Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Facilities aging and behind standard for other hotels visited recently -- out of balance with sticker price of hotel stay. I've visited the Crowne Plaza in Albany before for conferences, but this is the first time I've stayed there. The rooms were quiet and adequate, but the bathroom was significantly smaller than other 3 star hotels I've stayed in, and the plumbing not as clean or well maintained. We had an issue with the smoke detector beeping when we were there that took two visits from maintenance and multiple hours to fix. Balancing this, all of the hotel staff were wonderful. I've eaten at the hotel restaurant before, which is very good. Overall, though, the hotel is overpriced, being the only 3 star hotel in downtown Albany, and is not up to the quality standard of similarly starred hotels in other cities as a result -- it's just the nicest available large hotel downtown. The Wingate in Albany/Wolf Road is not downtown, but offers a higher quality experience -- cleaner, more updated facilities.

The hotel was beautiful and majority of the staff was very friendly. The maintenance staff member was condescending and did not fix the problem he was called for. This is a beautiful hotel and the majority of the staff is helpful and friendly. I brought my children to the pool where 4 people were in the hot tub when we arrived. My children went into the tub and a maintenance man came to me and asked "Do you know what caution tape means?" There was caution tape but I thought there was a pre.

It is a very convenient and comfortable. I will be staying here again. Located in a central area where you can walk to many places bars and restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel is nice as well.

Excellent food. Staff not very interested in customer service. Charging for parking when you are a guest in the hotel is obnoxious. Checked in at 5pm on a Friday very busy and only two front desk staff. Others hanging around with seemingly nothing to do. Room unimpressive expected more. Very hot in the room but couldn't control the temp. From the room called and maintenance person opened our window! Exercise room was adequate until 15 children arrive to play on the equipment. Even though a hotel staff person came in several times, nothing was done to control the situation. I left. The one positive is we had an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant would definitely recommend.

The staff. Sometimes it takes a long time to get the car out of Valet. We stay at this hotel pretty often (sometimes 3 times a month). The location is Prime for why I stay there. I get to do my business meetings and its family friendly for my two little ones. The staff is great to me and my family.

Convenient location to downtown; shuttle service offered. Room had peeling paint and stained carpet. Although conveniently located, the hotel is in dire need of a spruce up -- the rooms had peeling ceiling paint and unsightly stained carpeting. Generally understaffed, the one clerk I did interact with was perhaps the most surly and rude that I've ever uncounted. He may have been new to the job, but that's no excuse for his short-tempered remarks about everything from his own hotel staffing situation to Priceline issues to giving walking directions. I'd pass on staying here again.

The personnel wend above and beyond to please us. The restaurant was never open for lunch or dinner while we were there. The room was awesome. The personnel bent over backwards to make sure our stay was a pleasant one. The only comment I have is that they need more electrical outlets for laptops, etc. I would absolutely stay here again! And highly recommend it.

Location. Parking garage - dust from construction. Staff was friendly, a good breakfast, rooms were clean and spacious. Unfortunately, because of construction in the parking garage, my car was coated with dust.

Staff very nice and helpful. Elevator smelled badly. Toilet did not flush. The hotel had an older run-down feel to it. The smell in the elevator was terrible and there were empty glasses on the tables outside the elevators. We visited two floors because the toilet in the first room did not flush. The people were very nice.

It was a decent stay. The hotel did not validate parking. The room was alright and the bathroom was small. The television in the room only got 10 stations. The staff was excellent - In fact, when I asked them to call a cab for me and it was going to be a 30 min wait, the airport shuttle driver drove me to my destination. There was construction going on and I was told there is always construction going on. I stayed there for its location though, which was perfect.

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza overnight midweek. The room was super clean and the bed was one of my best night's sleep. It's located right downtown so it was also in walking distance to several restaurants, although I ended up ordering room service...the wings are awesome! Staff was very courteous. Highly recommended.

Staying at the Crown Plaza was the highlight of the best weekend I have had all summer. The friendlyness, service and over all attidude of all the people is just beyound words. I just wish we were able to stay another night so this experience could last longer. I have been telling others about the the time we spent in Albany and our stay at the Crown Plaza.

