Relax in central London! This is a lovely oasis of calm within the busy centre of London. The physical surroundings of the beautifully kept gardens, large, open and airy accommodation and very welcoming staff make this our first choice when working in London.

Hot Hot HotOverall a clean well presented room with all the extras you would wish to find, internet, fan, hairdryerr, fridge (milk in fridge on arrival), kettle, bottlem opener. The room was small, perfect for our length of stay. Although I would have expected a larger room for the price. The room's heating was constantly ON with NO thermostat, this made it very hot, sleeping with the windows open and the duvet off and fan on helped!Breakfast was expensive for the quantity of food AND painfully slow but excellent service. The pool and spa were brilliant for soaking weary sight seeing bodies.

Location was great for getting in and out of central london on the tube....2 minutes walk from Pimlico station. Swimming pool, sauna etc very nice although very very cold on the day we went!.....heating must have been broken along with the water heater!.....bbbrrr! nice though. Room couldnt have been cleaner BUT if we are honest, we were disappointed with the size and description, more of a hotel room than an apartment, its a bedroom with a tiny kitchen in the corner (microwave, fridge and sink). Staff nice, setting lovely and clearly loads of money spent on the re-furb of this compflex, just felt a little decived by the 'apartment' description. Parking is secure but will cost you £25 for 24 hours. PLEASE ALSO NOTE.....the congestion charge CAN be avoided going to and from this hotel if you are careful and watch the signs, its in a congestion free area which is a bonus!

If you want somewhere central with a lot of space for a good price, this is ideal. I was more than pleased. Me and my boyfriend stayed here fore the weekend, the service was good, the space was brilliant and the standard was excellent.about 6 mins from Pimlico station which in on victoria line, very central, can get anywhere from here. Although the hotel could not seem to oder us a taxi. There is also no Oven so do not expect to cook, but there is good delivery services and the dolphin restaurant is very reasonable. We had a free continental breakfast as well which made the price very good value. Overal very impressed, you get a big lounge, bathroom with shower and bath and bedroom for cheaper or the same price as a hotel.

This was the first time that i had booked through Laterooms and it will not be the last judging by the quality of this accomodation. We have stopped in many hotels in London in the past, many which cost a lot more than this one, but we could not fault the accomodation at all, very clean, large queen size bed, plasma TV and our own entertainment system, including the internet, games, cd's, dvd's and movies. The accomodation also features its own shops,a swimming pool, squash courts, and a .sauna, although we never took advantage of them. It is decorated to a very high standard and we will definately be staying here again in the future. Another positive is that it is literally a 5 minute walk away from Pimlico tube station

We enjoyed our stay at the Dolphin House Apartments very much. The only negatives were that we noticed some of the staff is extremely unfriendly. The man who checked us in was the rudist stuck up jerk I ever witnessed at a hotel. Note: we are not racist, but we noticed that the only unfriendly staff there were all non-whites. I honestly can't remember one non-white person who was friendly, besides the one in the restaraunt. The ones working in the hotel were either mute, shy or had some communication issues. I am not being racist, really. This is a fact. I even went out of my way to try to be friendly towards a few, just to test it and try to spark a conversation, but they really honestly did not want to talk. This was just the non-whites. They seemed like they could care less about us, which was odd, considering we are the main source of thier income...lol. The white people on the other hand, were super-friendly and went out of their way to help you. I am not racist...really. We are a mixed race couple. Not sure if it was just a coincidence or what, but it was definitely noticeable. Also, just fyi: There's no air conditioning. The room is very stuffy, so you need to keep the windows open at all times, especially at night while sleeping. We were there in May, so not sure how the rest of the year is.

RecommendedStayed here in February 2009 for 2 nights, apartment only.Check in was quite late at 3pm, but we arrived aout 12pm and left our bags securely with reception. We were very suprised wth the room, it's massive! As is the bathroom and the bed.In the main bedroom there was small sink, microwave, toaster, fridge, milk, dishes, cutlery, flat screen TV, computer, hairdryer, iron, board etc. Please note there is no cooker but I did not expect one. What more could you want? The only negative comment I can say was that the room was quite hot and stuffy, even though it wasn't particulary warm outside. As the room was on the ground floor we could not leave the windows open at night, I suspect all the rooms are on the ground floor. There are the essential shops on-site at the complex, including somewhere to get breakfast (although I did not eat there). As for the area it's a nice quiet residential area, very affluent, 2 min walk to the tube station, 1 min walk to the Thames, and a handful of shops near the tube station.I can recommend these apartments.

good value in LondonOn arrival we were upgraded to a 1-bedroom apartment (having booked a studio). New furnishings & spacious. Some difficulties with the TV, but sorted out by staff promptly. The 'kitchenette' was only a sink, a kettle & a microwave - but as we hadn't intended to use this, it wasn't a problem. breakfast was included, which made for even better value for money. We ate at the restaurant on site and were pleasantly surprised with the quality & standard of service - though breakfasts wer a little chaotic. Overall excellent value for money & well situated for sightseeing (only 5 minutes from a tube station) & restaurants.

