Built in 1868, the Gastonian is comprised of two Regency-Italianate style mansions connected by a wooden walkway overlooking a formal garden. Its location is within walking distance of antique stores, museum houses, civil war memorials, old churches, and Savannah's finest restaurants. Tybee Island is 15 miles away. "The concierge at the Gastonian was very helpful and gracious. The entire staff was pleasant and friendly. The breakfast was outstanding and the evening dessert & coffee was very good. The only area of improvement in our room could be the bed. It was squeaky (very) and a little on the hard side, although my wife thought it was comfortable. The location wasn't as in the middle of everything as I would have hoped, but still well within walking distance. Very nice stay."

We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and enjoyable place to stay for our anniversary trip. Our room was peaceful and restful, serving as our sanctuary after long walks in steamy weather. The location was close enough to the major sites, yet far enough away that we never experienced any outside noise or hustle-bustle. The majority of our dinner reservations and guided trips were recommended by the staff and arranged by the concierge, making us feel very pampered. We never had a bad meal, either at the inn for breakfast, or at any of the places they recommended for lunch or dinner. The afternoon tea gave us a great opportunity to meet some of the other guests and enjoy the beautiful and tasteful decoration in the public areas of the house. The turn-down service complete with weather predictions for the following day was another great touch. Overall, everything was done very nicely, tastefully and subtlely - perfect southern charm.

The staff provided my husband and I the best service! Every place we wanted to see and visit was just a call to guest services! Everything from cab pick up, restaurant reservations to borrowing the beach chairs! The tray service for breakfast each morning (complimentary) beats the chain hands down! The wine , soft drinks and treats served everyday from 4-6 p.m. was fantastic! The room was clean and bathroom was so spacious! We would definitely stay again! Hats off to the Gastonian!

Less nice than what I expected. No help to get the suitcases to the 2nd floor. OK room, but not worth the cost. Same with breakfast. Wonderful living room. Found things under the bed that belonged to some other guests. Having it to do again, I would stay at one of the new hotels on the River.

We had a wonderful time at the Gastonian. It is so much fun to stay at a B&B and really get to meet other guests. What better way to find out about the city than sharing your thoughts and experiences during tea time or at the breakfast table. We had a lovely room with a queen bed, private balcony and a beautiful old fashioned claw-footed tub. Breakfast was fantastic (we had it brought to our room each morning). We know that there are many beautiful choices among the B&B's in Savannah but when we come back we will stay at the Gastonian again!!!
