Forest Suites Resort, located in South Lake Tahoe next to the new Heavenly Ski Resort Village, combines the atmosphere of a secluded mountain lodge with condo style suites and resort amenities, including one pool, two hot tubs, a lounge, fitness center and, during the summer months, access to a private beach on Lake Tahoe. Situated on 5.5 forested acres the hotel is conveniently located only steps away from the State-line casinos and the new Heavenly Ski Resort Village and Gondola, yet worlds away in a pristine mountain environment. These spacious condo-style suites are among the largest in Lake Tahoe with the one and two bedroom suites ranging from 650 to 850 sq. ft. and featuring large bedrooms and living rooms, separate dining areas and fully equipped kitchens. In addition to the suites, the rest offers traditional hotel rooms appointed with all the conveniences of a resort hotel. Minimum age required at check-in is 21. The front desk folks were nice, and we got any service that we requested. BUT THE HOTEL WAS SHABBY, AND NOT TOO CLEAN, STAINED CARPETS, STOPPED UP SINKS, BEARS ROAMING THE PARKING LOT. THIS PLACE WAS REALLY NICE....15 YEARS AGO. iT HASN'T BEEN KEPT UP THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

I have stayed at serveral ski resorts and this one was the worst! the staff was not friendly and unwilling to help. the spa was never working and the gym was closed most of the time. as for children, this is not the place. it is also way to far from the ski lift. This resort including the Heavinly Village people was such a disappointment. there brochure states children under 5 ski free and this is not so. I was told they made a mistake in their brochure.

Checked in for our honeymoon. Thought that it would be a nice hotel judging from the outside, I judged wrong. We got to our room there was blood on our sheets, mold on shower and toilet. A/C didn't work. We went and complained and they changed rooms for us. I accidentally left my shampoo and conditioner in the original room not even an hour before we got into the new room, they told me at the front desk that our stuff was probably gone because they let the staff keep anything they find. My car got keyed in their parking lot and there was nonstop construction going on. The second room was just as disgusting, luckily I had a sleeping bag and slept on top of the bed. I felt like they did nothing to compensate us for our troubles and were pretty rude. Most of the staff doesn't speak english. BOTTOM LINE: do not stay here ever!!!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and felt right at home. Used the guest laundry facilites and had no problems. Staff was over the top friendly. Free PC and internet access in lobby. I will stay here again.

We spent only oine night here, but was very impressed with the overall value and ammenities of this modest resort. The one bedroom suite with a kitchen was a great price (midweek), and the continental breakfast was very substantial, lots of healthy choices..we really loved the location, just adjacent to the much more spendy resorts, we could walk to Heavenly's gondola rides, the shops and cinema. parking was a bit tight, though we always found a spot..the staff was very helpful and prompt. I hope we can stay here again, its a great family place, a bit worn and not flashy, but comfortable, clean and just right.!!

We have stayed here a half dozen times in the last 15 or so years and love the location which is just over the California line and right under the gondola. The staff is friendly and the grounds are well kept, but that is where the pluses end. While the suites are still large and comfortable, it appears little to no money has been spent on upkeep and updating of the facilities. The carpet is badly worn and soiled in the hallways and almost as bad in the rooms. Room and bathroom decor is outdated and the drainage is poor. I would recommend it if they spend a bunch of money, otherwise I seriously doubt it will survive.

This hotel was not in the best shape, floors were uneven in our room but for the most part the location was great for the pricing. We were able to walk to the casinos that we wanted to go to. The pool area was nice and inviting. Everyone we saw seemed to be enjoying themselves. It is not your upscale hotel but I enjoy having a living room and kitchen area when I stay overnight. Having the option of having your own kitchen is well worth it. I would stay here again. The price compared to the casino hotels provided us with so much fun money that it was worth walking on an uneven floor.
