I loved the location of the hotel. The lobby was a wreck and the restaurant was closed. Overall I had a nice stay at the hotel. It was located in the mall and convenient to the highway.

Nothing. Everything. I had to change rooms 3 times, the 2nd time was because my room smelled of mold and the floor was soaked. Also the cleaning staff left my door open after cleaning it. Someone on their staff also made personal calls from my room phone and the hotel expected me to pay for the calls. Do not stay at this hotel!

Refurbished lobby. Dirty, beat up room, toilet not working, waited over 8 minutes for elevator. Horrible hotel, do not stay here. No way a three star hotel. Check in took over 10 minutes and I was only one there. Room disgusting and run down. Toilet did not work, engineering called twice to fix. Slowest elevators known to mankind. Unpleasant view of old mall roof. Worst hotel ever!

The hotel is relatively close to Norfolk International Airport. That was my main consideration. It is not located in one of the better neighborhoods in Norfolk. I would use the hotel again for a short stay, but not an extended one.

Nothing. Everything. This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed out. I had to go to the front desk 6 times just to get the key to work. Very dirty. Very unsafe area, do not go out at night. The double tree name is misleading; not like any other double tee. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I actually checked out a day early.

The hotel staff were especially helpful!!! A person named AKIN and a supervisor named ??? Female, dark, tall , short hair VERY helpful !! We attempted to stay an additional night. We didn't know until it was too late that we would require an ad. Hotel was GREAT !!! Staff were most helpful!

Clean hotel, good room for a good price. Hotel staff was not efficient, the pool was not available and there was no notice. A nice clean room for a good price. The staff was not efficient nor were they informed about the condition of the hotel, i.e. they did not know the pool was drained.

Convenience and price. Restaurant and public areas were not very clean. Restaurant service was very slow. Check-in and Check-out were very efficiently taken care of. Room was clean, cozy and housekeeping staff did a wonderful job with the room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the shower was strong and hot.

Location was great! Seemed a little dingy. My stay at the doubletree was pleasurable. The hotel was not the most updated, but it was comfortable and in a prime location to shopping and the highway. I would stay again after all the renovations are completed.

The Room was nice and clean. The front desk help when I checked in was wonderful. The young lady was very helpful. When I checked out. I needed an extra day and the communication of the Hotel (day shift) manager was rude and not clear. I was threatened to have the police escort me out over a miss understanding. The phone by the bed you could not dial out, when the manager called from the main desk it didn't go through so she assumed I hung up on her. The check out was a disaster. I don't think I would stay again unless really needing to.

In June of 2008 I took my family on vacation to Virginia Beach. The Doubletree Hotel Norfolk Airport was a great value for the money. The location was great. There are a lot of restaurants nearby. Wal-Mart is just down the street, which was helpful and the hotel is literally located in a mall with a movie theater next door. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Virginia Beach is only 15 to 20 minutes away. The negatives............The pool was mediocre at best. No shallow pool for the kiddies. The computers in the business center did not work. The carpet was old and a little stale (not too bad though). The area around the hotel is urban with a lot of youth crowding the area. I had no concerns with safety but it is definitely not a quiet locale. In general our stay was good and I would stay there again. The property is just a little below what you would expect in a Doubletree property. Happy travels and I hope this helps.

Room was fairly large and clean and beds were comfortable. We got there very late but the front desk was prepared for us and we even got a welcome cookie even though it was midnight. The hotel is undergoing well deserved renovations on the entry level and the restaurant which was closed. The renovations dirt and grime mad a poor first impression. The hotel did offer a coupon for a free hot breakfast in the mall next door. This experience was extremely poor; eggs cold, coffee poor and you are sitting in the middle of the mall eating with plastic utensils..........skip the breakfast. It will be worthy of a second look after the renovations but until then expect inconveniences but at a fairly reasonable rate for the area.

My whole experience was a disaster. Our reservation was for 2 non-smoking double rooms, instead we got 2 King Smoking rooms for 3 adults and four children. When my sister asked the person at the desk if the kids should sleep on the floor, she responded that my sister said it, she didn't. We left the hotel at 9:15 p.m. to go elsewere. The staff was rude and uncooperative. The hotel manager never responded to my telephone calls. I will never stay at a Doubletree Hotel.

The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Hot water in the sink was hard to come by, but showers were not a problem. Elevators would get stuck on floors so you have to wait for almost 10 minutes. Office staff had to put in the key to make the elevators work. The on-site restaurant staff was either understaffed, new or were not trained. I had to wait to be seated for almost 20 minutes and was not served coffee upon seating. The staff was not rude but they just ignored customers and did not understand that people have schedules. The service was horrible.

Convenient Location. Very unfriendly staff. The front desk staff was extremely unfriendly. When asked for a room with a queen or king sized bed, I was told that they could only give two full sized. The hotel had sufficient rooms available, so I was very disappointed that I had to be in such a room considering I was traveling with my partner.

The front desk lady, Patricia, she helped us find a place we were looking for by giving us directions to it, asking the right questions. Very nice. The food quality of the bar, on Sunday the restaurant was not open and the bar food was not very good, I got bread that was hard as a rock. I don't know if the bar service is managed by the hotel but it was a disappointment, I understand it was a Sunday but if they are open they can at least try to have what they offered, the mashed potatoes I had were pretty bad, the chicken fingers my husband ordered were supposed to be spicy, served with ranch and celery and instead he got BBQ sauce. The front desk staff was very nice though

Convenient to our destination in Norfolk. Purchased thru priceline, had difficult time getting handicap room. Hotel opens into a shopping mall. parking is always available near hotel entrance. There is almost no lobby. Did not get the famous doubletree cookies except the night we checked in. Manager on duty when we checked in was not very courteous about giving us the handicapped room & bed size that we needed, saying that we did not pay for that type of room. Other than the fact that it was convenient for our purposes, I would not prefer to stay there again.

The employees were very nice. The business center is outdated with old equipment, to few and extremely cramped. The hotel is under renovation so the restaurant was closed. The hotel looked as if were an older hotel that had not been kept up to standards. The name Doubletree was put on something like the Ramada.

I enjoyed the things around the mall and the room was nice. The pool was full of bugs. I really enjoyed this hotel. The bed was lovely and being close to shops was nice. It was convent because it was close to the beach. The only thing I had a problem with was the pool was full of bugs. It could have been cleaned out a little more better.

The cleanliness of the room and the location. A lot of the things you could get from the front desk were out like shampoos, etc. I enjoyed the hotel and I can't wait to stay there again.

Checking out. Attitude of the lobby staff. This hotel (Norfolk Airport Doubletree) was the worst experience that we've had to date. The hotel overbooked; so, we were forced to stay in a smoking room. It went downhill from there. The lobby's restaurant was closed for repair, we had to roll our luggage cart up plywood planks laid along the stairs to get to the elevators, the ice machine was down, they shut our water off in the morning with no notice, the "free" internet was down, the toilet would not fill once the water came back on, garbage cans were not emptied, fresh clean glasses and coffee cups were not exchanged, insufficient towels, moldy shower curtain, even the "complimentary evening cookies" ran out. I'm sure I'm missing something; but you can get the picture. We will never go back there. The one good note was some of the staff we met (the toilet repair guy, the towel lady and a couple others) were very helpful.