The room was as expected, I have stayed in many hotels in the Gulf region from 4 star to 5 star + and in my opinion have a much better standard of room and service, having said this the staff at the Dolphin were very helpful and polite. One thing I would say is that the room felt a bit sparce and cold, PC / TV set up didn't work properly and the starter in one of the lights wasn't working which meant an irritable flicker in the light when you switched it on. Other than those minor details the stay was very pleasent and for the price we paid I think we are being over critical but if we were to pay the full price we would be very disapointed.

Pictures are completely deceiving. The room was tiny!! and not very nice. The bed was flat as a pancake. The \"kitchen\" was simply a fridge, kettle and sink in room. The bar was lovely. The only problem was that they stopped serving drinks at 1am. However, they did let us sit and chat till 2.30 without rushing us out.The cleaning lady knocked at our door at 9 am to ask if we were leaving, although we did not need to check out until 12pm. The fire alarm went off in the morning about 5 times for a few minutes at a time, it disturbed my sleep.

I stayed at Dolphin Apartments with my mother, who is in her 60s. I cannot fault the location, being in a quiet street only a couple of minutes from Pimlico tube station. It was too cold to appreciate the gardens, but having such outside space is a rare treat in London. The staff were business-like, rather than friendly, but generally ok. I booked a studio apartment and was generally pleased with the size of the room, the amenities and the standard of furnishing. The kitchenette was only really fit for making drinks, although there was a toaster and oven available, and the apartments had an arcade of small shops in it, providing the basics should anyone want to eat-in.We did encounter a problem with the room in that the bathroom was arctic in temperature. The heated towel rail was in good working order but provided insufficient warmth due to the single-glazed sash windows and fully tiled interior. This combined with the cold weather meant that we were fairly miserable and reluctant to shower. I complained to Reception and found the member of staff who initially dealt with me was not very helpful. When I went to Reception in person and spoke to the Night Manager, however, I found my complaint dealt with swiftly and satisfactorily. In fact, we were moved to a two bedroomed apartment, which I can report to be both spacious and warm. The views from the apartment (located on Floor 6) were also fantastic. We only had breakfast at the hotel, which was basic but acceptable for the level of accomodation. Due to the high numbers at weekends, however, those who had booked for Continental breakfast were offered the Champagne bar as the location for breakfast. Although lovely on an evening, it was less practical for eating breakfast due to the low tables and comfy chairs. The things that generally impressed me about the hotel and would encourage me to go back (albeit with a request for a warm bathroom) were the convenient location, the general stamdard of the building and rooms, th

Where to start with the moans about this place. 1. Do not arrive before 3pm because they will not let you into a room. 2. The room did not have any instructions about facilities e.g. How to work Microwave etc etc etc. 3. There was only one glass and when we asked for more we are still waiting. This is the only hotel that I have ever stayed in where we put out our dirty towels to be replaced and on our return found them hanging up, wet and sodden...and finally.....do not accept a room overlooking the massive building works across the road. the nosie is horrendous and starts at some ungodly hour. 4. Reception staff are indifferent and quite honestly one would have been better off in a Youth Hostel.

Great valueI have stayed at Dolphin House several times and it never disappoints. I was in a suite which means in addition to a huge bed and luxurious bedding you have a kitchenette with microwave toaster and fridge. I made good use of them by preparing my own evening meal and breakfast. There is a shopping arcade within the building where you can buy most things and Tesco Pimlico is an easy walk.My only mildly adverse comment was that the reception service was slow but that was in part because there was a trainee. At late rooms rate of £115 I think it is exceptional quality

We were traveling on vacation for a week. This hotel location provided easy access to the business of downtown London while also allowing rest and relaxation. Great value for moneyGood accomodation, great facilities and a great location. onsite gym, pool and sauna a real bonus. The food in the bar and grill was excellent. My only complaint was that the cold tap on the bath didn't work, no water at all. It wasn't fixed during our 3 day stay and when i reminded the receptionist [the one i originally told] she acted like it was the first time she'd heard it. Despite having watched her write a note about it the first time! annoying but didn't ruin our stay. Would definately stay again as such good value.

