General Description

If you're looking for budget accommodation in Berlin with easy access to all the sights and attractions, the Generator is the perfect place to stay. Newly built, and with a funky design, the hotel offers excellent value for money, plus the chance to mingle with like-minded travellers and exchange your travelling stories. The Generator is located very close to an S Bahn station, from where there are fast trains all through the day to every part of Berlin, allowing you easy access to restaurants, clubs, and sights. Accommodation is simple, but of a very high standard of cleanliness. Rooms are clean and fresh, some with en suite shower rooms, some with shared shower facilities. Towels, paper and soap are all provided for your convenience. The highlight of the Generator is the public areas. The restaurant - dubbed fuel stop and featuring an industrial theme, is where you'll be able to find a hearty continental breakfast in the mornings, included in the price. Good value meals are also available here throughout the day. In the turbine hall you'll find a large area kitted out with stylish metal furniture, where you can eat and relax. The snazzy circular bar is a favourite, featuring mtv, pool tables, and a beer garden in the summer. The hotel provides pcs for internet access, and a separate quiet room with more pcs, and information on where to go and what to do in Berlin. NB. some rooms have en suite facilities, some offer shared bathrooms on the same floor. Please take note of this when booking a room.

The location is excellent and just next to a public transportation station. The only drawback is that the wall and the door is thin. You can hear noise from people in the corridor or next doors. Overall, it's a good choice to stay if you plan to do lots of sightseeing.

Good hostel, good entertainment facilities and fairly clean. Can be quite a walk to toilets/shower walk if you have a shared facilities room but what can you expect in a hostel. Good bar area and friendly staff. Takes around 30mins to get to the centre of Berlin on the tram system. Located right outside the Landsberger Alle station.

Fantastic value, and also a really quirky place to stay. Good bar in the evening - very cheap in the 2hr happy hour - and well-appointed rooms. Very close to both S-Bahn (Landsberger Allee) and Tram connections directly into the city. You can be in Alexanderplatz in 10 minutes or so. Highly recommended.
