Great HotelReally nice place, great decor, food good. We had teh DBB 'deal' which was good value for money. Need to eat there, as it is a bit out in the country. When we arrive, barman (really helpful) explained that receptionist had to leave for a family crisis, but would be back in 30 mins - would we liek a free drink in etn bar while we waited - great customer service. She cam back about 20 mins later. Room well furnised, nice view over farmland. Only downside, Fri eve @ 10 am, no-one there - all in bed or gone home, so it lacked atmosphere/life. Breakfast good. Staff bery friendly & helpful.

Menu choiceFor a hotel of this quality I found the menu at the restaurant very disappointing both in terms of the choice therein but also the exorbitant prices for items on the menu. Perhaps the proximity to the M40 and therefore London has led to 'London prices' being adopted.We instead chose to eat at a local Indian which was fabulous both in terms of food quality and value for money.

Overnight stay April 2009I have stayed in many high quality hotels on business and leisure but none do I rate as highly as Fox County Hotel for breakfast. The chef provided the best gourmet cooked breakfast ever. The food was simple poached eggs, bean and toast, the presentation had the \"wow\" factor and the taste was very good. If that was impressive enough, the breakfast price was only Â£8.95.

Friendly, clean and comfortableLovely hotel/pub. Fantastic, quiet, clean room with welcoming friendly staff. Although in a quiet location the hotel is only around a mile form the M40 and 20 or so minutes from the M25 - very convenient. It just goes to show that the price you pay has nothing to do with the service and quality you receive.Needles to say I would recommend this place without hesitation and will be staying there again.

Very nice indeedSometimes you find a little gem and here it is. Immaculate room with great view over the deer park. Exeptional Staff. Great food with huge helpings. Cannot praise this hotel enough. 2 points.1. I do not work for or have any connection with the hotel.2. Visit this hotel before they wise up and increase the prices.

Fox Country HotelI stayed at this hotel mainly because the price offered was a substantial discount on the published rate, and in general reviews were good. This was an overnight stop travelling back North after an early start and a full day's meetings in London. The hotel was a bit in the middle of nowhere and must suffer from a perceived lack of passing trade. The rooms were good value at the price I paid, but I would have been unhappy if I had paid the full rate. Corridors were narrow with several bags, and the rooms were slightly small but nicely appointed with good in-room facilities, and did have the best shower I have had in ages.I was invoiced Â£10 for wifi internet in the room for 24 hours, but this crashed within an hour of arriving and never returned, which was bad news as a business traveller hoping to catch up with emails etc but the charge was refunded the next morning.Evening meal was let down by a requested medium/well steak turning up medium/rare, and was a bit expensive, but it was washed down with a decent pint. Breakfast was cooked to order and was fine.On the whole it was nice, but wouldn't make me rush back. The room and restaurant/bar area were very clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent hotel with very friendly and courteous staff. The evening menu is great and the breakfast frshly cooked to very high standard. Food is most certainly one of the hotel's strenghths. Rooms are well appointed. This is the first time I have stayed there and it is a terrific find'. Newly refurbished the hotel deserves to do well.

Very nice hotelWe had a fabulous deal from laterooms and the hotel was lovely and the area wonderfully rural but easy to find. only two minor complaints, the walls were a little thin and the coffee tasted like instant despite the breakfast being a little on the expensive side. But everything else was superb, the breakfast waiter was very helpful particularly. We would certainly stay there again.

Rooms are very compact and noisy - my room was located at the top of the stairs and therefore i heard the hall door close with very person going to and from their room. The bar area was nice and service was good for drinks, although my evening meal took quite a while and was over cooked when it arrived. The portions were quite small and i was glad to have ordered a side dish to accompany it. Breakfast was very quiet - i assume the member of staff was running reception and breakfast as he kept disappearing for large periods of time. It took 20 mins to get some toast! I only had continental breakfast in the end, which was all laid out on a table in the corner and there was a good selection. I do like this hotel as it is good value for money. I have stayed before and the service & food has been a lot better, i think it is just hit and miss to which room you stay in to the level of noise.