Something a little differentOnly had the 1 night here unfortunately, but the standard of accommodation was excellent (more like a home than a hotel room) and the staff were helpful. The spa/pool facilities also looked very good and i would loved to have used them. The only problem i had was arriving at the hotel fairly late and finding nothing open to get something to eat. Pictures on site not representative of our roomThe photographs on the web gave you the impression you would receive a smart, modern room. Our room cost £105, which I thought was overpriced for the quality of the room. It was pretty small, not 'plush' or new, just a little tired. I was just disappointed. Also, there were very few restaurants in the area within walking distance. So it's not an area I would stay in again.

The direction to the hotel are incorrect - on leaving the tube it is the third left or second left into Edward's Square. Taking the first left into the square means you have to walk down to the river and back up again to get to the street the hotel is on. Late at night with heavy bags this is not much fun.In the room it could usefully tell you how much breakfast is.The signs and circulation between the lobbies is a bit confusing.

While the rooms were large and beautiful....the lack of air conditioning really put a damper on our stay. It was unfortunate that London was having a heat wave the two days we were there (highs were in the low 90's). We asked for, and received, a fan for our room. It helped, but the room was still very warm. Also, we were traveling with my sister and her husband. They did not have as large a room as we did. It was very awkward because we both paid the same price.

Excellent location, buildings character and swimming pool facility. The room was good value for two of us and very comfortable. The room was converted for disability access, and perhaps as a consequence we felt there was not enough furniture (easy chairs, dining table area). It may have been not quite finished as there were no pictures on the wall and a plumbing fault in the sink. The recpeptionist was receptive to our comments and very professional. Overall though for the stylish surrounds and central London location we would book here again for a similar price and request a room on a higher floor.

This is not a hotel. This is a very old apartment complex that rents out some rooms. The staff is rude from the moment you walk in and it becomes obvious why very quickly. The grounds are full of elderly tennants from the apartments looking at you like you are an invader. There is a litany of guests complaining constantly. Called ahead for an early check in was told they could accommodate for one of the rooms. Got there at 11 AM was told check in time is 3 but we will expedite the maid service after check in time, never happened. The other guests slept in the lobby till 2:45. Got into the room it was over 100 degrees as the old brick walls were absorbing the heat. Called downstairs and was told you have a fan in your room sir. NO AC during a heatwave in London. No fan. An hour later a fan came, not a free plug in the place. Had to unplug something to use it. TV or Fan. Everything was like this. The widows have no screens so when open in fly the bugs. Because all windows are open your business is everyone's elses. anything you do in your room is there for all to see. NO PRIVACY. Could not get the room cool enough to use people were getting sick from the heat so we checked out next morning. "Sir we do not advertise air-conditioning" Said the man at the desk while people are getting sick from the heat. Then came the well rehearsed line from the hotel. No refund sir this is a prepaid booking. Saw them say it to 3 other people while I argued. This is a fraud and a ripoff designed to lure you in and defraud you of your money when you check out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.They want to hold on to 4 more nights of bllings for two rooms a SCAM. Virtually everything this hotel says it is it isn't. It is a scam to get people to pre-pay and when they leave early steal their money.

Only a couple of faults I could find was when we ordered a cab from reception on our second night and it didn't turn up. Can't really put too much blame on the hotel for that I suppose as we were able to get a cab that someone else got to the hotel as they got out. Room was excellent aprt from the fact that milk in the fridge (which had no best before date) had been left long enough to go almost solid and the \"Kingsize\" bed was in fact two twin beds pushed together with a slight height difference which made sleeping on uncomfortable. Apart for this stay was an enjoyable one.

I had a pleasant enough hotel room, though of course the website indicates all rooms are equipped as self-catering apartments, so I was disappointed by this and the limited facilities in the room (eg 3 TV channels rather than 100 digital). Good pool and pleasant restaurant though.

Good Appartment Accomodation in a huge 1930's appartment block. Rooms have been refurbished to modern standards and are generously proportioned. Location is good, close to Pimlico tube and right next to an extraordinary piece of 1960's concrete architecture. Parking is available underneath. Some of the parking spaces clearly designed for small 1930s cars! If you park, check out the labyrinthine corridors.

This was a very good option for me, as a Mum travelling with a teenage boy. Only comment about the room - there was space for a small table and two chairs and that would have been really useful. It looked like they were missing as there was space in the kitchen area. Hand towels would also have been appreciated.

