The room was very clean and quite spacious for the price and the bed was comfortable. However, the shower head was slightly faulty and made showering an interesting experience! The breakfast of toast and cereals was adequate, although I did over hear some people moaning that they didn't like the idea of having to make their own toast! But for a budget hotel it was better than could be hoped for.

Well located, no frills, decent accomodation.Wasn't expecting a great deal from such cheap accomodation, but the reception staff were good despite our very late check in and were happy to amend our room booking details. Cannot make any complaints about the room or hotel as it all represented great value. You wouldn't take the missus there, but I was happy to use it as a place to get my head down when in London for a night out with mates! I have stayed in worse London hotels, that also cost twice the price. Free off street parking was an added bonus!

Basic accomodation at low priceThe accomodation here is very basic, but then the price of the room was very low too. For someone wanting a roof over their head, clean bedding and linen, it represents very good value. While I would be happy to stay again when seeking this sort of accomodation, I would not feel comfortable recommending to a friend. Also, it is much more basic than the 2 star rating and the pictures on the internet show.

I would recommend it to a friend who wishes to save money. The location is excellent, only a few blocks from the Underground, and in a nice neighborhood. The room was in need of restoration, but the price was reasonable, especially for London area.

Basically like a squat house for backpackers. Rooms are very small, curtains were hanging off rail, mould in the shower, window was rotten and would not shut. only had 1 towel on arrival in a double room and chap on reception looked at me stupid when asked for another. Tried to get somewhere else instead but were to late arriving in London. There is a lovely hotel/BB just down the road for £70 per night will go there in future.

A cautionary tale...Checking in time at the Lodge is 3pm. We arrived at approx 4pm to be told there was a maintenance issue being dealt with in the twin room we had booked. The receptionist asked us if we'd like to drop off our bags and come back later as the room would not be ready until 6pm! This was not acceptable to us due to two reasons. Firstly we'd just driven 5 hours to get there and secondly we were going to see a gig in Brixton Academy at 7pm. We decided to go and look at the room and found a guy in the bathroom tiling the shower, meaning we would be unable to use the shower that night anyway. Apart from that the fumes from the tiling grout were pretty bad. Upon pointing this out the receptionist offered us the use of a small cloakroom toilet/shower room in the main reception area which for me was simply not acceptable, not only due to its very public location but it also appeared very unclean and was in a completely separate part of the building. The twin room on offer was dirty and frankly not fit to be let out as guest accommodation. I am a tourism industry professional and I have seen some of the best and worst accommodation around, and this room was right up there in being one of the worst rooms I have ever seen. The receptionist stated that if he were us he would have taken the room as the usual tariff per night was £100 due to it being more like an apartment (it also had a lounge area and kitchen) but I don't believe that for a second. With the hotel being fully booked this was starting to look like it could be a serious problem for us. We informed the receptionist we were not willing to stay in the room and it was then he stated the only thing he could do was offer us a double room, that although had been booked by someone else, was available at that time as they had not yet arrived. Upon inspection of the room we found it to be more suitable than what we had been previously offered and decided to take it. This room was more in line with what I
