Modern, trendy, good value. Too far downtown. I really was pleased for the price I paid and the quality of the hotel and the room. I wish the subway was closer but overall I'd stay there again.

Complimentary breakfast - although quite busy. One concierge was extraordinarily rude and unhelpful. Bellmen were great, check-in/out was easy, room worked well for 3 girlfriends traveling together. Unfortunately, the concierge recommended a little diner that gave two of the three food poisoning. When I mentioned this to tall bald concierge he was arrogant and rude. Later I went to get help from the same concierge to get me a Broadway ticket since my friends were still sick. However at 5 till 6pm he was done for the day and refused to help me. Such a huge disappointment. I complained to the front desk, but she didn't ask that he help me.

I read all the reviews and this hotel held up to the reviews. The room was nice. We had a view of the river. The staff went out of their way to help us (even had a pizza reheated after we took a longggg subway ride to get it)Great Pizza Difarras (sp?) in Brooklyn worth the wait!! The front desk is very helpful. I would not stay in another hotel in NYC. If you have kids this hotel is a must with the seperate rooms we had 2 adults and 2 children and it worked out perfectly. We are planning another trip and will stay here again.

We traveled from Texas and this by far was one of the best places for our money. Not only did they check us in early, but they were more than helpful with anything we asked for. The continental breakfast was SUPER, we have foru girls ages: 6,9,13 and 16, and they definately loved the food. We had a great view, and were close to many attractions such as: World Trade Center, Battery Park, Seaport Village, among many others. The rooms were clean and the staff helpful. I cannot say enough about this hote. You will not be disappointed.

My daugters and I spent 3 nights at the Embassy Suites on North End Avenue. The hotel is located in a very nice neighborbood and less than a block from Battery Park on the Hudson; the Statue of Liberty can be seen across the harbor. Locals walk dogs, jog and skate through the park into the evening hours; there are good restaurants in the Park and financial district area. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. The free hot breakfast was a plus to start long days of walking SoHo, NoHo, Tribeca and Subway jaunts uptown. The Subway is about 3-4 blocks away. We road the Subway to Times Square to go to the Minskoff to see The Lion King. Neither I nor my two teenage daughters felt the least bit uneasy riding the Subway back to Tribeca at 1130 at night (especially if you can catch the Express which takes you to the Chambers Subway terminal in minutes). There was absolutely no street noise at the hotel; the separate bedroom gave me silent sleeping refuge while the pull-out sofa in the living room was just right for the girls to crash after hoofing through the streets of NYC. We will be returning to this hotel.

Loved the hotel - friendly helpful staff, clean rooms, wonderful breakfast and cocktails. Would stay in this quiet area of NYC again. A bit of a walk to the subway, but not too bad. Forced me to finally learn how to manage the NYC subway. I usually stay mid-town, but the noise bothers us, we live in a quiet area. It was wonderful having the two rooms, the cost dfor this would have been prohibitive in mid-town. Just be prepared to pay more taxi fares than you would if you stayed in a mid-town location, but even going to the upper area of town will be about $ 15- $20. Thiis is important at night because the walk from the subway is about 7 minutes and there are not as many people around at night as in the day. As a woman I felt safer taking the cab at night.

Great Place for Kids and family. Breakfast is included! Made to order breakfast not just muffins and bagels. Free happy hour too from 5:30 - 7:30!! The rooms were spacious and clean. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Good location too. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. There is even a movie theater IN the hotel! A view of The Statue of Liberty is only a few blocks away. Nice views along the river. The kids loved watching the boats go by. We even saw a Cruise ship! Overall a great experience. We will return when visiting New York again.

"Modern, clean hotel with large rooms. Great (and free) breakfast and Cocktail Party. 3 long blocks from Subway (A,C or E), but keep in mind, after business hours & on wkends, there aren't many people in area. Across street from Hudson River - nice views. Irish Bar with food, 2 blocks from hotel. "

This hotel was centrally located for the things we wanted to do. We particularly liked the WTC visitors center on Liberty St. It is located on tghe south side of the WTC site next door to a NYFD station which has a brass wall picture dedicated to lost heros. The hotel was in easy walking distance to several areas. We really enjoyed the hotel and would stay there again. The Free breakfasts were great.