The Dolphin Hotel is a very excellent value for money apartment hotel. The size of the room was enormous compared to many other hotels I've stayed at in London in the 4 star price range and is also very modern and stylishly decorated and appointed. The location is great with Pimlico Tube station just around the corner and Victoria Rail Station a 15 minute walk away and there is also an excellent Sainsbury supermarket 10 mins walk away in Wilton St. The only drawback was that the kitchenette was very sparsely appointed with cooking implements (eg: no microwave bowls to heat or cook with and kitchen utensils are very scarce .... one other guest we talked to said that he didn't even have a toaster in his kitchenette!). This is the only fault I can find with the Dolphin but is a very important one as the need to cook or warm-up food is the main reason people go for an apart-hotel over a regular hotel room.

The hotel was in a great location. 5 mins to the Victoria tube line. Within walking distance to buckingham palace, st james & green park. Good restaurants also within 15 min walk. It was also close to the Victoria coach and train station, about 15-2o min walk. The hotel also had a hair salon, a little convenient store, and a little bakery in it too. plus other services as well. Worth spending a little extra money to get a decent hotel in that area.

Beautiful apartments - a great alternative to separate hotel rooms for groups of friendsThe staff were very helpful, friendly and cheerful and the room was spotlessly clean. Sadly we didn't get chance to use the facilities (really wish we'd had chance for a dip in the pool!!). The only negative point was that the apartment was too hot, and although fans were provided, air con would have so much better.

Very good value for money. Lovely room, huge bed! Reasonable location, which would have been good had the Victoria tube line been running - that's not the hotels fault though, of course! Quiet with interesting view over a courtyard. I would definitely recommend it at the price. However, there was one really big problem for me - it was so hot, I couldn't sleep properly.

Currently front suites overlook a building site , We were up graded to a 4 person suite which more than made up for the inconvienance of builders on a Saturday morning, No further faults could be found , location excellent if you are prepared to walk small ( 1 km ) distances ,

Overall a very nice place to stay! Just a couple of things we did not like:the continental breakfast certainly was not one of the better ones we had in 7 weeks travelling, selection very minimalistic and quality some mornings not the best.A couple of maintenance things (the switch to turn on your bathroom heater is in the wardrobe by the way) - but overall a very nice place to stay and good value when you get the specials.

Good, But beware Peeping TomNice apartments with great pool and amenities. Room small to average for London. Very clean and comfortable. A few cautions:The rooms were hot and no aircon so we opened the front windows. My wife & I noticed we were being photographed by a peeping tom in the building opposite, behind the school under construction. We alerted security who shrugged their shoulders advising they would make a note of it but couldn't do much further (which I can except).Building site opposite has been ongoing for quite a while and they work Saturday. We did ask about this as we had a room overlooking it. The clerk said they didn't work weekends.

Superb!Checking in was no problem and the staff were very pleasant and professional. The room was excellent and exceeded our expectations. My wife was very pleased as this was a weekend away to celebrate her birthday and to take her shopping, see a show, and have a break from the routine of live and children. Very clean, warm (corridor on the 5th floor was exceedingly warm) furnished and decorated very nicely.

Excellently well-equipped apartment accommodation in Pimlico. Just a few minutes' walk from the Tube. Close to restaurants and shops. Very comfortable beds. I have stayed here twice now and both times have been excellent. The apartments are beautifully presented, with up-to-date furnishings. Plenty wardrobe space; hairdryer, iron and ironing board; laundry service; launderette. Two minutes' walk from the River Thames, which provides a great opportunity to take a good walk to various attractions. One word of advice - you need to pay a deposit of around £30 per day on arrival to cover breakages, internet, etc. A hold will be put on that sum on your credit card.

Quality of the room would have been a seven out of six except the shower head had got furred up and didn't flow perfectly (room 405 if anybody from the hotel sees this and wants to sort it out) - and including Sky Sports in the TV package is a must for a hotel of this calibre. Otherwise the whole stay was a wonderful taste of luxury

fantasticWhat a fabulous place to stay. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. The rooms were large and airy. The decor was tasteful as was the furniture - very modern. Customer Service was excellent - very helpful on directions to find places. Tube only a few minutes walk away to get to the West End. What a bonus for the health club being there which we used the following morning instead of breakfast! I will definitely stay here again and soon.

