Stayed here 4 days. The hotel is beautiful, has very comfortable beds, and the room is clean and updated. The double beds are standard beds (not queen size), but the beds, pillows and bedding were extremely comfortable. The gym was great (there is a 10 fee/room/day if you use it, which we found to be a good deal). Pool use is free but the pool is rather small and only 4 feet deep -- which was great for families with small kids, but not really for adults. The metro--which charges approximately 2/trip/person--is right there (runs under the hotel)--VERY convenient, though paying for it can be a bit frustrating. If you arrive at the Ronald Reagan National Airport, you can take it and get off at the Metro Center exit, once out of the train then look for the 11th street exit sign and you will see an entrance into the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Ask the hotel receptionist for a map. The sights are within 5-15 minutes walking distance from the hotel--we spent all of our stay there walking and it was great, although we did take the Metro to go to the mall at Pentagon City (located in Viriginia) and to go to the National Shrine (at Catholic University). Stick to walking during the daytime. The Ford Theater and the American History Museum were closed and the FBI doesn't have tours any more. The breakfast buffet was very good but way too expensive. Be careful of people coming up to you for change--there are some fake bills going around. While we were there the whole downtown Washington DC area went black due to a power shortage--HOWEVER even though the hotel room did not have electricity, the hallways of the hotel had emergency power!

Beautiful lobby and spacious and well appointed room The surrounding area was a bit run down The hotel was beautiful, and the customer service was great! We appreciated the counter service coffee/lunch area, and had a wonderful meal in the sports bar. Property is located right at Metro station, which is another big plus.

Comfortable beds, nice lobby. Pay to swim, bad expensive bar drinks. Very nice, upscale hotel. Not as handy to convention center as appears due to major construction. Definitely worth the price.

The hotel was in a great location and provided convenient services in a safe, clean environment. The Grand Hyatt Hotel is a great hotel with wonderful views of the city and a great lobby. With easy access to the metro, fitness center, and restaurants, and a well-maintained valet service, this hotel is great for everyone. It is located only a couple blocks from the White House and the safety is a high priority. The rooms are well-kept and situated nicely. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious.

Very convenient location, right in the heart of DC My wife, 3 small kids and I really enjoyed our stay here. Having never been to DC before we didn't know what to expect. The location was terriffic. We walked from the hotel to all the major tourist sites with ease.

The front desk staff was very professional, and dedicated to their job. The suite rooms were beautiful, and very spacious inside. None. The hotel should give a special commendation to Ryan the front desk person. Ryan was very friendly, and professional to his job.

Very clean, comfortable and ideal location. Very friendly staff. Our room was away from the elevators, so we couldnt hear it. But obviously had to walk some distance everytime. Paid Internet at a hotel in the 21st century? Next to the metro train stop.

Very classy, lobby is exciting and dynamic. Lobby is beautiful, the beds are great, rooms and bathrooms need some updating. Very nice property in a very centrally located part of town. Has the nicest lobby of all area hotels. Nice rooms and great beds. Five minute walk from convention center and 10 minutes from Chinatown. A $10.00 cab ride from Capital and Union Station and right near Dupont Circle. Great Clubs and Restaurants all around Hotel and area. This is a great central place to be. Metro is a block away and parking is in the building for only $24 a day self park or $12.00 up to 10 hours.

Very friendly and helpful, clean room. The parking was outrageous $20 a day! Ordinarily this hotel would be above my budget; so I was real impressed. The express check-in & checkout computer was awesome, a real plus to anyone in a hurry. The Staff was very helpful. The parking facility was the only negative. $20 a day to park at a hotel is pricey!

The hotel is great, staff was outstanding. You could not use the luggage cart without a bellmen. I would stay here again. My only regret is that we did not have more time to enjoy our accommodations as we were only in DC for one night.

For the price I thought there had to be something wrong with this hotel, definitely not the case. Location is awesome for those who want a night out on the town in DC. No hassles at check-in ;we were late due to traffic&. Staff was friendly and unabtrusive. Hotel was absolutely beautiful throughout. Room was spotless, spacious, and the bed and bathroom was amazing. I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to DC.

I found the Hyatt to be a positive experience. Staff at check-in were friendly and helpful and concierges were knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Proximity to the metro was excellent making it easy and fast to get to all the sites. The only thing lacking in this hotel, in my opinion, is a good pool. There is a pool available, but it is fairly small and unimpressive. Other than that, the Hyatt is a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it.

This was a good hotel for what we paid. The location was excellent--within walking distance to all the sites and right on the Metro route. The room was clean and adequate and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We didn't like that there is no price list for the mini bar items. Knew these items would be expensive, but would have helped to know ahead of time how much they were.

Friends and I stayed at this hotel for a week over the 2009 Independence Day holiday. Hotel interior is beautiful. The rooms were clean and newly decorated. All staff members including housekeeping, concierge, and main desk were friendly and helpful. Inside the hotel are Starbucks, a deli, a sports bar, another restaurant, and Cure bar/restaurant. Prices are not cheap, but face it, you are in the tourist part of DC - nothing is cheap. The main Metro Central station is located beneath the Hyatt, so using the Metro is a breeze. Hotel is just blocks from Chinatown and some good restaurants and shopping. Fitness Club costs extra, but the Fitness Club pool is available free of charge to hotel guests.

