easy to get to JFK next to a major high way - no sleep - no DSL internet access Poor value for money. Hotel website indicated wireless email access - NOT true and no DSL access available in the rooms. Noise from highway kept you awake most of the night - apart from its proximity to JFK this hotel has nothing going for it

Free wireless Internet Stairs from lobby to elevator Shuttle van driver from Airport to Hotel was very courteous. Hotel is very close to the airport, which is great in the morning for catching flights. Free wireless Internet access from the room. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower was better than most, showerhead was adjustable and height was good. Food at restaurant was very good.

The bathrooms were nice. The bed was not as comfortable as I like and the bedding wasn't that nice. There was not enough parking at all. The clerk was far from friendly. The hotel was not easy to bring your luggage in because of stairs. The service in the restaurant was not good. A second clerk proved to be much nicer but the damage was already done.

Handy airport hotel, recently redecorated. Room small but completely adequate. Bathroom nice. Biggest negative was heater... extremely noisy- it was cold out and heater mostly blew cold air and then some hot. Staff eager to help. Restaurant on premises handy though food not wonderful. Breakfast generous but mainly packaged foods. Self made waffles nice. Appreciated the 1p checkout with flexibility. Shuttle to hotel not operating at night when we came in... supposed to take air train and then call hotel. On return to airport, shuttle every hour on the hour which is okay but evey half hour would be better; shuttle bus totally full.

They offer you a more comfortable room for the price of other hotel's standard room, more spacious with the kitchen. A plus especially when you travel for sometime, a possible break to eat something more casual, health and relaxing. Good.

The shuttle driver on duty when i arrived on 8-25-05 was very friendly and assisted me with locating subway station. excellent employee. The hotel smelled like cigarettes, hard to get inter net connection, TV not working properly and i had to call several times to front desk for help. I would never stay at the Double Tree hotel at this location again. It wasn't clean enough, majority of staff wasn't customer friendly and I didn't feel safe. Someone's car alarm went off for hours on my last night there and I called and advised front desk but nothing was done. I also wasn't advised that I had to make reservations for shuttle for my morning flight out, and I had to spend additional money for cab fair. I received a bill from front desk which was less than showed my nightly fees as $81.00 and I had paid $100. I could have used the additional money during my stay in New York. I will not use your online service again, as I felt I was ripped off. I am sure this doesn't make any difference to your company, as you make plenty of money off other under privilege individuals like myself!

The hotel provided free parking as well as a shuttle to the airport. The staff was not hospitable at all, thee signature warm cookie was not offered at chec-in. We were quite disappointed in the overall atmosphere of this particular Doubletree. We have stayed many times at other Doubletree locations and have always been treated well. This time I was given the impression that we were an inconvenience. When informed that we were only given one wash cloth, no apology was offered. The next night we received no wash cloths, again no apology. There was only one cookie in the warmer, hot but very hard and obviously not fresh, again no apology offered. We'll not return to this hotel at this location.

I was extremely happy with the service at this hotel, and felt the staff was really committed to doing it's best. I found a cracked coffee pot right after checking in to my room, and was sent a replacement for it in minutes. As I was only staying one night, the front desk printed my airline ticket for me (unprompted by me) so I didn't even have to leave my room and use the biz center. For an airport hotel, the service is surprisingly aware, helpful, and focused on customer service.

They picked us up very quickly from the airport when we called. We only waited five minutes! When you turned the fan off in the room you could hear the traffic from the interstate. The parking lot was a little difficult to access-due to snow This hotel fit our needs perfectly. We were just staying over night on our way to Pennsylvania. They had great facilities, on site coffee shop, computer center, parking, just what we needed for our short stay.

Fast check-in and check-out, shuttle service. Bad neighborhood. The shuttle to/from airport was prompt and smooth. There was no difficulty with check-in or checkout, and the staff were courteous. The bedroom and bathroom were both in good order, although the wall-mounted air conditioning unit was slightly noisy. The 2.5 star rating is appropriate. The neighborhood around JFK is marginal.

I had a flight arriving at JFK about midnight and was flying out the next morning around 9am. The Fairfield Inn in Jamaica turned out to be the perfect hotel for an overnight stay. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't recommend it for a family vacation because it's in a pretty dismal area in terms of charm. Grey and industrial and very near the expressway. However, for an airport hotel it excels. The room was spotless, the whole place is non-smoking, the tv was large. The lobby was spotless and the staff bent over backwards to make sure we had a great stay. They even gave us warm chocolate chip cookies when we checked in. Truly nice people. Friendly and warm. The airport shuttle service was on-time and efficient. I've rarely had a more positive experience at an airport hotel.

