General Description

The castle exterior promises fun and adventure - which is exactly what you'll find inside Excalibur, one of the most recognizable landmarks of Las Vegas. Located in the heart of the famed Las Vegas Strip, Excalibur offers exceptional value and a range of dining and entertainment options in a setting that's fun, not fancy. Excalibur offers three floors of excitement. The property's main level is home to one of the friendliest, most exciting casinos on the Strip. Downstairs, visitors of all ages will find fun along the carnival midway. Excalibur's Castle Walk, a promenade above the casino, features a variety of shops and street vendors that recreate the ambiance of a Medieval bazaar. Scattered throughout the property are dining and entertainment venues that emphasize quality, value and friendliness. Amenities: The hotel's outdoor spaces include two huge pools, a man-made mountain, dramatic waterfalls and two thrilling water slides. The 2007 new and improved pool complex expands on the two existing and landscaped pools to feature additional spa areas, relaxing & reflecting pools, fire pits and other amenities. The 13,000-square-foot Royal Treatment Spa and Fitness Center offers massages, facials, a fitness center and separate pools and saunas for men and women. The bright, modern facility neighbors Excalibur's pool area. Castle Walk is home to restaurants, stores and a food court with familiar favorites like Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Quizno's, Cold Stone Creamery, Starbuck's and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (open 24 hours!). Excalibur's 100,000-square-foot casino is famous as a fun and friendly place to play. It's full of hot slot games as well as video poker, blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, pai gow and keno. Excalibur's all-new poker room places the wildly popular game into the center of the casino floor and a 150-seat sports book features a television at each seat. Casino players earn comps, cash back and invitations to special events through the Excalibur player's club. An elevated tram connects the hotel with neighboring sister hotels Mandalay Bay and Luxor. A Resort Fee of $7.50 per room, per night, will be charged at the front desk. This includes fitness center access each day of guests' stay; two (2) beverages and/or well drinks in any casino bar; two (2) games per stay at Excalibur's Midway entertainment venue; and unlimited local telephone calls from guest rooms. Long distance domestic calls are just 10 cents per minute. *** Guests must be 21 or older to check in. Maximum stay is 10 nights - Excalibur will not honor a booking longer than 10 nights. ***

This was my first trip to Vegas and I would absolutely stay at the Excalibur again. First of all, I just loved the look of it. The castle theme and the fountains in the moat. I was fortunate they gave me an upgrade on my room but I am sure I would have loved what I had actually booked. The room as well as the hotel itself was very clean. I traveled alone and felt it was a very safe place to stay. There was lots of security personnel as I am sure most of the hotels have. You have many so many choices of places to eat. Too many to mention, but there was fast food to casual to fancy. Lots of entertainment with bands and karoke, shows, and of course the casino itself. They even had a welcoming reception. I also thought the hotel was a great location on the strip. I know if I return I would stay there again. There isn't anything negative I could say about my stay at the Excalibur.

A friend and I stayed here since we were going to a concert at Mandalay Bay and this was a lot cheaper, but has a tram that connects you to Mandalay. Unfortunately the tram stopped running by the time our concert was over and we had to hoof it back to the casino. We stayed in a widescreen room for a few dollars more and it was worth it. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable beds, and a big bathroom with lighted make up mirror; a must for 2 girls; There is not one hotel on the vegas strip that has a coffee maker in the room, and everyone makes you pay for the fitness room. We snagged a deal that included use of the fitness room, which was updated and huge with new machines, and a nice day spa area. The pool area was recently upgraded as well with 4 separate pools- one with a waterslide to keep the kids occupied, one "adult" pool (which was full of seniors) and 2 other pools filled with 20-40 somethings. There were plenty of chairs and palm trees surrounding the area, and cabanas available. There was a group of frat boys playing beer pong by the pool. I saw this happening inside the casino as well. I don't get it- beer pong seems gross. Dining at the Excalibur is limited- there are many cheap fast food options, a buffet, a random steakhouse, and Dick's Last Resort. We ended up heading over to the MGM for decent food. There is a lot of smoke in the casino, but the slots are loose. They have an arcade downstairs for kids, but if you have kids the best place to go is Circus Circus. Overall a good value and location.

I was VERY disappointed with the interior of the Excalibur. We were put into a corner room with no view of the city. The air conditioner was not working properly, there were only 3 stations that came in clearly on the television, the initial towels in the bathroom were stained and dirty, there were stains on the sheets and every morning there was back up from someone else's plumbing in our bathroom sink - look like men's shaving stubble. The front desk was courteous but we never seen housekeeping. The Italian restaurant within the hotel was exceptional. The pool areas were great, however, they closed at 7:00pm. I understand that they want people in the casinos, but Las Vegas is a city that never sleeps - that is really early to close a pool especially as hot as it is there. Overall, my trip was wonderful but I will not stay at the Excalibur again.

Huge line to check in. Then harassed everytime you walked through by a time share company to sign up for there presentation which was supposed to be 2 hours and you would get free show tickets, which we fell for. The presentation lasted 5 hrs and we had no intrest in what so ever. not the greatest room ever by any means.

I was not to happy with my stay here!!! your restraunt the Sherwood has the slowest waitresses in town, the food was no good and when I complained all I heard was what would you like me to do, well let me guess dont charge me for it and try to impove on it!! Also we had to pay 5 more buck a night for resort fees, for stuff we did not plan on using, when gambling we were never offered a complimentery drink at all. We spent more time at the Luxor and were treated better. Oh and to top it off our view from our room was a brick wall!!!

EXCELLENT Hotel, Rooms spotless, Staff extermely friendly. Was a little worried from some of the write-ups for this hotel, but we found all the negative write ups to be untrue. Check in was a snap (even with the Las Vegas Check in lines). All resturants in hotel excellent. Never met a grouchy staff member. They all had smiles even when you ask them dumb questions. Will refer this hotel to others with no problem. Rates are right also.

Our first room was located in Tower 1. You need to cross through the casino to get to the pool area. There is no other way to the pool. We requested a change to Tower 2. We were accomodated for an extra fee because those rooms had been remodeled and where much nicer. Tower 1 rooms are comparable to a Super 8. Nothing special. Tower 2 rooms were much better and worth the extra $* both in room comfort and to get to the pool. The pool area is very nice and enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was very good. Lots of food choices. The lunch/dinner buffet was good, although nothing special. But for $* per person all you care to eat all day is a good price in Las Vegas.