While clean with friendlly staff and a nice restaurant Cure;, this hotel lacked many common amenities or charged extra for them. For example, Internet was very slow, business center charged $3 per 5 minutes and $1 a page to print b&w ;$2 color ;even for your receipt. You can't print from your own laptop. In rooms, bulbs were not working, shower water was lukewarm, shower caps were not provided, and the bottom bureau and night table drawers were either fake or nailed shut. Getting someone to bring up coffee packets took 3 hours and the delivery person appeared to be a mechanic or technician drafted for the job. To top it all off, the room did not even contain a Bible ;which is distributed freely to hotels.

Very convenient to Metro Center station and within walking distance of many sites & very comfortable bed. No bathrobes, no mouthwash in rooms. The Grand Hyatt was a great hotel for our visit to DC. The rooms were clean and comfortable - the bed was very comfortable and the linens were nice. The lobby acess to Metro Center station was extremely convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful. The deli on site was great for grabbing breakfast and the hotel's jazz bar, Butlers, had great martinis and atmoshere (great drink prices, too). I wish we had bathrobes in rooms and mouthwash. These have been standard in other 4 star hotels I've visited. The downtown location meant we had to walk a little bit, but it was convenient enough that we walked much more than we took the metro. There were plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity.

It has good location and the room was clean and comfy. Swimming pool was too small. It has wonderful location to access, right in the middle of down town. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. One thing that I didn't like was small swimming pool. Overall, it was a really nice hotel for vacation.

Beds were really comfortable. No free breakfast; food was expensive. Great location! Walking distance to White House and other attractions. Beds were very comfortable. Lobby can be very noisy at times. We were awakened at 1:00 am by loud crowd leaving a dance at the hotel.

professional, polite staff; great pub/bar; great pillows! as with the CapHill hotel, its mildly annoying that at a first class hotel there is a charge to use the work-out facilities. Great location; take the Metro in from the airport if you don't have much luggage..Very warm, welcoming property; room service excellent as is the entire staff. We were there when a convention of teenagers was going on; while the kids were loud and boisterous at times, the staff handled things beautifully, always friendly and courteous.

Convenient. Clean and spacious rooms. The hotel was clean and comfortable and convenient to where I needed to be. There was a metro station connected to the hotel, although I did not know this until after I had already checked in. I would stay there again.

Beautiful property and the restaurants were good. It was very convenient to the Metro. There wasn't any hot water the first day. We had a great time, despite not having any hot water the first day. I was disappointed that a manager wouldn't take my call about the water issue. Instead, they had the front desk communicate with me. Other than that, it was very nice and very convenient to the Metro stop.11

Fantastic lobby area, good sound system if you bring an Ipod and decent view of downtown. No free internet in lobby/room. Make sure you are certain whether the room comes with a free breakfast. I don't like the fact that there is a charge for every service or facility on offer. The gym, pool, internet, package delivery etc are not complimentary as they would be in most hotels and, in most cases, outrageously priced.

the hyatt will take your breath away..it is absolutely beautiful..the staff is very friendly..and the location is great...your are 3 blocks from f street/china town and tons of good eating places and stores...the were very disappointed with the hyatt cure restaurant...$40 plus for soup and a tasteless pot-pie that we shared...it was a rip-off and the food was terrible...the deli and other restaurant were closed over the christmas holidays..the coffeeshop also had lousy hours even though the place seemed busy to me...the metro is right at the hotel...we had a great time and would go back...just eat your meals elsewhere

I liked the staff at the bell stand in this hotel. They are exceedingly helpful. The internet service in this hotel is bad. My second bad experience. Hotel is in a great location. Bell staff is excellent. Management responds fairly and quickly to problems. Have stayed here multiple times and each time I have had problems with the wireless internet which is a critical issue. Was on phone for 30 minutes with someone in Poland and still no resolution to getting on the internet. Was never able to get on. Had to go to the business office next morning to get a connection. Hotel needs to get a different wireless system.

Nice hotel, great location, beautiful room. My wife found a roach crawling on the breakfast bar counter. This hotel was beautiful, and is in a prime location. They serve a beautiful breakfast buffet, but my wife found a roach crawling on the breakfast bar counter, which the staff did attend to once notified. This was the only negative at all, but I can say I won't eat there again.

I booked two rooms at The Grand Hyatt. One for myself & husband, one for my son, dauther-in-law & 2 year old son. The rooms were great. Clean and well appointed. The staff upon our arrival were very helpful and always smiling. My husband and I would like to go back to DC this year and will definitely use the Grand Hyatt.

Grand Hyatt was very well located for New Yorkers who take Chinatown Bus to visit Washington D.C. because it was just 4 blocks away from the Chinatown in D.C. where the buses have their last stop. The room and the bathroom are large and clean. The big window that opens gives sunshine and fresh air. The indoor patio of the hotel is pleseant. Evrything is just perfect.