"I stayed overnight at the Fairfield Inn twice on my way in and out of JFK. The rooms were very clean, the staff was very nice and helpful and the food was actually good! I hightly recommend this hotel. The only problem is the neighborhood is not good, but the hotel is ideal for business travelers! Oh, I had to take a taxi to the hotel and for some reason, they are not familiar with the hotel, so be sure to take your own directions to share them with the taxi driver!"

This hotel was a nice, less-than-Manhattan-priced option for a one-night New York layover on a return trip from Europe. The front desk and bell staff were gracious overall and extremely helpful in terms of providing directions for accessing the subway system for a trip into Brooklyn. As well, they later worked together to provide us transportation directly back to our terminal at JFK airport, as we had missed the regularly scheduled shuttle departure (to the SkyTrain connection point only) and our flight time was getting tight. The room was quiet, clean and nicely furnished, though somewhat small. The in-hotel dining room staff was very friendly, but a fairly simple dinner order took VERY long to arrive at the table (but was good once it arrived, and reasonably priced). At the included breakfast the next morning (good, mostly continental, with a wide variety of offerings including fresh waffles. Free Internet in a business center adjacent to the dining room was appreciated for checking flight times.

Excellent service, the staff was friendly the rooms were very clean . Breakfast was good. We ate dinner one night and for the price it was pretty good. It's about 6/7 minutes from the airport. The free shuttle was a plus. I would definitely stay hear again. Will return in December for more christmas shopping this is where we will stay. The free shuttle to the subway was a nice surprise too.

Nice clean property with great service. The area, don't leave the property after dark! Great place to stay while traveling through. Nice rooms, great free high speed internet in room and a full service business center with computers, printers and faxes. Pleasant staff. The only downfall is the area - I would not recommend walking around outside the property after dark by yourself. If you shuttle in and out you will be fine!

We spent three nights after intending to stay for only one. We were surprised at the cleanliness of the rooms. Our room was small but comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, the linen was spotless, fresh and clean. One morning we missed breakfast and the staff happily went in the kitchen and brought us something to eat. Though pricey, we would difinitely stay there again.

I made a mistake in selecting the area. The location is too far from the city, but the bus to the subway is only 2 blocks away. We were still able to commute to the Manhattan economically. The hotel staff were all wonderful, friendly and most of all helpful. They always had a smile and a hello for us. The room was small and without a closet; but there was an armoire for clothing in the room. The hotel shuttle service was great; leaving every half hour to the airport, 24 hours a day. The business room was very heslpful with 3 computer terminals, a printer, pay phone and a fed ex machine. The location was conveniet to the expressway, public bus transportation to the subway into Manhattan, the area was okay in terms of safety and close to the Air Train and JFK Airport. If I needed to be closes to Jamaica/Queens, or the JFK Airport I would stay there again and reccommend it to friends and family. We had a very pleasant stay. It surpassed my expectations and I rate it 3 Stars.

This is a very nice hotel. The bed was great. It has a nice little restaurant and bar and the breakfast was really good with lots of variety. It has a shuttle to pick you up from the airport after you take the air train to Station C which is quite a walk when you are pulling two heavy suitcases. On the way back to the airport they drop you off right in front of the check in. The staff was very friendly and helpful and you get warm cookies when you check in. It was a great place to stay after spending 8 or 9 hours on the plane from Rome.

Loved the cookies. The location. This hotel was great with a few minor things like a dirty carpet, so so location and a view of a parking lot. Still, the staff was great and serviced (room service)was good too. They gave cookies which was really nice and the price was just. We would stay again. Thank you.

The staff was friendly and helpful in the restaurant. Traffic noise can be heard in the rooms. If you don't mind the traffic noise that can be heard in your room, then this hotel is great. When you go to this hotel expect to pay $10 a night plus tax for parking. Also, the beds where very firm. The alarm clock is able to have MP3s attached to it. But the back lighting for the clock may not work. The first room I was in, I had to move furniture to plug in the frig in the room.

the hotel was very clean, and the staff was extremely helpful It felt like there were no windows or walls, you could hear everything going on outside, or in other peoples rooms It's very close to JFK International and has a shuttle to and from there. But being close to the airport in this case was uncomfortable because it felt like the planes were landing in the parking lot outside due to bad sound insulation.

Location, free wireless internet. Smoking room, unclean toilets - not cleaned even after reporting, staff weren't that polite. We stayed in this hotel in September 05 for one day. We were given a Smoking room although I had called a week earlier to request a non-smoking room. The free shuttle took forever to come. On checking in we found the toilet seat to be stained and dirty. They did not clean it even after we reported that. They said, that's the way the toilet is. Went out at midnight to get some toilet cleaner and cleaned it myself. Will never stay here again. Rude staff.

