As an overnight stay prior to the London to Brigthon Bike Ride, this hotel location was ideal. The staff throughout our short stay were very helpful and pleasant. The room was basic but fit all our needs and was clean. The only change I would make is that when I book again I would request a room to the rear of the hotel as the traffic noise slightly interrupted our sleep. Overall would recommend to friends.

If all you want is a cheap bed for the night then this might be the place for you but I would not stay there again. The phrase \"you get what you pay for\" was never better illustrated than here. £50 B&B - what do you expect? I was glad to get clean sheets and a shower that worked with a view of the park but don't expect any frills because there aren't any. The place seemed to be run by the receptionist who did her best but whilst I was there, one of the guests had his van broken into in one of the local side streets.

for £40 a night for a double room, we got a basement room with poor light, bad carpet, old bathroom and the noise of the tube everytime it passed. of course for £40 you wouldn't expect much better. everything was clean except the floor who could use a vacum cleaner. the bathroom although was a bit old, it was very clean. the orom had good furniture, a big table, tv, and a clean wardrobe. breakfast is self service and we were offered orange juice, milk, jams and butter, white bread slices and two different cerals. you have to wake up early, as it's served from 7 to 9.

Room obviously had not been checked, or thoroughly vacuumed recently. TV didn't work (No aerial lead). Impossible to completely close window as building material outside was leaning against it, hence room quite cold. Kettle provided but difficult to fill directly from cold tap as sink very small and tap too low. Shower mixer unit didn't allow a hot shower despite plenty of hot water available. Staff forgot to turn on water heater to allow tea or coffee at breakfast for people like my self departing early.

1.The sheets on the bed had huge holes in them. 2.The shower was moldy and scruffy. 3.The toilet seat was wobbly. 4.The carpet had lots of dodgy patches. 5.The complementary hairdryer didn't work. 6.The cot we asked for wasn't in the room and they were unable to provide one on arrival. 7.However, the rooms were secure and I didn't feel like we were going to be broken into when we went out. 8.The bed was also comfortable. Not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, but the decoration and cleaning could use some serious work.

We were very disappointed with this hotel, and in fact moved to another hotel after two nights of our five night stay. The balcony doors did not lock (or even stay shut for that matter), the room was dirty and in a very poor state of repair. The bathroom was worse than the room itself. We can handle a small room, but not a dirty one, nor one in an unacceptable state of repair. I would not return to this hotel.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights during our stay to London. We chose it for the good online price, and the fact that it was close to London, but not inside of it. The hotel’s website gave good information on how to reach it, and also looked quite nice on the website. The photos must have been taken a long time ago, because it is getting quite worn down, and the from all the conversations we heard during our stay all of the rooms are experiencing problems that aren’t being fixed. Ours was nice enough- a bit hot because we couldn’t turn off the heater- but you don’t complain about that in winter! The continental breakfast was nice, the times were a bit limited, but long enough all the same. The location was good too- you can take a tube/ underground or overground train to Clapham Common or South, and it’s within walking distance of the hotel. Right out of the hotel are many supermarkets, take away shops and a Laundromat, and in the opposite direction there’s a bit less of everything. The bad point of our stay was definitely the staff- especially the manager. They were unhelpful, didn’t speak much English (or didn’t bother to try), they seemed lazy and unconcerned with our requests, and the manager in particular had loud conversations with the staff over the top of others (even at breakfast) and they openly argued and discussed work issues in front of clients- I found them to be highly unprofessional and rude. All in all, I think next time we visit London we will stay further into the city and pay a bit more for the privilege.
