First, we truly enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs. The employees at the hotel were very helpful and pleasant. Our room was not ready when we arrived, but we were a bit early and they gave us choices. They even offered a place to change for brunch while we waited for our room to be ready. We expected our room to be old and small, but we were pleasantly surprised to be put into a large room with a very nice view. (This was one of the choices) The bathroom was nice, but was in need of repair due to many years of use. The hotel was old, but that was what we had come to see. The lobby and sitting rooms and even the exterior were beautiful. The indoor pool was never full, the hot tub was full once. Yes, it was expensive, but we thought it was worth it, at least for a once in a lifetime stay.

We stayed at this hotel from July 2nd-4th and this hotel is 100% worth staying at if considering travelling to Banff. It's in a great spot and has many activities & options for exploring, relaxing & indulging. The spa is amazing, the restaurants are great & trails were really really nice. We were upgraded to the 5th floor Gold suites which was a real treat. Private check-in & out and it's own private lounge with food & drinks (free when staying on the floor). The staff are fantastic and willing to please. Rooms are tastefully decorated & enhance the atmosphere. The golf course is a good challenge & has beautiful views and some wildlife to witness every now and then as well. Just a perfect spot for a really nice getaway. I'll definitely return!!!

Christmas could not be better spent than at the Banff Springs Hotal. The hotel is always perfection and the over the top christmas experience is indescribable. The online pack saved at least two thousand dollars over ""retail"". We have stayed at the hotel many times before and we were looking for a ski trip. The package showed up un-announced and we jumped at it. There is NO finer hotel in the world.

I personally do not understand any of the negative reviews on here about the Banff Springs. I ahve stayed here numerous times (just this past weekend in fact) and have always had an amazing stay. The staff seems to outdue themselves every time. All of the rooms I have stayed in me and my family have enjoyed. While some of the rooms may be smaller, or some have a smaller bathroom, this is only because when the hotel was built....there was 1 bathroom to a floor. I would rather a smaller room with a bathroom then to share with an entire floor personally. I just love the history of this hotel and the new Gold Floor is just spectacular. While people may complain about the rates of things, you must keep in mind it is a resort town and the prices are par with Whistler and other such places. This is by far the finest hotel in the Fairmont chain and probably one of the finest in the world. I cant wait to go back.

Beautiful view and that is it. Highly recommend to stay at other hotels cause you can't see anything anyway from inside the room unless you stay in a suit by paying high price . When I stay at the high quality hotels such as Fairmont, Four Season or Ritz, I expect good service and best comfort. But, the room was worst than a motel. They had old 19" TV without movie channel and less than 6 feet wide bathroom. The bed was so old I was able to hear the squick sound. I thought I was staying at $ motel. Also, I had to call a maintanence because the water wasn't draining in the bathtub. Maintanence finally showed up after third request. However, the problem occurred again next morning. So, I requested again on the way out, but nothing was done when I came back in the evening. What a nightmare. Worst hotel I've ever experienced.

The hotel is very beautiful; grounds are immaculate. The room was very small for the price.