Although a bit out off main subway accessibility (about a 6-8 minute walk to Chambers St, the nearest line), E.S. was a good value, especially if you have kids and need the extra room (and extra TV). Breakfast was good, varied, and plentiful. Drinks and munchies at cocktail time were a nice touch, although very spartan.

Location. Look, the hotel is fine (a little dull, uninspired, kind ofprofessional) with big rooms (unheard of in NY), but the location made it a total nightmare. It was impossible to access the subway (it was a ten minute walk) and also the construction on the street made it impossible to get to.

We selected this hotel because of the price, we have a family of 5, and all the other reviews were excellent. We loved it. Here are some suggestions - if you use the valet for $55, give them notice - they do not park at the hotel and it can take 30 minutes to get your car. If you walk to Battery Park, West is MUCH quicker and a straight shot, but walking along the water is a beautiful scenic view although MUCH longer, so take your pick based on what you prefer. The breakfast is fantastic and a great cost saver - one day we ate the breakfast, the evening reception, and other than some street snacks those were our meals - a great savings on food. The movie theater is very very nice and shows brand new releases if you've got a free night. There is an Eckerd Drug store right across the street in the AmEx building - very convenient. Also, there is a pizza shop, Chinese, Applebees and a bagel restaurant directly outside the back of the hotel. We used the subway and it was very clean - red is about 4 blocks by Broadway, blue is 2 blocks by Ground Zero; get a map from the concierge and you'll be on your way. At the end of the first day we stopped at Eckerd and got some gel soles - after that we had no trouble walking. When you need help just ask - everyone in NY was more than willing to help and they are used to giving directions. Lots of police officers, felt very safe in the subways and streets with the kids, even at night. Our teens loved Madame Tussauds (expensive but fun). NBC tour was great.

It had big, clean rooms and included breakfast and coctails. It's location was difficult to get to and cost us more than $50. extra to travel to and from. Wonderful hotel, with a free cooked to order breakfast and free coctails in the evening after checking in. The hotel is clean and luxurious. One of the best stay's I've had. The location was less desirable, the subway stations were closed on Sundays and we needed to walk over a mile with our luggage to find an open one. Cab rides cost at least 20$ from midtown, and the drivers tended to take a round about route to get to the World trade center location.

Restaurants and retail located in lobby, on the water. The valet stole the change our of my ashtray. Great hotel in a bad location. Valet parking is $55 per night. The attendant took $20 worth of change from my car. being just minutes from the world trade center site, the location was uncomfortable for me since I was with my young children. Although this might be considered perfect for some travelers, the rooms were clean and spacious although the elevator is not in close a proximity to any of the rooms. All in all, it is a good hotel gone bad.

For those, like myself, who do not know five star luxury, the NYC Embassy Suites was a welcome reprieve from the humdrum of everyday life. The sheets were high quality, the view was fantastic, and you can't beat free drinks.

I loved the location of this hotel. It was very quiet, and very accommodating for everything we wanted to do while in New York. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I and my cousin (22 yrs. old) stay in two-bedroom suite, very comfy and my cousin sleep on the sofa bed, the room is pretty big for 3 of us. The service is great and everything is excellent, except that bottle of water in the refrigerator are expensive, $*each, I recommend you should buy at the local market, cost only $* Well, after all, I rate this hotel a 4 stars. The rooms were very bright airy and attractive. The location was too far from the subway and parking rates were ridiculous. I very much enjoyed my stay and think the hotel compensates nicely for the poor location for leisure travelers (for business travelers/Wall Streeters the location is just fine). The price however was too high given the location.

The hotel is in a nice area. Has restaurants within walking distance on the water. Can walk easily to the subway to go uptown if you want. Easy to catch a taxi at the Hotel. The only complaint that I have is that the walls of the rooms are thin, so you can hear every sound that a neighboring room is doing. Then they complained about us in the morning when my kids got up and were a little loud. Otherwise, a good place to stay!

