The Raffles Vierjahreszeiten Hotel is located on the bank of the Alster Lake with the city's sites and some of the most exclusive shops within easy walking distance. Some claim that this handsome 19th-century town house is the best hotel in Germany. It is certainly very lavish even when compared to other deluxe hotels with antiques filling the public rooms, fresh flowers in massive vases and rare oil paintings hanging on the walls. Although no two guest rooms are alike, they are all sumptuous, with period furnishings, oriental rugs, and all the modern luxuries including bedside controls, double glazing, and bathrooms containing shower-tub combinations. Most rooms have a walk-in closet and WAN is now available in most parts of the hotel. Facilities and services are extensive. The hotel’s ‘Amrita’ Health Club offers a hair salon, massage, sauna, steam bath, and hydro-massage. Additionally the hotel boasts a bar, wine shop, baby-sitting, dry cleaning, laundry service, concierge, business services, meeting room and parking (fee). The hotel’s gourmet Haerlin restaurant is very elegantly furnished and decorated in cream and light green colours. The Doc Cheng offers Asian-Fusion cuisine and has its own tandoori oven, over 40 beer types and 1200 different wines. The Jahreszeiten grill is also an informal restaurant, furnished and decorated in traditional style. Breakfast is served in the Cafe Condi and, for those in a hurry, there’s also a small patisserie. Despite its large size, personal service is a hallmark of the Vier Jahreszeiten and the staff make an effort to know all their regular guests.
