If you want to be truly in the heart of Times Square, there is no better location than this hotel. We would completely recommend paying the slight extra for the elevated floor so that you're over the neon signs (we were on the 41st floor). If you love the city, you will love this hotel....the fold-out couch wasn't super comfy for our friend, but the room was perfect if you are traveling with 3 people.

We spent a long weekend in NYC staying at the Doubletree. We found the room clean and in great shape. The room was not overly large, but for just two people it was the right size. We had a king size bed and found it very comfortable. Being right on Time Square was great for exploring midtown Manhattan, with many attractions within comfortable walking distance. Having a discount ticket outlet for Broadway shows right outside the door is advantage for the theater goer. We didn't eat at any of the onsite establishments, so cannot offer any option one way or another. But, we both agree that on our next trip to NYC, we will definitely be staying here again. I would definitely recommend it for couples looking to spend a romantic weekend.

This hotel is right in the middle of Times Square directly across the TKTS booth. There is a lot of activity right outside the door. We had a 2 room suite with a very comfortable king size bed and a comfortable pull out couch. Very comfortable for the 4 of us. Bathroom was also very spacious with one sink in the toilet/bath area and another sink w/mirror and vanity outside the toilet/bath area. Very, very clean room. Neutrogena bath products. Towels were very nice and thick. Elevators were very quick--never had to wait too long for one and it took 20 seconds to get down to the lobby from our 31st floor room. Concierge was very helpful getting us great seats for Phantom of the Opera and Blue Man Group. We also booked the Gray Line tour bus tickets with them. They were also very helpful in recommending restaurants and helping us get there with subway or walking directions. Subway is conveniently located right next door and across the street. Never had to use a taxi. Loved this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

The location of this hotel was wonderful, if you want to stay in Times Square. We had a corner room with two wonderful views of Times Square. We liked the set-up of the room with the separate living room and bedroom. The room was very clean and, when the curtains were drawn, very quiet. We did experience some initial problems with the small refrigerator, but the hotel promptly fixed it upon our notifying them of the problem. The hotel employees were very helpful. The only drawback was the lack of vending machines on the floors; there is an ice machine; but our room had a snack/drink bar which would charge you whenever you took out a soda or snack. We did not use this bar as the prices were quite expensive ($4.50 for a canned Diet Coke), but we did purchase snacks, bottled water, etc., from a nearby store and used the in-room refrigerator, microwave, etc. Very pleased with this hotel.

What an experience! In the heart of Times Square is where anyone who has never been to New York City needs to stay. What else can I say! Next door to the subway, across the street from the Broadway ticket booth, and within walking distance of ABC Studios, shopping, restaurants, even a Walgreens for anything you may have forgotten. The hotel staff was very polite, the building secure at night (you had to enter on the ground floor and display your room key in order to even get on the elevator to get to the lobby). The room was very spacious (4 adults and 1 child with 2 full beds and 1 pull out couch, microwave, frig, safe) The staff was very friendly and helped us find the best place to eat, best time to travel on the subway, and was very professional in all areas. The rooms were very clean and they were very prompt in responding to anything we needed in terms of extra towels, cups, etc. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. We stayed on the 34th floor and did not experience any problems with wait time for the elevators. This was our first trip to NYC and we truly enjoyed every minute of our stay!

We were not sure what we were getting into with this hotel. But we were very pleasantly surprised. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Service fantastic. We had two suites and they were super clean and comfortable. Another thing that totally amazed how quiet it was in the hotel. You could not even hear outside your door. Location is amazing. Once you walk out everything is there. We were in the middle of all the things we wanted to do, so it was fantastic. I will definately will stay there again.

My 14 year old son and I have stayed at several NYC hotels but we REALLY liked this one. They are doing some construction at the hotel but you never would have known it. We were checked in by * who was so nice. She handed us some warm chocolate chip cookies and welcomed us to the hotel. We were up on the 37th floor and the room was pristine. Mini bar, safe, microwave and 2 TV's, all the comforts of home. The view was breathtaking as it overlooked Times Square. I thought maybe the room would be noisy during the night, but we never heard a peep. We had breakfast at the hotel the next morning which can be a bit pricey but they have a nice selection to choose from. I did use the concierge services and they were very helpful. The ONLY complaint I would have was the drain in the tub wouldn't work properly. Everything else was perfect!

i would love to stay here again in the near future. Everyone was very nice. we arrived @ 11:30 and the bell man was very accomodating with our bags. They held them until we could check in. The cookies were a very yummy treat. The room was lovely for nyc. Spacious. For the price we paid(we got a great price) I would recommend this hotel. Right in the middle of everything. NIte life galore right outside your door. Even when we left the bell man again was very accomodating holding our bags after check out. If i can get a great price like i did last month, i will be back. I'll just be checking the rates much more often.