Just one block downhill from the historic capitol, two from the court of appeals, the hotel was great for a NOW conference of almost 1,000. The staff was very caring. The beds were the best! They had seven layers including two mattress pads, a sheet of brushed cotton, and a duvet. If this weren't enough, the hotel provides a radio/CD combination with a sleep-inducing CD. The gym and pool are two levels below the lobby and visible from the lobby atrium. The rates were reasonable for a quality hotel

I stayed here for a week for business. The room was kept clean, the fitness center was well-maintained and the staff was very friendly. Best of all they had everything a travelor needs to sleep well: comfortable beds, relaxation cds, eyemasks, linen spray, ear plugs and soft night lights. I have never slept so soundly in a hotel.

Location, price and convenience. They have a housekeeping problem, no one checking up on work done. The hotel it self was very nice. The room was a good size. TV reception was spotty so that was a downer from time to time. The TV was fairly new flat screen LG not the best brand. But I think the problem was with their provider. The internet connection was fast and no charge. The room was very quiet and dark at night (6th floor). The housekeeping was another story. We checked in on Friday night about 8:30 pm. The tile on the bath tub and shower wall was spotted with mildew on the grout. The bath tub itself has a non slip mat that is attached to the bottom all around the fringe was mildew. The toilet seat was hanging on by one screw and the room smelled like cigar smoke. I went down to the front desk early Sat morning and voiced my concerns when we got back late Sat night everything was taken care of kudos to management. I always leave something for housekeeping anywhere I stay ($2 or $3) but they just did not follow through a few different times, I was there 9 nights. Forgot to replace shampoo and conditioner a few times, got back late one night bed is half made all the pillows on the chair, forgot to leave paper one morning. They need someone checking up behind housekeeping to make sure the job is being done and if there is someone doing this now they should fire that person because that person i.e. not doing their job.

I really didn't like this hotel at all. No mini fridge, staff was horrible, had to pay for parking, this is not a 3 star hotel. I would never stay at this hotel ever again. The experience was horrible from the minute I walked into this hotel. First the parking was absolutely horrible. When I got the ticket for parking it said it could be validated but when I went to check out after my stay I was charged, they would not validate the ticket. Also there were like 50 little kids running around the hotel screaming. To check into our hotel it took over an hour as we stood in line and watched most of the staff stand there talking to each other. This caused us to be late to our appointment later that night. Then once we finally got up to the counter to check in I was suppose to get a roll away bed for free with my room, but they said it was going to be an extra 20 dollars. I thought to myself you have to be kidding. Then just to get up to our room on the sixth floor, it took another 30 minutes because kids were playing in the elevators. When we entered the room it was extremely small and there was no mini fridge so everything I had to put in there spoiled. I was on a quite level and it was by no means quite, at 1:00 am there were slamming doors and people yelling. I also asked for a waked up call which came about ten minutes late and almost made me late. Anyways this is not a 3 star hotel by any means.

We had to move twice from non-smoking rooms due to the smell of cigarette smoke from adjoining rooms/hallway. The hotel did upgrade our room but moving our belongings the second time at 11:30 PM was not pleasant. The staff was cordial.

Festive on the first floor, big comfortable bed and quiet. Some fixtures were a little old and I wondered if they were dirty but they were just worn. Center of albany, walking distance from everything, festive night scene on the first floor, large and comfy rooms.

Room was quiet. Paid more then it was worth. Room was quiet and did sleep well. However, the shower curtain was nasty with mildew all over the bottom. The food in the restaurant was little expensive. But, it was good. Would stay again for a lesser price.

Free internet wireless-rare for a business class hotel. This would have been an overpriced property if not for Priceline. It is the only business-class hotel in downtown Albany. It is also one block from the state capitol building and near a restaurant district. The staff was friendly and helpful, the property clean and well located.

Location! Bathroom is too small, plumbing issue same as my last stay here! This Crowne Plaza property is centrally located to everything to do in Albany, NY. The rooms are nice and spacious with plenty of sunlight. It's clean, the staff is attentive and eager to please. The garage parking could use some updating which looks like they were completing during this stay, other than that, I think this is a great property.
