. Continental buffet breakfast is served 7.00 - 10.00am Monday to Friday and 7.30 - 10.30am on weekends.

Hotel is clean and good value at the LateRooms price of £89 which I paid. Breakfast was continental style and facilities were good. My only negative was that it was very hot, even with the heating off and windows open - not sure where the warmth was coming from but it was a bit too much...... very reasonable for the price and would use them again if needed.

The hotel is approximately a 10 minute walk (depending upon how fast you walk!) from the main Edgware Road tube station. There are two Edgware Road tube stations - one on the District and Circle lines and the other on the Bakerloo line. The one on the Bakerloo line is actually one Edgware Road and is slightly closer to the hotel, the other is just off Edgware Road, but is easier to use as you can get the tube straight from Liverpool Street. The hotel is in a middle eastern residential area, absolutely no trouble at all and there are plenty of convenience shops which are cheaper than in the city centre. They are quite strict about not letting you check in until 2pm but there is a luggage room available. We had room 207 and 208 which are to the rear of the building and were therefore nice and quiet. The rooms were a good size, especially for London, and more importantly very clean. The bathroom was completely adequate and the room had a big flat panel TV and air conditioning. The breakfast, served between 7-10am is continental with all the usual cereals, juices, toast etc. Basic, but fine to set you up for the day ahead. We had no problems at all with this hotel and if you get it cheap enough it's well worth considering. The only negative would be it's distance from the attractions but we felt this was far outweighed by the standard compared to that of others which may be better located.

The room was boiling hot. There were not enough towels for the number of guests.I have left a complaint with the hotel chain re what I found in my bed on getting in, but it would strongly indicate that the bedding had not been changed between guests. What a lovely thought!! If houskeeping could be addressed, room temperature made reasonable and receptionists made a little more proactive/interested, the hotel could be value for money as it is in a good location, the breakfast was basic but fine and the rooms were dressed to a decent standard if not for the lack of cleaning.

Very quiet, very clean and inexpensive. An excellent buffet style breakfast. Not the nicest part of London but good bus links into the centre and great for a couple of nights in London.

FunctionalI stop in hotels 3-4 times a week so i am oftern spoilt however the best i can do to describe this hotel is Functional. The staff were helpful and friendly and helped me out with directions however i would not reccomend this hotel to friends who are looking to have a relaxing weekend away, or even the business traveller. The price i paid was far to high for the location and standard of room but not being very familiar with London i did not know that at the time with the bathroom being very small. Breakfast was simple but again functional.Do Go - If you need to be at that end of Edgware road and location is your upmost priorityDon't go - If you need just about anything else!

Initial problem was that none of the London Cabbies had heard of the Hotel, plus the front is just a single shop-front and we had driven past it twice before we saw it!The \"double\" room was about the size of a shoe box, with not even enough room for a wardrobe, just a hanging rail bolted to the wall and, had I taken our family cat along with me, she was quite safe from being \"swung\" in the microscopic Bathroom. That having been said, the Receptionist was friendly, and the place was fairly clean and relatively tidy.

Great value for money hotel. If you get a room at the rear of the hotel it is very quiet considering you are in London. Excellent aircon unit in room. No evening meal available but went to local Italian restaurant, Zonzo, recommended by reception - fantastic food!

What a result. £44 for a night. Clean comfortable modern and included a breakfast. Staff polite and helpful.Wow. If I wanted to be critical the tv reception was not great (who cares! ) and there was a little bit of guest noise from above (lack of soundproofing). The breakfast was a basic cereal toast yoghurt tinned fruit affair but each as much as you want and at that price it was an absolute bonus. I would definitely stay here again at this price and more. Why stay at the Metropole just down the road for about 5x the price.

Lets be honest it is only fair to reveiw an establishment in the context of the price paid.Being on the uk poker tour an afordable adiquate room was what was required and the comfort inn edgware rd provided this.It would not be my choice for a holiday although the room was perfectly clean and the service fine. The corridors and reception are a bit ofputting but for the money it is good value.Didn`t make breakfast as didn`t get in until 4am most nights but on a couple of occasions the crossants had been delivered and left at reception when i got in and they were fine lol.

The room for £50 is what you would expect. It was clean but basic. I would stay again but only at the discounted rate, I certainly would not pay £166 which is the full rate.

Fair value (in London terms) at the £69 paid for B&B. Had a free updrade from the single booked to a room with a double bed, which was nice. Reasonable size, modern comfortable room, confortable bed with nice crisp bedding and light weight douvet, right temperature and quiet too. Only problem was that they had problems with their satelite tv, so no BBC1, BBC2 or ITV. Also a radio would have been nice. Other than that, I couldn't fault it. Take note though, it can be hard to find from the street. It's 5 mins walk up the Edgeware Rd from the tube station, opposite the petrol station and pedestrian crossing.
