General Description

The hotel is located near to the Opera and famous Place De La Republique, very closed to Canal Saint Martin as well, in the heart of a lively district with many restaurants. There is good public transport with direct access to Opera and as well Le Marais with shops open on sunday. It needs 5 stops to go to the Louvres, 2 stops with direct access to Gare de l Est and 3 to go to Gare du Nord. This is a 4 star hotel and merits a superior first classification. It has an excellent location and offers very good value for money for a hotel of this category. This is a restored traditional hotel, in the Belle Epoque building dating from 1866. The lobby is large and has a charming American bar on one side, where guests can listen to jazz music, and the main restaurant on the other. All the public areas are bright, spacious and well equipped. The restaurant is decorated in tasteful New Orleans 30's style and offers good traditional cuisine and discreet service. The rooms are large and were entirely renovated. Some of them have view on the unique, quiet and nice Napoleon III courtyard. They are furnished to a good standard with flat screen TV, high speed internet access, pillow menu, and guests can find excellent services in a relaxing atmosphere. Facilities are separate from the bathroom. 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 15 kms to the airport (orly), 2 km to the nearest station (gare du nord), 2 kms to city centre, 2 minute walk to the nearest metro station (republique), 21 kms to the airport (charles de gaulle), 5 km to the nearest fair site (porte de versailles).

Great location and amazing hotel for a Holiday Inn! Very upscale. Flat screen TV had only 2 English stations- needed to pay for more and same for music-pay per hour. Lovely European Hotel with very modern upscale rooms and decor. I liked being in a room. Huge windows and very scenic. The neighborhoods all around were very French with stores, cafes & rests. Great value in today’s Euro environment.

The staff was excellent. Hotel beautiful. Close to the subway station. Easy to get around. Was able to take train from airport straight to hotel. Very helpfully and cost efficient. Lots to do. Hotel can set up events amd tickets.

The location is excellent and in general terms is a very good hotel,. However, traveling with a minor, I found room service very limited as well as TV offerings.

We really enjoyed this hotel. A great blend of a historic building, but with updated rooms. The staff was very accommodating. There's a subway entrance right outside the hotel. Great experience.

Trying to find a hotel that will sleep a family of 4 (2 teenage boys 17 & 15 who don't sleep together) was hard. However this hotel seemed to fit our needs. As long as you don't mind folding up the hide a bed and rolling the twin bed they supplied us in to the corner of the room. Still didn't give us a lot of room to move around but it suited us fine for the time we were there. Room seemed to be recently updated which was nice. It is right off a metro stop and lots of places to eat nearby. I would stay here again. The staff was friendly and concierge helpful. Would have been nice if their pillows weren't so big, I had to sleep without one for 3 nights.

Stayed at this Holiday Inn for 7 days in October. Staff was excellent, everyone was very courteous and accomodating. Clean room and bathroom and excellent cleaning service. The room we stayed in had large windows that faced the street behind Place de la Republic, so we looked out onto two hotels and an apartment building across the street, which was fine as was quiet. Only had one issue while staying and it was with our room keys, which seemed to be an issue for several guests while we were staying - key would not work to unlock room doors Young woman and man at front desk were very apologetic and solved issue right away. Location is great as Place de Republic is a main stop on several Metro lines (entrance to Metro is less than 5 minute walk from hotel) and is in good walking distance for almost all major sites. I'm a walker so my BF and I only took the Metro when we headed to Eiffel Tower as we enjoyed walking the city. Safe location - security guard posted in lobby at all times. If I return alone, I would definitely stay at this hotel. In terms of food nearby, hotel is located in a 'place' with several restaurants and cafes right across the place or down the block. Also, there is a Monoprix (supermarket) about a 10 minute walk away. Loved, LOVED this location. Feel like I got more bang for my buck than I had anticipated. Recommend to solo travelers, couples, and business travelers. Can't wait to go back - will def be staying here.

The staff was so outstanding. The room was perfect. So clean. The wake-up feature on the phone did not work and thank goodness we used a back up alarm clock or we would have missed our train. This hotel was awesome. The staff was friendly and kind. It was my son's 21st birthday and they knocked on the door with wine and fruit and a coupon for free drinks while staying our 3 days at the hotel. Plenty of towels upon request. We were thoroughly impressed.