DisappointingMy boyfriend and I were disappointed with our stay at Dolphon House serviced apartments for several reasons. The apartment did not look anything like the pictures of it. We were expecting a certain amount of luxury but although the apartment was comfortable it certainly wasn't luxurious. The kitchen was absolutely tiny, with only just enough space for one person, but we didn't attempt cooking - there just wasn't room - which rather defeated the point of having a serviced apartment. Added to which, the shower didn't work. We arrived in the evening of our first day and were due to go out; the shower head was faulty so we requested that a new one was fitted. We were told that because it was after 5pm all the staff had left except for reception staff, who were unable to help us. We were unable to have a shower until after 12pm the following day. In addition to this, the TV service did not work and we were unable to watch DVDs. Although someone was sent to fix it, and we were told that it had been fixed when they left, we discovered that they had not in fact even diagnosed the problem correctly and we were still unable to use the services. We did not receive an apology. The idea that this was a 'serviced' apartment was a joke: not only were the reception staff unhelpful, but the staff employed to 'service' the apartment spent a maximum of 15 minutes in the apartment in the morning, and did only an extremely cursory 'clean' of the rooms (no washing up, depite the absence of a dishwasher in the kitchen). When I paid the bill, I discovered that I had been charged over £11 per day for this 'service', on top of the rate quoted on the website. The swimming and gym facilities were very good. Unfortunately they were the only good thing about our stay. These apartments are neither 'luxury' nor 'serviced' and therefore we were very disappointed: we were expecting to stay in a place that should, according to the descriptions on the website, be even better than a four

I've stayed here before. The hotel is lovely and clean. I stayed on the ground floor this time and my only complaint is that the hotel staff were hoovering at 8.00 am which is VERY annoying if you're trying to have a lie in.

The hotel is fresh, clean (if a little clinical) and the room was nicely fitted out (albeit again a bit sterile). At the price we paid we all felt it was great value and a sensible place to stay in town, unless you have to be in the West End. It was a 25 min walk to embankment and Pimlico tube is just 3 mins walk. The spa facilities were excellent and quiet and our only gripe was the quality of service in the restaurant. We had breakast included and when the \"do it yourself\" toasters blew a fuse all the waiting staff just looked at each other and carried on about their business. I ended up fixing the problem myself!Overall though a quality place to stay in a convenient and very quiet location - would recommend at the right price.

Generally an excellent choice for a London break. Clean, professional, excellent services and value for money. Just 1 stop on the underground into Victoria and a quick 5 minute walk from Pimlico underground to the front door. However, our room did have a strange odour. From the minute myself and my companion entered the room there was a smell of drainage , quite unpleasant. Also, the room temperature was not thermostatically controlled which meant that it was cool in the morning and roasting at night meaning a less that adequate nights sleep. If stayed here again would ask for a different room not located in between 2 elevators!!

The hotel was a fantastic base for our weekend stay in London - very close to the underground and only 10 minutes from the centre of the city. A few reviews have mentioned that the rooms are incredibly hot although we found that opening the windows was sufficient to regulate the temperature! The chamagne bar was a great addition and don't be nervous of the expense, we found that spirits are actually cheaper than any other bar we visitied during our stay - the cocktails are worth trying though. The spa was average - a personal trsaining session was being held in the swimming pool while I was trying to relax in the steam room, unfortunatly I was hounded out by Ricky Martin and his vie de loca! Only 2 negative points - the assumption by staff that a tip was deserved for every smile, piece of advice given or door opened - we had a very awkward moment in our room when I had to pretty much escort the staff member from the room. Second bad point was the restaurant - the manager was fantastic and service from him was second to none however the rest of the staff looked liike they'd turned up for work experience - we were ignored time and time again, requests for cutlery, tea, buter were repeatedly forgotten and we were left feeling that we were not very welcome.Overall we would stay here again and have recomended it to friends.

The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood, close to the subway and a wonderful bus line that will take you all the way to Camden Town. Although there is construction across the street from the hotel, we never found this to pose much of a problem (not terribly noisy). In terms of the interior, we had a lovely studio apartment. It was very nicely furnished and very clean. The rooms are a bit warm but it was sunny, very warm, and humid out, so it wasn't surprising--also, it's hard to find air conditioning in London so we weren't that concerned about it not being cooler in the room. Anyway, the hotel was happy to provide a fan, which helped a lot. We were never actually able to make it to the pool or fitness center but they seem to be top-of-the-line. I would definitely stay here again and next time find the time to try at least the pool.

I'd booked a Standard Room but was upgraded to an apartment, which was lovely - comfortable, well kept & warm (important in the cold snap of the weekend I was there!). The TV through the computer was fairly complicated, but overall I had a lovely stay. It really was less than 5 minutes walk from Pimlico tube station so very handy.
