Very modern lovely decor; located on the RiverWalk; room was very roomy. Difficult parking; had to use valet which was a long wait. This hotel was very impressive. Not the largest of hotels, but a quiet gem with a very modern atmosphere. The earthy decor and earth tone colors made it look very trendy and attractive. When we walked in we enjoyed the open atrium overlooking a wonderful view of the RiverWalk. We sat out in the patio and enjoyed a quiet area of the river walk. The room was very roomy with a seperate living area. I traveled with 2 other women, so the abundance of mirrors and dressing areas was a plus. I would recommend this hotel.

Beatiful spaceous suite rooms. All rooms are suites. Comfortable beds. New Hotel. On riverwalk, close to restaurants. Will come back for sure.

Hotel is conveniently located to Riverwalk and for sight seeing. Except for one waitor at Monday morning breakfast, all staff in hotel were exceptional, very helpful and attentive. The city is tourist friendly and people go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Great restaurants are everywhere. Would definitely recommend staying at the Contessa. The city and the hotel made celebrating our 40th anniversary something special.

Suites with views were good overall. Bed was incredibly uncomfortable - and we travel every week for work, so we're used to hotel beds. What's with the crib-sized pillows on the king-sized beds??!! The staff were really not trained well (not rude, just incredibly slow, and just don't get it). The food at the only restaurant is actually a good value for hotel food, but there's much better along the riverwalk. The location actually makes up for everything else - the hotel is just around the bend in the Riverwalk from all the lively restauants. Being around the bend makes it less noisy and more private, yet still is less than half a block from all the activities.

Beautiful hotel. Perfect location on the Riverwalk also it's the location of "Marriage Island." Very clean. Bathroom is nice size. Suggested improvement would be better bed pillows. If the view is at all important to you, pay for the river view room because the city view room is exactly that and not a pretty sight. Easy walking distance to Alamo and other sites/attractions. Staff is extremely friendly and eager to help. Be prepared for per day valet parking.

From the minute we arrived we were impressed with this Hotel. From the bellman (young man) who greeted us as our taxi arrived and took complete control of our luggage, to the Front Desk staff -- everyone was professional, very pleasant, and very helpful. The Hotel is beautifully decorated and designed -- from the large open atrium overlooking the main "lounge area" incorporating the Cork Bar and entrance to the hotel restaurant, Los Ramblas, to the beautiful portrait of a "Contessa" that greets you as you head to the front desk. The hotel is situated on an area of the Riverwalk that is removed from the more "hectic/busy" areas which makes for a most pleasant and relaxing atmosphere while having breakfast, lunch or dinner outside. Additionally the hotel provides accommodating outside seating along the river for just having drinks or relaxing and watching people and the river boats go by. The pool area is very nice with both lounge chairs and "couch-like" seating under a pergola. The drinks from the bar are mediocre and we did find ourselves wishing for something more upgraded, but the pool staff are very pleasant and attentive. I recommend allowing time for a visit to the Spa which is located on the top floor along with the pool and fitness center -- we were very pleased with the quality of spa services we received. The hotel restaurant, Los Ramblas, had very good food and we had an enjoyable breakfast there each morning. All of the hotel staff that we came in contact with -- even while only riding the elevator -- were VERY pleasant and professional. All-in-all we would highly recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to San Antonio!! We can't wait to go back.

Had the best time! Took our first Sister Trip together for my Sister's Birthday! Went to spa at the hotel! Awesome Hot Stone Facial! Ask xxx or xxx...they have much helpful information on places to go and things to do! Walking distance perfect to everywhere! Definitely recommend Hotel Contessa!

Clean and neat. Cold hot tub. Nice, clean yet cheap motel. Low occupancy made for a quiet stay. Located conveniently tom expressway. Felt very safe. Staff was friendly as well.

Unbelievable resort - one of the best I've stayed in. The pool/spa was amazing! The restaurant didn't have enough choices.
