Welcome to Crompton House Guest House, an attractive Victorian residence rated 3 Stars offering comfortable, relaxing accommodation with an excellent English breakfast to set you up for the day in the Lake District. We are ideally situated within easy walking distance of the villages of Windermere and Bowness on Windermere and with ferry access to Ambleside and Lakes end. The area is a true walkers dream. Walks ranging from ambling strolls to longer, scenic fell walks commence on our doorstep. Local attractions nearby include the recently refurbished ‘World of Beatrix Potter’, Steam boat museum and Wordsworth Rydal Mount and Dove Cottage, at nearby Grasmere. Crompton House Bed and Breakfast Guest House is a strictly Non-Smoking Guest House retaining lots of Victorian character. The warm friendly atmosphere creates a relaxed and homely feel. Included in our charming Cumbria Bed and Breakfast are free car parking and internet access. Windermere and Bowness on Windermere also offer a fantastic selection of restaurants and bars to suite all palates and purses. There is free parking available on site but it is not always guaranteed, however there is plenty of free parking in the surrounding area. Internet access (Wi-Fi) is also available and guests are entitled to free use of the leisure facilities at nearby Low Wood Club aprox 3 miles away. (conditions apply when using leisure facilities, it is recommended that you book them in advance to avoid dissapointment). Check in times are from 14.00hrs until 20.30hrs if arrival outside of these times must be by prior arrangement, we will be happy to try and accommodate guests requests. We are sorry we do not longer accept children under the age of 8 years old. All in all, Windermere provides an ideal short break, but don’t just take our word for it; come and see for yourself!