The rooms were siginificantly nicer than expected. $50/night for parking is ABSURD - and I am a native NY'er!!! Overall my experience was excellent, except for the parking situation. I have spent virtually my entire life in NYC and am accustomed to ridiculous prices, particularly for parking. But in all my years I have never, ever been as shocked and appalled as I was when I was informed it would cost me $50/night to park my car! I am still stunned!!! Other than that, I thought the hotel was excellent. The free breakfast was outstanding, as was the complimentary cocktail hour. I was very impressed. Very, very impressed.

IWe loved the location! The room was nice. The breakfast was very good except for the scrambled eggs-awful. Staff was helpful and courteous. It was in the Financial District, next to Meryl Lynch and very close to Ground Zero, very sad. Great places to eat near by and a movie theater with access through second floor of hotel. The pizza place was great, the sushi place was fabulous but the corner deli...... not good, not even the rice crispy treats. There is a mall in the Meryl Lynch building and a harbor just beyond.

Location is one block from WTC site, about 2 blocks from Chamberlain St subway terminal, and overlooks the Hudson River from the front entrance. Very nice complimentary cooked to order breakfasts, complimentary drinks and snacks every evening, the business center has multiple free terminals for internet access. Wireless and wired internet services in room, but they charge $9.95 a day for this making it less attractive than the free business center access. Lofted lobby is 15 floors high, hotel rooms were quiet and isolated from the ambient sound. Multiple restaurants and multiplex theater located down an escalator from the back of the lobby in the same building as the hotel. Easy walk across the street to the Hudson River with view of the statue of liberty, and running area along the river through Battery Park. Suites are comfortable, especially the beds. 15 minute walk to the South Street Seaport with shops and Bodies exhibit. World Financial Center is across the street to the south with nice small restaurants and shops, and commanding view of the WTC site in the lobby at the top of a beautiful set of marble stairs. This hotel was in a great location and was a great home base for a family trip to NYC. We saw plenty of young families in the hotel and found the hotel staff very friendly. We had no unanticipated needs and felt the hotel was very well run. If you want a family friendly hotel in downtown Manhattan the Embassy Suites are definitely worth consideration.

Excellent value, convenient + peaceful location on the weekend, wonderful breakfast buffet! When it says 2 beds, they mean one double bed plus a pull out couch - not ideal for everyone. Leisure travelers don't write off the financial district as a place to stay for your visit in NYC. This hotel is an excellent value and offers a peaceful weekend location with great river views and lovely parks across the street. Breakfast buffet with cook to order food can't be beat. Embassy Suites was all I read it to be. They have a preonline service that you can order things ahead of time for your visit, but mine never went through, so I was disappointed with that. We did not have robes, but a quick call got them in. The front desk was very efficient and pleasant as well as the bell hop, and this was at 1 am. The hotel was quiet, considering we were right next to a construction site. The breakfasts were great and there was plenty of food. Seating gets tight the later you go, but the early morning had plenty of seats. The bedding is all comfortable as well as the beds. The showers have hot water, plenty of it and the maid service was clean and efficient. I totally enjoyed having the restaurants on site as well as the movie theater. The manager's reception was ok, but I didn't book the hotel for that reason. There are plenty of taxis nearby, the buses run fairly close, but you have to hike a bit for the subway. One block from Ground Zero and a great view of the Hudson River. A really nice place to stay.

We stayed Dec 27- Dec 29 ,2008.The view of the harbor is not appropriate. We booked a harbor view , what we got is a view of the building across the street and and a memorial; which is directly in front of the hotel. The only view of the harbor has to be on the top floor. The decor is modern, bright colors..staff is polite, The Hotel offers a hot breakfast buffett. A good meal ; but the serving space is crowded,A plus is the managers reception, nightly at 5:30- 7:30 PM,which is an open bar with appetizers. The subway is quite a walk, but not too bad. Andy the evening concerige was helpful in finding a nice resturant. The area the hotel is located is nice ; felt safe, Cabs are avaible. I booked this with an online travel package. I would book this hotel again .I would not pay full price for the room.

