General Description

Goodenough Club provides 4 star guest accommodation which looks over the beautiful Mecklenburgh Square Gardens in the heart of Bloomsbury. Goodenough Club is well located for all London's airports and train stations. It is 10 minutes walk from St Pancras, home to Eurostar, which provides access to mainland Europe within a few short hours. The Club is also in easy walking distance of the West End, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, British Museum, Royal Opera House, the academic and legal centres and the City. The Club occupies five Grade II listed Georgian townhouses with mews which blend the traditional with the modern. Freshly cooked breakfast is served in the College Great Hall where dinner is also available. Drinks and meals throughout the day are available in Freddie's Cafe Bar. Daily membership to Nuffiled Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre can be purchased from the Club recpetion. You are also welcome to attend our comprehensive programme of free talks, lectures and concerts and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere created by a community of 650 international postgraduates from over 90 countries.

The room was NOT clean and it was very small, so small that the bathroom door didn't open properly as the bed was in the way. It was not a double bed as requested but 2 singles together. I would not stay here again.

May breakWe were in town to celebrate my friend being awarded her Phd...this was the perfect place. We could hear birdsong from our room! The garden was full of lilac and cherry blossum; a private place to enjoy a game of tennis, a barbeque or simply to sit and chat. The inclusive Sunday brunch in the Great Hall left us too full to speak - everything was delicious. A real treat. Quirky, friendly and quiet. Great location too!

This is a club and not a hotel and the service reflects that - it is very discreet whilst being very efficient. The room was light and airy with a very high ceiling, fridge and coffee facilities. The shower room was very small for someone over 6 feet but very clean nontheless. The breakfast was in a separate building but the choice was immense and the quality very good. A lovely, relaxing place to stay overall.

Great location / Great breakfast / Could do with redecorationThe location of this hotel in a small square in the centre of London is faboulous. Having breakfast in the 'Great Hall' of Goodenough College is very cool. The room was OK and included a King Size bed, but felt the room could do with redecorating or at least 'finishing off'.

Our stay at the Goodenough Club was fantastic. I chose the hotel as it was reasonably priced, has a pretty good location (we went to see the Lion King in Covent Garden and went shopping on Oxford St - both of which were in walking distance) and as a university accommodation, offered minimal fuss - ie., we were left to ourselves once we had checked in. The breakfast which was included was gorgeous too!

Please don't stay here!! - I get really depressed when it's fully booked and I can't get a room!!! Best place I've found to stay at in London! 5 min from the Tube and 5 min from the Brunswick centre with its Waitrose, Starbucks, Nandos, Carluccios, Yo Sushi and much more! Excellent rooms - especially the Mews rooms - Clean and very quiet - Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Book via Laterooms as full prices apply if you book direct.

Very welcoming, friendly and helpful reception staff. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. One quibble would be the difficulty using the television but for a hotel in the heart of London it was remarkably tranquil and had a pleasant view across the park opposite.