"Stayed here recently and really enjoyed the hotel. The rooms are small, but they are very clean. (We are seldom impressed, but this was a good one) The hotel staff (Front desk and shuttle drivers) are very pleasant and helpful. We really enjoyed chatting with them. The hotel itself is not convienently located to resturants, but there are great resturants in the area that deliver, or the shuttle drives will take you and pick you up. We are actually staying here tomorrow (pre-flight) because of the service we recieved last week."

The purpose of our stay was a break in plane travel during an international trip before continuing home -- we wanted some sleep in a hotel near the airport where we could also do a morning trip into Manhattan. The hotel provides free shuttle service to and from the airport and to the subway at Jamaica Station (takes about 1 hour). You can also get free shuttle service returning from the city by taking the subway/train back to the airport. Our only complaint -- thin hotel walls. The main purpose of getting a hotel was to sleep, but we were awakened at 3:30 AM by people in the next room who arrived and proceeded to carry on a loud conversation until 6:10 AM when they left. Not knowing the area well enough or what the people might be like, and not feeling like getting dressed and checking room numbers at 3:30 AM, we did not call the desk to complain. Otherwise -- reasonably priced for the area, adequate breakfast buffet, decent and clean rooms, and helpful staff.

I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was clean, smoke free, newly renovated, very nice. I have mixed feelings about the staff. One of the members of the staff was fantastic. They were hopefully training rest of the staff. I felt safe inside of the hotel however the neighborhood was rugged. Valet is the only parking option at this hotel which cost $10 per day. Cars are stacked over each other. Not convenient if you need to get items out of your car. $15 for cab to subway. Would go back.

This hotel has everything that you would expect from any full service hotel with a very reasonable price. But the kind of service I received here, you probably won't find some where else. when we arrived with my one year old daughter, I was parked in ten minutes guest registration area and by mistake I locked myself out of the car. All of our belongings were inside the car including my daughters milk and milk bottles. Now I am stuck with 2 serious problems. One car keys locked inside the car and second my poor baby hungry and crying for food. As a parent you can understand the pain you go through when your baby is hungry and are unable to feed her. I was very angry and frustrated myself not knowing what to do. Charles Patel, the GM was very quick to respond. we quickly jumped in his car and we drove to the nearest walgreens and our daughter stopped crying within 10 minutes. That was such a great relief for us. He also used his own roadside assistance service through his verizon cell phone plan and within half an hour the technician were at the hotel and opened the car lock for us. Mr. XXX appeared to us like a Messiah who was sent just to save our day. Thanks XXX for the outstanding service ! !

Although the room was much smaller than I expected (based on stays at this franchise in the past), the room was ok, and did not smell of cigarettes, which some do, even though the chain is 100% smokefree. Thankfully, there was a small restaurant/bar in the hotel because there was nothing else within walking distance. The staff was efficient and helpful. The airport shuttle was on-time and the drivers pleasant.

They gave us cookies at check in Not enough parking for all guests, rooms weren't clean, staff was not helpful, tiny rooms, etc We needed a hotel convenient to JFK Airport. This was supposedly a 2.5 star hotel, but seemed more like a 1.5 star. Although it was a 90 degree night we had to leave our window open to the two six to eight lane highways just outside our window. Why? When we turned on the AC it smelled like acrid urine. The carpet was scary, also....meaning I didn't dare to walk on it in my bare feet. The room was so small we didn't have a place to put our luggage.

I would not recommend this hotel due to it's location right next door to a freight company that must do business 24/7. Friendly staff. Standard not up to regular 2.5* standard. I stayed there very briefly. It was average and rooms were clean, but not anything to rave about. I would not recommend it over other hotels.

Free Internet in each room... 1.5 hour delay for the hotel van pickup @ JFK last time I have stayed at this hotel 6 times in the past, and the pickup at JFK airport ALWAYS takes too long. It is only a 8 minute drive to the airport but it always takes 30-45 minutes for the hotel van to pickup the guests. The hotel seems safe but the neighborhood doesn't seem save at all.

Cookies. Location, cleanliness, desk clerk, appearance. Will never stay at this hotel again. Will never risk another experience like this again by selecting this quality level. Dirty sheets, dirty pillow covers, broken toilet, dirty hallways, mean desk clerk, slow airport shuttle, torn carpet, smelly, smelly, smelly.

Room was very clean, and front desk staff was excellent. Would definitely stay here again, if you want to be near the airport.
