There are several excellent viewpoints, the lakeshore and tumbling waterfalls within easy walking distance as well as numerous resturants, cafes, bars and public houses. Glencree makes the ideal base for enjoying the fabulous Lake District whether you want to just relax and take in the spectacle, explore the fells, take a boat ride, visit museums and country houses or enjoy a panoramic tour with someone else doing the driving. There is Windermere Golf course nearby, bicycle hire available, forest parks with nature trails and sculptures, horse riding, fishing and all the water sportsBeing a family-run concern, we are able to offer a personal service to make sure that your stay with us is comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The ground floor has a large guest lounge with colour flat screen TV, a newly-built, walk-through dining room and a ensuite double bedroom for guests who have difficulty with stairs. The delightful, individually designed bedrooms are all centrally heated, have en suite bath or shower rooms, teacoffee making facilities, hair dryers, toiletries and remote control flat screen TV.