The DoubleTree Hotel is a very nice hotel in the center of all the action Time Square. The hotel has a lot of nice amenities however everything has a charge. Internet had a daily rate of $10/day which MOST hotels include for free. There is no parking at the hotel and parking is available at a nearby parking garage for which they charge $45/day for valet parking at the garage or $35/day for self parking. If you self park keep in mind the congested traffic and you have to walk back to the hotel a little over a block away. Room service charges were extremely high as well as the self serve snacks in the room vending machine.

The location was great, I like the bedroom suite separate from the main room. Our lock on the door was not working. I found this to be a very nice hotel and would stay here again.

The best security feature at this hotel is that you enter from the street level into a large room where a security guard asks to see your room key or reservation confirmation before you can enter the elevator that takes you to the lobby area of the hotel. I was with my mother and daughter, so safety was a very important issue for us.

Wonderful travel experience. We had a great view and staff were very accomodating. The concierge was extreamly helpful. Felt very safe. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We had trouble with the refrigerator and when we called to report the problem, a staff member was in our room in less than 5 minutes to repair the problem. Housekeeping staff were very pleasant and eagar to please. The beds, in a word are... heavenly. The bed was more comfortable than my own bed at home. Definately the best nights sleep I've ever had in any hotel. Loved the desk area. Lots of places to plug in electronics (i.e. cellphones, laptop, camera battery recharger, etc.) The sofa an chair in the outer room could have been more comfortable. Bathroom was nice and roomy and the water pressure was decent. The only disappointment I had was the cost of wireless internet access, for the cost of the stay I think it should be included in the cost of the room.

Clean and spacious. Under construction. We had a great time here. The suite was large, clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is the fourth stay I had at a Doubletree in the past few months (others were for business) and I enjoyed all of my stays very much. The beds and bedding are particularly comfy. Rooms are also quiet.

After confirming a late check in the day before (we were travelling with 2 young children from Los Angeles and arriving at Newark at midnight) they gave away our room. When we arrived at the hotel, they told us they did not have our room and in fact, there were no rooms available anywhere in Manahattan. A previous guest needed to extend their stay so they had to give away our room. They had absolutely no back up for us and our 2 small children. They did not have a plan but to throw us out on the streets of Manhattan. We pulled the couches in the lobby together for our kids to lay down on while we dealt with the situation. The hotel staff just stood there. We got on our cell phones for the next 1 1/2 hours trying to find a hotel. The hotel staff, at 1:30, told us they had a room for us at Kennedy airport where they would graciously provide a taxi for us. We were not about to spend another hour going back to Kennedy when we had come from Newark 2 hours before. We finally found a room somwhere close by . The next morning we had to go back to Doubletree since we had a deposit and needed to sort through the situation. They gave us our room that morning and apologized. To date, they have not compensated us except to give us a free night in the next year to stay at the Doubletree (which our kids are traumatized about). They do not return emails or phone calls. BRING A SLEEPING BAG BECAUSE YOU MAY END UP SLEEPING ON THE SUBWAY. THEY REALLY DONT CARE.

I recently visited with my 21 yr old daughter- the room provided a bedroom with a kingsize bed with a sofa bed in the adjoining tv room. It was ideal as each of us had our own seperate area that did not disturb the other. The hotel is in Times square so everything was within an easy commute. The concierge and bell staff were very helpful

In the heart of Times Square but it was an oasis in all the craziness of Times Square. We were only there overnight and had no negatives. A little difficult in communicating with the check in staff. On our return when our room was ready - right on time I might add - we were given the complimentary chocolate chip cookies - delicious! The concierge staff was more than helpful. We were pleasantly surprised by our suite - comfortable living area with mini kitchenette (microwave, fridge and coffeemaker) very large bathroom and an extremely comfortable queen size bed. Will definitely return to stay especially for longer than overnight.
