Such a peaceful environment. Hardly noticed the neighbors at all. Spacious room. Beautiful creek in the background. Staff was courteous and friendly. Great weekend getaway for a hectic and busy couple.

The hotel was clean and when we checked in the first assigned room was moldy smelling. They upgraded us to another room and that room was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfeast was a bit skimpy and could be improved. Other than that I would stay there again. Good deal for price

The Creekside Inn is located right on El Camino Real, which is a main commercial street in Palo Alto. The hotel grounds surround Matadero Creek and have beautiful, large trees that overhang and shade the buildings. Most of the buildings appear to have been built in the 1960's, but the rooms are pleasant and fairly large. Our room had two double beds and a pull-out couch, so we could sleep two adults and our two teen-aged children easily. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There's a morning continental breakfast with coffee, rolls and fruit and a outdoor courtyard in which to eat, surrounded by birdfeeders. There is also a very complete and well-stocked deli/market with a great selection of beer and wine, as well as a restaurant. We ate at a fabulous taqueria a couple of blocks south (El Grullense) and the Thai restaurant across the street (Thai City).

Nice enough neighborhood and the hotel rooms are quiet for being so close to El Camino Real. There are a number of other restaurants and lots of shopping, including a Fry's Electronics which is within walking distance. If our room had had a better bed, I'd give it five stars, but our bed was a little tired and saggy. On the whole, a nice spot with a friendly staff at a reasonable price.

The Creekside in was very clean property and we really enjoyed our one night there. The rooms were beautifuly and the complimentary water was a plus. The only thing we didn't like was that the check-in staff messed up on our reservation. We made reservations on Orbitz.com, but it didn't show up in their computer. Good thing I had the confirmation number printed. After showing my paperwork to the staff, they were able to clear up the misunderstanding. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!
