We were very disapointed at the state of the hotel, the hotel was closed over christmas - and no safety checks were made to rooms. we found a lamp with no plug and wires sticking out, the electrics tripped everytime we tried to switch on either the tv or the other lamp that was working. We were moved rooms 3 times - and still the final room was not was we expected from this level of hotel.Cleaners had no worked over christmas as tea pots and solid milk were sat outside one of the rooms, leaving a very unpleasant smell in the hall ways... A very disapointing stay.

Quality of roomThe water was cold, so couldn't have a shower or bath. The double glazing didn't work, so it was really noisy, as the hotel has a bar on the gorund floor which is open until 3am!

in the center of DublinThe hotel was great. A nice change from the rooms we had in Rome and Paris. It was a little slice of home. Great place to stay for an average price.

Very good location. I requested a non smoking room but we were given a smoking room. The lobby outside our room smelt very strongly of vomit, I did notify the Receptionist of this and but the smell stayed for the remainder of the stay. The heating was not working on the second evening and the following day.I may stay there again if I was sure I was going to be given if the above 3 issues did not reoccur.

Grafton Capital March 2009The hotel was located in a great central location just round the corner from the main shopping area of Grafton street with Marco Pierre White's new Bar and grill 'Fitzers' a 10 minute walk away. However within the same building as the hotel there is a bar/restaurant and club which is situated directly under some of the hotel rooms. We did not experience a problem with this as we were out until 2.30am ourselves and would suggest that you only stay here if you are planning to go out until late. The staff in the hotel reception couldn't be more helpful and even searched the internet to find the location of the restaurant we had reservations at that night and marked it on a map for us. The room was traditional in style with dark wood furniture but only had one bedside lamp to light the whole room. The bathroom was quite basic and a little tired. Overall the hotel is a budget option in a central location for people that are going to dublin for a maximum of two nights to sample the delights of Temple bar!

A Great Night's Sleep on 5th Floor When I arrived on the Sunday night around 8pm, I thought I had made a big mistake as there was loud music coming from the bar. However, on retrurning after a meal in town around 10pm, the place was pleasantly quiet and I had a great night's sleep. I think it would be important to ascertain at what time the music was likely to stop before booking this hotel.

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend on a Saturday and Sunday night. The hotel is clean and the rooms are of a nice standard. BUT it is located above a nightclub, not attached, and until 3 am on the both nights we were kept awake by the very loud music coming up through the floors. We could clearly hear all the words to songs even though we were two floors above it. When we complained the second day, the receptionist said she would ensure the noise levels were reduced that night as it shouldn't have been so loud. That night it was worse than the first night. I complained again, a friendly German night receptionist who could only move us to a 4th floor room. It made NO difference and we were forced to get ear plugs so we could sleep. We had to catch an early flight and only have got 4 hours sleep after all disruptions. It is a pity as it is well located.
