This place was AWESOME to sum it up in one word. Everyone was so friendly even though they did not speak much english, they were still pleasant. I will definitely be going back. The pool was huge and the food was GREAT. Room service was wonderful every time i left the room for breakfast, when i got back the room was cleaned. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT, NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL ONLY THAT THEY SPEAK MOSTLY SPANISH.

We spent most of the days on the beach or by the main pool. The grounds were spotless and the staff were so friendly. The made sure you were happy. We did only one day of sight-seeing outside the resort. I would recommend to do this more often---to explore the beautiful country. We went to the spa that was within the resort grounds and we had a private dinner on the beach our last night... It was spectacular. If you are looking to do something, just ask at the front desk. Just because you don't see it advertised, doesn't mean they can't put something together. The resort was beautiful---no bugs; always felt safe and thought it was reasonable priced.

This is the perfect "get away" trip. The resort is immaculate and the staff is welcoming and accommodating. Everything you need or want is right at your fingertips. Expect greatness all around, just don't expect a five-star meal. The food is mediocre, but who cares when you have plenty to drink in paridise.

The hotel was HUGE, so much to do. Clean an easily accessible. My only complaint were the mosquitos. Our room was infested, we had to have them fumigate twice which unfortunately did nothing. Every night I slept with sweatpants, a hoodie socks on my hands and feet and coverrrred myself in bug spray and EVERY morning I woke up with at least 10 more massive welts from the mostquitos. Other than that, the hotel was awesome, great price with a ton to offer!

My wife & I stayed for 5 days in July/09 for R&R. The staff we encounter was super freindly & helpful in anything we asked for. We are from Michigan in the USA, so keep in mind that we love to eat or at least try eating the local foods were ever we go & not the same/boring foods we"re getting away from. The foods at the buffet were excellent. They have dinner themes every night. Do your restaurant reservations as soon as you get there & before 3pm. We attended the Japanese, grill steak and sea food restauransts. The Japanese in nice inside, but we didn't care for the taste of the food. We don't know if it was the cook we had, but we love Japanese food. However, the other two restaurants were excellent (must try the octopus salad at the sea food rest). You can get drinks at the pools or beach area, not food. You can only get food @ the buffet. Yes, there is only one buffet location. So if you are at any of the pools or beach area & get hungry, you have to ride the trolly (a trolly comes every 30 sec) to the lobby were the buffet is at. The plaza were the shops, casino & clubs are at during the day is some what dead but after 10pm it gets live until 2am. Some of the theater shows were nice & they have one every night @ 9pm. 90% of the music played was local "Bachata" or in spanish. While we were their, I would say 80% of the vacationers were from Europe & USA & spoke spanish as their 1st language. Since originally I'm from Puerto Rico and my wife is from Ecuador well, we loved that.

I booked this hotel for my a nice vacation for my mothers birthday and mothers day gift. I thought it would be a nice relaxing vacation. Boy was i wrong. After traveling all day we stood in line at check out for 1.5 hrs. The man at the front desk did not explain how we had to go to guest services to schedule our meals. When we did go the next morning it took us an hour to do so and the lady was extrememly rude. All inclusive means where ever you want to eat. WRONG. We only were allowed to schedule 2 ala carts for 4 nights. The one was worse than the buffet we had to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at 3 days. The ones we wanted were told were full but they werent when we walked passed. We did get one good meal but the waiter was rude. He took our order and never came back again. We found that being americans we got the cold shoulder after spending good money to be there. Almost everyone was rude to us except the bus boys and maids. We would get waited on last or not at all when we went to the bars at the beach, pools, or resort. Also there was really nothing to do in the evening at the resort. When we tried to shop we got pounced on by the vendors to see their stuff outside of every shop. I have never felt so mistreated in my life even though i spent good money to be there. Resort and beach were beautiful and clean i just wish the rest of my experience would have been.

I just went on my honeymoon there, place was beautiful. I would recommend this place to every one. The gift shops are a little pricey but what do you expect your at a resort. They take Dollars and Dominican Pesos too. The staff was really nice. Very impressive the majority of the people speak like 5 languages. And for the people who are writing reviews that they were upset that some people don't speak English, well hello what do you expect your in a Latin Country they shouldn't adjust to your needs its like going to China and expecting people to know English. Any who the place was great buffet was good place was clean. Cant wait to go back!!!

I stayed at Bahia Principe Hotel from march 19th - march 26th. I stayed at this hotel because of the reviews i read so i thougt i was making a good chose. I will start by saying that hospitality needs improvements, their's hotel policies should be clear. Example: The ALA Carta restaurants are limited, reservations depends on how many nights you stay and most likely the one you would like to go is already booked and the hours may be very late. Second, they're pools restrictions. Third, the employees are all in different page when it comes to answering questions about the hotel policies as to where you are allow to eat or which pool you can go in. The people at the front desk and where you make your restaurants reservations are not amicable and discombobulated. Overall, experience was not good as a had expected. The only good feedback i could say, it was very clean and the landscaping was beautiful.

We had a great time! This is an excellent resort for a honeymoon. We mainly stayed at the resort, but did take one trip to go snorkeling with sting rays and sharks on a party boat. Our room was beautiful, however we did find 3 dead cockroaches (one every few days). When the food was good it was AMAZING, but when it was bad it was clearly bad - don't put anthing that doesn't look good at the buffet on your plate. Chances are if it doesn't look good, it's not good. The specialized restaurants are great! I HIGHLY recomend the Japonese restaurants. My husband doesn't usually eat fish - but he devoured the sushi. Do not drink the tap water or eat anything that had been rinsed in tap water, they give you bottled water for your room. This is a very 'do it yourself' resort. There are nightly activities and shows, but you have to search for them yourself, they won't present these options to you. The pool was great, the service was excellent even though we didn't tip much, the beach was clean and beautiful, and I would absolutely recomend this resort to my family and friends.
