General Description

Days Inn Forbidden City Beijing is a courtyard-style establishment located in central Beijing. It is in a few minutes walking distance from the Tiananmen Square and the Wangfujing Street, a main shopping area in Beijing. The surrounding of the hotel is historical where in the old days it was inside the imperial city. A hundred years ago, it was a residence which consisted of three yards inter-connection, total 2724 square meters, owned by a well-known warlord named jiang Chaozong? After 1949, it was taken as office by the government. And now, it became a retreat and cozy place in this busy and inviting city. With the look of the building and the hundred-years-old tries in the yard, the hotel has retained its old-world charm, but at the same time has merged it with contemporary architecture and designs. It has positioned itself as a both business and leisure hotel, focusing on clean, comfortable accommodations while providing efficient service at a competitive price. There are 164 well-equipped rooms, including the duplex suite, family rooms, deluxe rooms, budget single rooms etc. All rooms are equipped with workstation, broadband internet connection, electronic safety box, LCD TV with cable and satellite reception. Other services and facilities available are Business Center, foreign exchange, city tours, airfare booking, bicycle rental and free park lots.

Helpful staff for translations and tourist info and great location. Problem with booking in that I had booked a deluxe double room and arrived to find we had been placed in a room with two single beds. When I asked for this to be changed the response was that it was a room for 2 therefore a double. Eventually was changed to a double room but in no way was is the deluxe level I had paid for!

My friend and I went to Beijing (this was my 3rd trip there) to run the Great Wall of China Marathon. A friend of mine from Ireland recommended this hotel and knowing how particular she is about everything we decided to try this hotel. We were so very pleased. It is located a short walk (10 minutes or so) to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square through a very charming hutong area filled with little restaurants, art galleries, and shops. We had a simple clean room with 2 single beds, the rates were extremely cheap for Beijing (especially that area), and we liked the courtyard style of the hotel. The restaurant was ok, nothing special but Beijing is so full of fabulous food that it really didn't matter. We will stay here any time we go back to Beijing.

I stayed at Days for 7 nights in February 2009. and I must say, I'm very impressed. It is well located, being half way between Forbidden City and Wangfujing Street (about 10mins walk to either). And as per all reviews I have read, the taxi driver had difficulty finding the place, even though I had the name, address & location map in Chinese. I would give this place a 4 star rating. The room was very clean, with a modern bathroom; and the free broadband in the room was a major plus. The reception staff were always willing to help out, and there was always at least one staff member available that had very good English skills. The buffet breakfast was very good yet slight pricey, but it was convenient. The next time I stay in Beijing, Days Inn will definately be at the top of my list of places to stay.

Stayed for 5 days. Excellent quiet central location just minutes walk from Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast and lunch were very good. Room was modern and clean with a/c, with great hard bed. Real comfortable. Taxis cheap and readily available at the hotel or just on street outside. Broadband internet access free in room, and 2 bottles of water! Money changer machine in lobby for euros and dollars, reasonable conversion rate. No fridge in room, and don't expect any hotel social scene!

The location of the hotel is very good. In the Centre of Beijing. The rooms in the hotel are small but functional. Everything you need is there. The relation between price and quality is good. The service of the personell is excellent.

The staff was super friendly and always very helpful. The location was incredible and I could not have asked for a better room. I only wish it was a little cheaper. It is a little expensive for Chinese standards, but moderate for American standards. Overall, it was a great stay!

Was a suprise after I check in to find out that the rooms are horribly small and the worse was it given a basement room more look like a shelter then a hotel room. Shouldn't be given a three star hotel and worse it kept mentioned is an American manage resort but it was purely manage badly by the Chinese. Suggestion to online travel shouldn't have this hotel under the list as it will only bring the image down

Location was excellent. Very close to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. My room was small and smelled a little musty.

Excellent breakfast buffet and super location next to Forbidden City. Slightly slimy shower. I would definitely stay at this hotel again because of its location. It is centrally located between the Forbidden City and the main shopping district. We walked everywhere and occasionally took taxis to other shopping areas or evening restaurant outings. Days Inn Forbidden City provided us with an excellent hotel location and affordable price. A very good value.

The hotel is good, rooms are nice. Location is excellent. Only for a hotel that opened less than a year ago, getting run down very quickly ! Quite interesting fungus growths in the bathroom. Not as bad as some Chinese hotels but still.
