After reading some of the reviews I was unsure about what the hotel would be like, but it was very nice. Extremely convenient location, when we arrived the receptionist was very welcoming. Our room was simple, but had everything we needed (Enough tea and coffee for a weeks stay! (we only stayed a night)). The bed was comfortable (I think it had a memory foam matress), and the whole room was very nicely presented. The room was a good temperature, we had the windows open for a while and the street was quiet too. Bathroom also a pleasant surprise, and the shower was warm and quite powerful. The limericks all around the hotel were a lovely touch. Nice range of cereals and juices at breakfast, and full english too :) Also found guest computer to be a bonus.

Everything was v good the only thing i found wrong was the size of the dinning room. it was far too small for the size of the hotel. other guests including myself had to go away and come back. if your lucky you dont get squeezed in with the other guests.

Considering the location, this hotel was the best I've seen for the money. Really ideal location, particularly for visiting the embassies... also a really vibrant part of London. Room was clean enough. Bathroom was okay, considering it was shared. Definitely okay for a couple of nights cheap accommodation.

The location just 2 streets from the Marble Arch Tube was excellent. The staff at reception and in the breakfast room were accomodating and friendly. Breakfast was abundant; choice of juices and cereals, then any or all of bacon, sausages, eggs, brown beans, stewed tomato and toast with jams. The hotel lobby and stairwells were showing signs of age and wear and are in need up updating and cleaning, but our room (#8) was newer and clean. Our ensuite had a newer shower unit, toilet and sink. Small but clean. Our bedroom had 2 double beds, TV, armoir and chest of drawers with room to move around and kettle with tea/coffee. There were three adults in our group. I didn't see any of the other rooms but our room was clean and comfortable.

mumanddaughterinlondonMy daughter and i stayed at The Edward Lear. We stayed one night and only used the room from 10pm till 8am, apart from droping our bags in. Staff very helpful and friendly, an ideal location. I would recomend this and stay there again. JW. Wrexham, Wales.

I was in London attending a course & requested twin room - met my sister after the course, however the room had a double bed, but reception very kindly gave us an extra room, at no extra charge! No lift, I was on 4th floor, obviously undergoing refurb, although my room was comfy, no remote for the TV when we got back from our evening meal by which time reception was closed. My sister's room on 3rd floor had grotty shower cubicle - hopefully the room will be upgraded during the refurb. Priced very high for the standard, although location perfect for my needs.

Really decent for the moneyI was really pleased with my stay at the Edward Lear. For the money, it was just fine. The room was tiny, the carpet's a bit grubby, but for my purposes, the place was a find. Breakfast was decent and plentiful, staff was super-nice, it's in a really nice neighborhood two blocks from Oxford Street and the Marble Arch tube.

My room was poor quality student digs standard and the communal shower rooms and toilets were very small and poor quality. For over £70 per night this was a rip off