We had the best possible of stays over Christmas. The Embassy Suites hotel is a bit out of the way in Battery Park City and there is not much around the hotel but since transportation via the subway is simple and inexpensive and it runs 24 hours a day it doesn?t seem to make much difference where you stay if you are visiting as tourists like we were. You go out in the morning and back at the end of the day. The hotel is west of West Street which is almost a freeway so you need to take the pedestrian overpass on Vesey Street on the north side of the World Trade Center to get over it. Once you are over the overpass you are in the Financial District and in the thick of things. We all recommend it highly.

Fantastic facilities made available (health club, restaurants, etc). A bit far (but still walking distance) from closest subway station. Comfort was outstanding; room appearance was good, only issue was horribly stained sofa. Also room service meal (not ordered by us) was left in hallway outside our door for over 12 hours (smelled quite bad after sitting for so long, luckily we couldn't smell it in the room, only in the hallway.) All things considered, these two things weren't too bad & the aside from them the experience was close to ideal!

Good water pressure, lots of space, clean, can walk to subway, and breakfast was great! Too many families, children, etc. Can hear them next door. If you work in financial district this will be a good choice. Too far from where I had to be, so will choose another hotel location. Clean, spacious, but way too many families there for me. Heard baby crying at night. Good water pressure in shower, comfortable bed. Lot of construction in area, trucks idling in front of my window. Lots of places to eat nearby. Heat and air conditioning work well. Liked the hotel, just maybe for a leisure trip rather than business trip.

I traveled with my husband and three children all under the age of 7. The service was impeccable. The staff was professional and informed. Their recommendations, directions were invaluable to us. Our dream was to attend the Macy's parade. Thanks to the concierge his insight allowed us to see the parade from a vantage point. Our stay was from Nov. 22- 28, 2008. I have stayed in many Embassy Suites but this one tops my list. The price was reasonable and we were treated like royality. The weather and three children didn't allow us to dine out as much as we would like to the room service was great. The food was fresh and well prepared. I have recommended this restaurant to all my friends and I will be returning this summer. After 12 years away from the big apple it was great to be back and feel safe, welcome and valued.

The room was well appointed. The restaurants had something to be desired. The hotel itself was very clean and well appointed. However, while it is probably a good location within the city for the weekday business traveler, the area had very little going on over the weekend for fun seekers. In fairness, there was always the subway to get to other parts of the city but being pregnant I wanted to stay nearby to eat. This unfortunately meant dining at the mediocre Chevy's restaurant.

I'm a frequent traveler to NYC, and I've stayed in numerous places throughout the city. This was the first time I stayed in true downtown, and I loved it! Away from the touristy hustle and bustle, I was able to enjoy true NY. Walking along the waterside, enjoying nearby restaurants, couldn't ask for anything more. What made the trip was this hotel. More space than I've seen for the price. Staff was wonderful, courteous and very helpful. Subway was a little farther away than I would have preferred, but it allowed me to justify eating great NY cuisine! The room was spottless and very spacious. And of course, the breakfast! The free breakfast was wonderful. Aa large selection of breakfast foods, some made-to-order. We've already booked another trip here this year, just in time for Christmas! This is a definite must-stay hotel.

Our stay was awesome and so glad we found this hotel. The room was very nice and clean and great for a family of 4 with pre-teens. Our flight was delayed getting to NYC so having flown from Houston, having restaurants like Chevy's, Applebee's, Italian food or Japanese food to choose from was really nice. The movie theater was an extra perk to have right downstairs, just wish we'd had time to enjoy it. The breakfast spread was great too. The staff was extremely courteous, especially at breakfast! Across the street from the hotel is more shops and restaurants too. This hotel was also convenient to the subway, Ground Zero and Statue of Liberty. I've stayed in NYC several times, but will continue to book my trips at this Embassy Suites!

Spacious for a 3-star hotel. Hotel mistakenly charged me $400, had to clear up with credit card company on the back end. lots of trouble. Good price for the amount of room and hotel class but the hotel charge me twice $200 for no reason. I was only able to get it fixed because I happen to call my credit card company for something else while I was in NYC. Otherwise, I would have left New York not knowing about this mistake and clear it up on the back-end.
